  • The one on 5:06 from "switserland"

it's looking very very old, and it's in widescreen

    Why??

  • Where's the logo for Bambi?!

  • The RKO that was used for Melody 1953 was the same one they used in Fantasia. Plus the RKO to Cinderella was on the 1995 laser disc.

  • Please upload the opening and endings to Casey At The Bat, Johnny Appleseed, and any other shorts that were remade in the mid 50s from Melody Time and Make Mine Music.

  • How do you find "Once Upon A Winter Time" Cartoon Short? That is released in 1954 and have a teal script ending?

  • I found out last year that Snow White has the RKO logo at the end of the film.

  • The 1990 Vhs Of Something Wicked This Way Comes Doesn't Show The Buena Vista Logo

  • Disney Release in 1940 to 1953

  • are you going to post too the buena vista logos that have the castle from disney (a.k.a. Walt Disney Television that makes the sparkling sound)

  • I'll use the RKO or Buena Vista logos for

  • 2:53 that was also used on a cartoon that wasn't a goofy cartoon (I think it was aired when Mickey's Christmas Carol aired on KOVR 13 (our local CBS) in our area) back in the '90s

  • It would have been cool if The Little Mermaid was the very last Disney film to have the Buena Vista Distribution logo, but The Fox and the Hound was.

  • cinderella needs rko radio pictures

  • cinderela need rko raqdo pictures logo

  • cinderela needs rko raqdo pictures logo

  • cinnderella needs to rko rado pictures logo in the beginning

  • I had Peter pan on VHS but the buena vista logo did not appear at the start but right at the end

  • My 1993 Pinocchio VHS has the BV logo in the beginning, must been the rerelease. My bro has the Blu-Ray/DVD combo version, I gotta check if it has an RKO or the BV logo.

  • @Urvy1A Disney Release in 1940 to 1953

  • This one tells the story of the whole collaborations of these separate but unique film companies

  • I believe the BV logo for Saludos Amigos was from when the film was released in South Korea in 1959.

  • And on the film's original release.

  • Boy! Disney recycled most of his Buena Vista Logos I think he could have painted the BV text on the RKO Logos instead of plastering them

  • 1:20 This logo is red.

  • lol

  • I was wondering, do you think you can upload the openings to Casey at the bat & Johnny Appleseed?

  • I was wondering. Do you think you can upload the opening credits to Casey at the bat and Johnny Appleseed? if so thank you i would like to know how their openings went

  • I have Water Birds on DVD but it has the Buena Vista Logo instead of the traditional RKO Radio Pictures Logo

  • @livinlarge18 You must have "The Rescuers" DVD. "Water Birds" was re-released by Buena Vista after 1953.

  • @8to16to35 I do I got it in 2007

  • You should upload a comparison video between the two Buena Vista credits from The Great Mouse Detective, because the new DVD of that film restores the original "Distributed by Buena Vista Distribution Co., Inc." credit.

  • What I mean is, the Mystery in the Mist Edition DVD of The Great Mouse Detective restores the original "Distributed by Buena Vista Distribution Co., Inc." credit at the end of the film.

  • 1:16 I love that logo

1:22 I hate that logo and it scares me.

  • You should redo this little video over again, with the RKO logos for Snow White (from the 2009 DVD), Pinocchio (from the 2009 DVD), Bambi (from the laserdisc version) and Cinderella (from the laserdisc version).

  • FANTASIA

    bAMBI

    SALUDOS AMIGOS

    CINDERELLA

CURRENTLY DONT HAVE THERE ORIGINAL RKO LOGO

AFWUL LOTS OF SHORTS DONT HAVE THERE ORIGINAL LOGO ON WDT.

WEETHER IT WAS COLUMBIA, UNITED ARTISTS PICTURES OR RKO.

  • lol

  • sometimes i wonder if the diamond edition of Fantasia will have the rko logo.

  • @tdfritzthe1st yes it does! XD :)

  • There is one way to find the BV from The Living Desert... just youtube "the living desert disney" and there it is.

  • This I know: You can see an RKO Radio Pictures logo at the end OF THE DIAMOND EDITION SNOW WHITE DVD!

  • The 'Alice in Wonderland' 2004 2-DVD set (which I have) has the RKO logo at the beginning, but I don't know about the reissue of 'Peter Pan' (I don't have THAT one).

  • I too am not sure about the 2007 DVD of Peter Pan, but I DO know that the 1998 VHS has the RKO logo.

  • @greenth1ng i doubt, my friend had the peter pan 1998 release that has BV logo but the one i had was the release of 2007 on dvd does have the radio rko logo b4 the opening credits.

  • @greenth1ng I checked. It does.

  • @greenth1ng I checked. The 2007 DVD does.

