I can understand doing games with TAS..... it is very cool to see a game done "perfectly". What I don't get is the glitch abuse. Where is the fun in zipping/phasing thru half the game?

@RamManNo1 It enables the TASer to beat the game faster. Which is the main goal in a TAS. Beat the game as fast as possible.

I recently bought it on my mom's iPhone for $5 as an app, exact same as this and just as fun! :)

If you liked this game, I recommend getting the app as it's awesome.

I like how in Japan, the default is the American version's "difficult". Ah well, at least the option is there. And it makes the game enjoyable for all ages (even if I did beat the normal mode with 4 energy tanks and 10 extra lives :0

Not until Megaman 4 did they max out the lives @ nine. I've gotten 28 in Megaman 2 and 24 in Megaman 3 before.

He's in mid-air zipping through half the stage. He's not going through the stage as it was intended. Glitch or not, it's a cheat.

Using glitches that skip you through anything is still cheating. I've played these games too.

I agree, its cheating. Most of these "speedruns" are tool assisted though (IE, slow motion), so take them with a grain of salt.

I would be really pissed if my speed run was accused of cheating when I spent an obviously ungodly amount of time on this. If I remember right, I saw that he took over 16k rerecords, JUST FROM RECORDING THE WHOLE THING. This is a completely different path from the mainstream one, which takes time to plan out in itself.

Don't get me wrong, there's a tremendous amount of memorization and timing required to pull one of these off. But its in slow motion, which in my eyes, is not totally legitimate.

well i knwo he did this on emulator - its the same japanese guy who did the infamous mario 3 speed run which was also on emulator. so it's very possible he did some slow framing cheats or he's really that crazy.
