@PTH4Fun Currently, according to Wikipedia, the company who owns the syndication rights is CBS Television Distribution, but originally, this version was syndicated by Viacom. Or as Sandy Hoyt pronounced in the closing credits: VEE-a-com.
I believe so! I recognize the shoes from her episodes of Split Second and if you pause it at 0:26, you can see her face and recognize her glasses. Gaye was a great champion...too bad she lost her 5th game.
They're from the first months of the show prior to switching to the blue backgrounds. The pilot and the first week had the same car background, but instead of the $1000, had the word "showcase" which was the equivalent of the vacation or fur offered later on.

ABC should've done five things:
1. Brought "Split Second" back
2. Premiered it on January 6, 1986
3. Find a new host (maybe Tom Kennedy or Jim Peck or--well, whatever)
4. Made the set like the Canadian version but bigger
and
5. Used the Bonus Round w/ 5 cars and a key to start one of 'em.

There's also an audio clip from the car bonus round that was once posted here on YouTube. Now it's posted on Google Video.

The clips starting at 0:24 and 0:26 must be from an unaired pilot. How I'd love to get my hands on that.

The clips shown here are of the Dianne/Robert/Shelley episode, which mtiller2006 posted in its entirety.