  • The Peter Pan one is on the 1998 VHS and the one in Alice in Wonderland is also on the Masterpiece Collection releases and the Gold Classics Collection.

  • You left out Melody Time. It has the RKO logo.

  • Re-upload this video, this time with the Pinocchio RKO logo (which is on the PE DVD). Also, see if the Bambi and Cinderella DVDs also have the RKO logos on their PE DVDs (I think they do, but I'm not sure).

  • The Bambi Platinum Edition DVD does have it's original RKO logo before the movie titile screens started.

  • No it doesn't, I have the DVD and it shows the Walt Disney Pictures logo instead.

  • @doughnutser256

The Platinum Edition of Bambi does NOT have the RKO logo and neither does the Cinderella PE DVD. They each have the cut-short Walt Disney Pictures logo with the RKO fanfares.

  • Pinocchio also has an RKO Logo too. I Would know because I have the spanish dub on my vlog

  • You should probably update this, because the Platinum Edition DVD/Blu-Ray of Pinocchio opened with the RKO logo.

  • When was "Westward Ho! The Wagons" released in?

  • @RyuichixCMZ 1956

  • One more question: Did "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" have a Buena Vista logo on its re-release?

  • I`m sure that it must have had something, but nothing has appeared on any of the video or DVD releases.

  • I think it was silent. I don't think "Snow White" had an RKO logo either.

  • Actually, Snow White did have an RKO logo when originally released. At the beginning, there was an in-credit notice for RKO in the credits. At the end, there was the RKO logo with the text "A WALT DISNEY FEATURE Production" with "IN TECHNICOLOR" below. When Snow White was reissued in 1958, they rephotographed the credits to remove the RKO notice and (correct me if I'm wrong) put the Buena Vista logo at the beginning (possibly silent).

  • Snow White had an RKO Logo I have a still frame along with Fantasia

  • Well, not on the movie itself, it didn't. One of the bonuses on the Snow White DVD shows the original RKO logos, though.

  • I was on IMDb earlier and according to them, it originally opened with the RKO logo, and re-release prints had the Buena Vista logo.

I often wonder if "Fantasia" had a Buena Vista for the re-release.

  • @8to16to35 2009 SNow Wite DVD have the RKO openings. But mind you many Shorts pre 1956 still dont have got there original titles back and many WDT shorts are reissue/recreation prints.

  • @8to16to35 it's rare to have BV logo on snow white but at least they can show the rko logo or BV logo is snow white but it was on theaters btw the era of 1954 to 1984 of disney on theaters

  • @8to16to35 it could be seen on the snow white & 7 dwarfs 2001 dvd

  • Snow White did not open with an RKO logo. Instead RKO was acknowledged in the context of the credits after the main title. There was also an RKO credit after the storybook closing at the end of the film (instead of "The End" )When the film was reissued in 1958 the Buena Vista logo was attached at the beginning of the newly filmed credits that removed RKO from the titles. The original credits can be seen in the supplemental DVD on the Snow White Platinum DVD.

  • Incidentally, the Laserdisc versions of Bambi and Cinderella have the Original RKO logos at the beginning.

  • The 1997 VHS of Bambi also has the RKO logo

  • @Imaxination80 I don't really know, but i do know that at the ending on the 2009 dvd it had the R.K.O. radio pictures logo at the end of the movie

  • @Imaxination80 No, not that I can recall.

  • Where did you get the Buena Vista for "Westward Ho! The Wagons"?

  • I got it from a friend. It is a recording from a 16mm print.

  • Is the "Treasure Island" Buena Vista from the original 1981 video release?

  • 5:05-5:11. What about "Switzerland"? When was that released in?

  • "Switzerland" was released in 1955 with "Lady and the Tramp."

  • 4:52-4:57. When was "Siam" released in?

  • "Siam" was released in 1954.

  • 5:52-5:57. What's "Niok"?

  • "Niok" is a live-action featurette released in 1957 about a baby elephant in Africa.

  • Did Cinderella have an RKO or was it Beuna Vista?

  • It originally had an RKO, but it has had Buena Vistas during rereleases

  • *sigh*... How I will miss the good old Buena Vista... You know, until 2007 Buena Vista International placed its logo at the end of every Disney film or TV series, including those of Touchstone, Hollywood Pictures, etc (Die Hard 3 and a few other even have a rare BVI opening logo!!!). This kind of signified that this is a Disney film... Now Disney-ABC Television doesn't place a logo at the end, so it's not the same. :(

  • At 0:32, with the RKO logo of Fun and Fancy Free, do you have the theme song of that movie.

  • Can you upload the opening credits of Fun and Fancy Free with the RKO Intro.

  • Wait one minute. I saw a mishap: The logo for Victory Through Air Power at :19 said "Released Thru United Artists" not RKO. What does UA have to do with Disney?

