  • Be careful CT scan can cause cancer.

  • GO ON WIKIPE IT SAID THIS CAUSE CANCER AND IT CONTAIN 4000 RADIATION MORE THAN X RAY NOTICE IFA PRO ATHLETE GET INJURE THY MRI HIM OR X RAY HIM BUT IN ALL CASE HE PIK MRI CUZ THOSE THING DON CAUSE CANCER PLZ ALL OF U BE ANTI RADIATION OR U WILL PAY DEARLY fORMER RAD TECH I GOT FIRE FOR TELLING PATIENT THIS

  • @samantha34ize I'd say you got fired because you appear to be unable to string two words together, and have a limited understanding of how CT, MRI and X-ray are used and what they can and can not diagnose.

  • im 14 and i got one done today, they put a needle in me and Iodine. not very pleasent. makes u feel like u quote"wet ur pants" which means it feels like u have diarea floating in ur pants when u have iodine in u

  • @invaderzim908 i got all that done when i was 6. l: (my stomach hurt. we thought it was appendix. but turns out i really just had to "poo"

  • @MsCarowinds lol sorry that is funny...

  • what scan type is used when they need to scan the brain?

  • MRI ok

  • CT scan

  • MRI is a much better tool for looking at the hard organs and vascular issues. CT is a better tool for looking into the bowels. If you are in the ER with abdominal or pelvic pain they will order a CT because it is so much faster, but I would try asking for MRI if they suspect kidney, pancreas, gallstones etc.

  • CT is not just better for the bowels. We also do highly sensitive studies for all of the other organs, and blood vessels as well. CT angiograms will replace the traditional angiogram (and soon, as we are already doing many MANY angiographic studies). It is no longer just for bowels.

  • yeah i had abdominal pain and i had my first ct done yesterday they said nothing was wrong as im hoping also did they give any one of you some tingling medicine in your iv?

  • i was in hospitail for along time 6mth and i had lots and lots of scans it was a decision docters had to make i have lots of problems with my joints and i dont seem to b getting anywhere can anyone help me with any information i had lots of ct scans

  • Cool

  • Actually, this seems to be a very balanced look at CT Scans, raising the question up front about whether they are worth the risk and expense. There is certainly no attempt to advocate their unfettered use here, but to explain that they are undeniably powerful diagnostic tools.

  • I'm also a CT technologist. I have to agree with sarahsmurfette. This isn't quite as bad as the x-raying of feet to determine shoe size in the early 20's, but it's along the same lines.

  • I'm a CT technologist, and I find this video misleading. I hope people are not watching this in their medical research. CT scans have a very high dose of radiation, and unless a doctor PRESCRIBES it for you, it is not for you. It should be thought of like a drug. The benefit does NOT outweigh the risk for normal, healthy individuals. And for others, it may give a false sense of security that could lead to carelessness because they don't see the negative results of bad choices. Irresponsible.

  • I wonder why they use the CT all the times. Sometimes I feel that they shouldn't abuse it.
