It has some stunning visuals and the coherent narrative was fairly strong. My problem with it was that its influences were FAR too apparent, bordering on cinematic plagiarism. It was a nice film though.

If movie-makers wanted to say, that the most important thing is LOVE, they could make movie, that everybody could UNDERSTAND. But this film - is some kind of misunderstanding... I don't see any connection between American war and the astronaut; how could Lee find the diary of 19.century in ISS; how could he leave the Station and come to the Earth only in one astronaut suit... Of course, it is not the main thing in movie! BUT! I think, that movie-makers shouldn't lose the sense of reality...

It was most likely put up there as a guide to the true meaning of his mission. The relation between the two is that they were both finding Love! that is the whole concept of the film we see the documentation of a man who is both isolated and alone it's shown through his drawings and psychological condition that he hears voices of his partner as he struggles to keep sain

This movie is awesome, mind-twisting and, as somebody else said before, about everything. If you can't relate it to your experiences, your own thoughts about the higher self, an higher meaning to life, it WILL be pretty much pointless. If you are sick of those mainstream movies that use the same themes and have the same messages and clichés, this is one movie that you will find enchanting and really worth watching.

i thought that the ending had to do with alien beings that watched the human race destroy themselves, and then found lee and saw that although he was alone the possibility of having human connection was enough to go on. he showed love is what makes life worth living. he was chosen like the civil war guy to experience what the universe has to offer and share that with the rest of the world.

Watch the movie a couple more times, you might understand it better. It is confusing at first, but you just gotta think about it all while the movie is play the second time :)