  • United Artists was the primary release company for the Disney Studio following Columbia Pictures (late 20s/early 30s, respectively) and preceding RKO. Hence, UA eventually released VTAP when RKO was a) unable to, b) did not, or c) both.

  • Can I give you one more RKO movie? Mighty Joe Young had the RKO and the WDP logo in 1998.

  • Mighty Joe Young had the RKO logo? Wow! And what's the WDP logo?

  • 90s WDP logo. 1998 ended RKO and kept Buena Vista even with the WDP logo.

  • Mighty Joe Young had the RKO logo? Wow! And what's the WDP logo?

  • Check at the intro of the movie. It is the 1990s WDP logo.

  • Alice in Wonderland RKO logo love it its my favorite movie I was 1 year old when I saw it

  • 3:24. How did you get Song of the South in this video? I thought it was no longer seen in America because it was racist.

  • If I recall correctly, it was released to VHS in 1986. Not sure if this was taken from that version, though...

  • Disney wouldn't show BV logos on all his movie releases until the 90's when they restored some RKO logos

  • Man, that is just awesome!

  • RKO-Radio released virtually all of the Disney studio's films from 1937 through early '54 {with occasional exceptions, including "Victory Through Air Power" (1943); apparently, RKO wouldn't touch it, so Walt released it through his prior distributor (1932-'37), United Artists}. After "Buena Vista" was formed, the earlier films were reissued minus the RKO credits...

  • 2:35 was from "Contrary Condor". I love condors.

  • Pinocchio's RKO logo is intact on the 2003 DVD, which was released overseas but not in the USA. I think the upcoming Platinum Edition DVD may keep it as well, but we'll have to wait and see.

  • I've seen pictures confirming the RKO card's appearance on the Blu-Ray.

  • Comment removed

  • I have the Platinum Edition, it has the RKO logo.

  • Has anyone ever seen Cinderella's RKO logo?

  • Maybe for those who the film when it first came out in 1950. But beyond that no. But Youtube user logoboy95 (who has long since been suspended) had the RKO logo from "Bambi". But for some reason the RKO logo weren't included on the P.E. DVD of either the films I just mentioned. I assume like the B.V. for "The AristoCats", it's been lost. But hopefully the RKO logos for "Bambi" and "Cinderella" will be included when they come out Blu-Ray someday.

  • So the "Cinderella" DVD released a few years ago doesn't include the RKO logo?

  • I believe it has the Walt Disney Pictures logo on it. The previous video release had the Buena Vista. To the best of my knowledge, the RKO has never been released on video or DVD in the US.

  • Even on Blu-Ray?

  • Apparently the "Cinderella" laserdisc has the RKO logo.

  • Check out DISNEY ARISTOCATS BUENA VISTA AND TITLES for the BV.

  • To answer your question, the BV logo from 4:27-32 is from the DD cartoon "Donald's Diary". It was probably used when the cartoon was re-issued 1966.

  • Have you seen the Buena Vista logo that appears before "Tex"?

  • Melody Time did have an RKO too you know.

  • Yeah. I have it, but I can`t find my recording from The Disney Channel to compare the titles like I did with "The Three Caballeros."

  • Tht's not an RKO on Victory Through Air Power, it says Released through United Artists.

  • Yes, that is true. I believe it says in the intro that most of Disney`s movies were released by RKO. I guess "Victory Through Air Power" was the only exception.

  • RKO didn't want to release it, so Walt put the film through UA instead. It was mentioned all on a WWII-themed WDT DVD, hosted by Leonard Maltin.

  • There's a Buena Vista logo from the beginning of The Fox and the Hound that doesn't have any music.

  • Oh, and on another 16mm transer of "Peter Pan", I thought I saw the Buena Vista logo from the late '60s and '70s, instead of the one used in most of the '60's.

  • It was probably used from when the film was re-issued in 1958.

  • I almost forgot. "Saludos Amigos," "Song of the South," and others probably still have their RKO logos still missing. 8to16to35, if you can locate any of them, pleae let us know.

  • I don`t think that Disney has ever released them on video or DVD or shown them on TV. Hopefully some day they will. There are also many Buena Vistas that have never been available.

  • Actually, I think that the WD Gold Classic Edition of "Saludos Amigos" has the original RKO logo.

  • No, I`m afraid it doesn`t. I just checked. It has the Buena Vista like the DVD.

  • That's impossible!

  • Why is it impossible? I checked it out and it had the Buena Vista. It was released the same time the DVD first came out, so it makes sense that they would both be the same.

  • I'd like to find out for myself, instead of someone telling me.

  • Okay.

  • How can "Saludos Amigos" have a Buena Vista logo? It was released in 1942 and again in 1949. How can it have a BV logo if both times it was distributed by RKO?

