  • I absolutley LOVE Vicki's laugh for Phyllis :p

  • These guys were the best, they were a great team, they really clicked, I would say brilliant together, The Carol Burnett show was the best ever......they still make me laugh, lol lol lol.......miss them

  • The best scene is when Vicki Lawrence as "Phyllis Dillis" and she turns around to Nora Desmond and screams out of fright. It's so funny! LOL!

  • guess this is were the roasting show idea came from?

  • @FLICKOFF1000 No, it's a parody of the roasts.

  • *Max* roasting *Norma* and making her the butt of his years of silently built up frustration is like that of Tiger Wood's former caddie's 2011 media circus moment. Jealousy and resentment.....is a b!tch! Never underestimate what so called *friends* will say or do...when they are mad at you or drunk.

  • OMG..LOOK at Carol's face as she is seated next to and then look up and down at *Phyllis Diller!" OMG--->>>The tears!!!

  • OMG!!! Everytime I see this skit and see Carol's outlandish make up and outrageous facial expressions....my stomach be hurtin' like crazy because she is so over the top hilarious!!! This is what the last of REAL live comedy was like. That crap that passes today's mustard as funny (King of the Hill, Family Guy, Everybody Loves Raymond...) is lame.

  • LOL!!

    - Phyllis Dillis (Diller): "She's now in the 19th year of her 7 Day Beauty Program."

    -Nora: "KILL, KILL"

  • How can Max turn on her like that?

  • LOVE THAT LAUGH from Pensacola , fl

  • "You say that i'm nutz. You say that ive gone hamburgers

  • It seems to me at times & I don't know why, but when Harvey is in close up as Max & given some of his facial expressions, I can only picture a bald Martin Milner for some reason.

  • This sketch, from what I've gathered, originally aired Sept. 21, 1974, and was the second show of the eighth season.

  • IT'S EZMA!!!

  • "there will be no more cheap saloon antics at your expense" lol

  • @jsp420 -- Would EXPENSIVE saloon antics be better, perhaps? LOL!!

  • @IncHulkLover No Sch..TICKKKKKKKKKKKK!

  • where are all these laughs and tears. And no cussing, but a good time. we can really use it now. With all the world going to pot.

  • @SuperMalka -- Exactly! No cursing, but lots of laughs. Where's THAT on today's TV, huh?!

  • Can anyone say which specific episode this originated from? I know it was around 1974.

  • I had to LIVE in ditches

  • When she says "we had FACES"...her expression and makeup reminds me of Medusa from the Rescuers

  • @ninetiesbaby10 I was thinking the same thing lol. She also reminds me of Yzma from The Emperor's New Groove lol!

  • @AfterTheWind ROFL...yes she does!!!

  • Harvey Corman looks like John Locke from Lost.

  • when sunset boulevard came out, norma desmond's glory days were only 30 years earlier! yet they still treated her like she was 100 years old.

  • The lady with the white hair and orange dress remind me of Liz Taylor

  • "Ur saying ive gone bananas! That im not playing with a full deck. That im a nut burger. Thats not true, I know why I was called here tonight. I know. Therefore, I will accept this acadamy award" *picks up peguinin*

  • The best ever.

  • She's right! The screen has gotten smaller.

  • RIP Harvey Korman (MAX); You are missed!

I saw Carol on stage and she paid tribute to him.

  • Vicki as Phyllis Diller is brilliant. I love Desmond's companion starts out praising her and ends up roasting her worse than everyone else.

  • roflmao

  • Who the hell is Vicki suppose to be?

PS I L-O-V-E Carol as Gloria Swanson!

  • ok thanks

  • OMG--This is f***ing HILARIOUS!!! I just watched Sunset Boulevard, and my mother told me about Carol Burnett's famous impersonation. Vicki Lawrence and Harvey Korman are AWESOME, too!!

  • Nora Desmond and her crazy eyes! I've always had a soft spot for her and Max, they're hilarious.

  • i love this spin on the roasts.

    dean martin's roasts were hilarious.

  • How the hell did Steve Lawrence keep a straight face??? LOL LOL

  • Harvey Korman, bless your soul, I miss you already....What will we do without you and Dick Martin to poke fun at the windiest among us??

  • "Back then they didn't need jokes, they had FACES!"

  • i don't like schtick max

  • "Cojac auditions are down the hall"

    "KILL! KILL!"

"Not now, madam, I'm on a ROLL!"

  • Tareltonlives it is Kojak not Cojac.

  • nutburger XD!

  • Is this what Liza Minnelli is going to look like in a few years?

  • I think Marilyn Manson stole his gimmick from the late Nora Desmond!....looks alot like him anyway

  • GREAT STUFF

  • anyone know who the two guys talking at the beginning are?

  • The host, "Jackie King", is played by Steve Lawrence, who's married to Edie Gorme; she played Marla Nelson in another skit I uploaded called "Stella In the Hospital." They were both on the Carol Burnett Show quite a bit.

I don't know the other guy's name, he was a 'Carol Burnett Player' throughout the run of the show.

  • @Tabstarkin - I think it could be Ken Mars.

  • @Tabstarkin is it Lyell Wagner?

  • @mikemiller1313 --The other man is Rich Little.

  • @linda1067 - No, I think that looks like Kenneth Mars.

  • @mikemiller1313 steve lawrrence and harvey korman!

  • @mikemiller1313 The bald guy in the skit is Harvey Korman! He was a regular on the show.

  • VICKY AS PHYLLIS...XD!!!!!

  • I don't know who is funnier in this, Carol or Harvey...

  • Isn't this from Almira Desmond (or vice versa) from Looney Tunes

  • No, it's a parody of the Norma Desmond character from "Sunset Boulevard."

... something I'm going to use someday.

  • Totally NUTSO..and I LOVED it! How much fun it was back in the day to watch Carol, Harvey, Lyle, Vicki and Tim on Carol's show. Wish they were still performing. Beats the trash called entertainment that's on tv nowadays. Thanks for posting this.
