Yeah COB is great if you like generic Melodic Death Metal and are trying to get your feet wet. Musically, Norther punks COB. I love both bands, but bands like Norther, Wintersun, Equilibrium, and Ensiferum are WAY better than COB. Nice try though

How is COB generic, it has its own sound, In Flames would be a more generic sounding band and there's nothing particularly inferior about COB compared to other similar bands, I think people like to just say that because it's the most popular.

Children of Bodom basically sets the bar for Melodic Death Metal and Power metal bands. Between Norther and COB, there's really no contest against COB. If you don't understand why COB is better, than go listen to some green day or some shit, because you shouldn't be listening to norther or COB

@FivosRazor1: I agree 100%, especially after Bloodrunk and the newer In Flames albums. Stereotypical, and rather generic, metal. This band, however, put a good amount of emotion into it, and you can just feel it. The last in Flames album to stand up to that was Jester Race, and the last Children of Bodom album was probably... hm... either Follow the reaper of Hate Crew Deathroll.

Probably going to get flamed for that, but fuck it, it's my opinion.

@FrostSoldier meh i think Dt and cob are good in different ways. they are different genres, therefore since cob is finnish melodeath, they are alot more technical than DT and really they probably do have more talent when you think of their lineup with roope, janne and alexi. but Dt has a way to make music just sound good with the gothenburg style. which is very hard. most gothenburg style bands today have whimpy vocals and sucky music and generic choruses but not DT. so give em credit.