  • It must be from a foreign release after 1953. Disney must have changed the RKO to the Buena Vista even for rereleases overseas.

  • Also in your other BV video, "Melody Time" was shown to have a Buena Vista logo. How could it if it was released to theaters only once?

  • It must have been rereleased outside the United States after 1953.

  • "Saludos Amigos" was first released in Austria in 1954. Perhaps the BV comes from that release.

  • Disney released their films not only to theaters, but also to TV channels, video, and so on. When they put it out, say, on TV or for home movie viewers for the first time, they didn't like the RKO logo popping up.

  • That's what I thought to! I have a VHS of Saludos Amigos that I bought a year ago, and I was surprised that it had a BV logo when it was distributed by RKO.

  • I just know there is a RKO lgoo for "Pinocchio." Trouble is that it ONLY appears on the UK "Special Edition" DVD.

  • The BV logo from "Donald Duck Cartoon" has the opening title music to the Donald Duck cartoon "Donald's Diary" (1954).

  • @Kartoonkid95__Sure you're righto! but, i have seen Doanld's diary,

and this version has the originald RKO logo with the fanfare, maybe they banned it at the 56-57

  • @Kartoonkid95 __Sure you're righto! but, i have seen Doanld's diary,

and this version has the originald RKO logo with the fanfare, maybe they banned it at the 56-57

  • I got the "Chronological DOnald Vol. 4" for Christmas and on some of thr CinemaScope shorts, I saw an RKO logo at the beginning to fit in with the opening credits. Also, the fanfare for "The Litterbug" is not there. The BV logo is silent.

  • Which is what I don't get. On the DVD for "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea," the Buena Vista fanfare for "Grand Canyonscope" (which is the bonus cartoon) is there. On the "Chronological Donald, Vol. 4" DVD, it is silent.

  • Disney is inconsistent. Since the DVD for "20,000 Leagues" has the music for the BV of "Grand Canyonscope", it must be accurate. The DVD of Chronological Donald Vol. 4 is missing the music; therefore it must be inaccurate. It is easier to remove the music (for whatever reason) than to add music that was never there. There have been other instances in which the music is missing on the DVD. For example, "Rascal." I got the music from a 16mm film; otherwise who would know if it had music?

  • Hey, you left out The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

  • Actually, it is in my first movie DISNEY BUENA VISTAS MOVIE INTROS.

  • Some of the Intro are Quite Catchy.

  • The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh is on Disney Buena Vista Movie Intros.

  • I think Disney was phasing out their relationship with RKO just after starting Buena Vista, which might help explain why RKO was still distributing Disney cartoons into the late 50's.

  • I think RKO was not wanting to lose Disney. I understand that they rereleased some of the True-Life Adventures later on while still under contract with Disney.

  • I think "Grand Canyon" has no music because the 'Grand Canyon Suite' played throughout the film. Since a music piece played throughout the film, the music started over the creadits, but not the BV logo.

  • Did you get the "Alice in Wonderland" version of the BV logo from the 1981 video release?

  • Yes. It is from the video, which, I beleive, presented it as it was rereleased in the 1970s.

  • I always wanted to see how that went as well.

  • I heard the Walt Disney Company renamed "Buena Vista Pictures Distribution, Inc" to "Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures". The first movie to have the new distribution name was "Enchanted".

  • Yes, I understand that Disney is no longer using the Buena Vista name, or will soon stop using it.

  • I know! I saw "Enchanted" in theaters and it was there!

  • I don't think the BV logos for "Bambi", "Melody Time", and "Peter Pan" are real.

  • The BV for "Melody Time" is real. I got it off The Disney Channel. For the other two, I used the music that Disney provided and edited the BV logo onto them; because I know that they did have the BV for their rereleases. I also did that for some of the educational videos; such as "A Country Coyote Goes Hollywood," "Hang Your Hat on the Wind" and a few others.

  • On second thought, I change my mind. I don't think the BV logo for "Melody Time" is real, but I do think the BV logo for "Bambi" is real because it was probably used when the film was re-issued in 1966.

  • A few corrections:

Flight of the Navigator (1986) was actually the last movie to have the Buena Vista name at the end.

The first movie to have "Distributed by Buena Vista Pictures Distribution, Inc." was actually Benji the Hunted (1987).

For The Great Mouse Detective, the original 1986 release had "Distributed by Buena Vista Distribution Co., Inc." at the end, but it was replaced with "Distributed by Buena Vista Pictures Distribution, Inc." for the 1992 re-release.

  • That is very interesting. I should have realized that the DVD is the movie as it was rereleased. I should check the video to see what it has

  • The video version also has the re-release version. It was released on video some time AFTEr it was re-released to theaters. Thus, the re-release version was used.

  • Thanks for the information! Good call!

  • This was excellent! Once again, I recommend it for Disney film buffs everywhere!
