There seems to be a common misconception that because there will be no "open" beta that there will be severe server issues. Most of the people that post this nonsense have no clue what they are talking about. There will be "closed" beta, which if you are signed up on the site then you are in the pool for that. MMOs, especially large MMOs are always divided into servers. Each server has a population max. All Bioware has to do is invite enough players to test several servers at max or near max.

For the love of God, The graphics for the game are just as advanced as Rift/GW2, Watch some of the latest videos in HD and remember. TOR has its own Unique Art Style. You arent going to get Visuals anything close to whats coming out on the market and keep it an MMO.

No Open Beta = No constant server downtime because a million players are trying to log onto the server at the same time when the servers aren't mature yet.

They should also keep the beta for those that actually HELP making the game better and not mooch on content before it's released.

@loludde I'd agree. In most cases Open Beta is pretty much necessary to stress test the servers, try to work out some balance issues before it goes completely live, but with a game like SWTOR we've got huge following already. (Over a million opt-in beta tester wannabes = beta servers blowing up).

Here's to them allowing a collector's edition entry into closed beta. (Notice, not saying early entry into the game... just preorder collector get into closed beta testing before launch).
