@monk22yrs it actually has a sense of urgency but they don't show it. Figuring out this stuff takes years even decades. They have to figure it out before the world is wiped out.

Yes, this American masterpiece of it's age is infinately cooler than any of the hopeless crap they're making nowadays (2011AD).

@guthywoodry cause they got far too much competition from other forms of entertainment. also the bottom line is king far more then it was say 40 or 50 years ago. an they dont hire the right kind of writers which are most important part of film making. unless your independent.

I got caught by this movie back in 1986. Since then I have read the book more than five times, watched the movie even more and still always discover something new in it. Excellent story from Michael Crichton. To me, his best work.

Scared the hell out of me when this film came out, as it did everyone else in the theatre. Much silence as people left and many looked up at the night sky before driving home. Very eerie.

Saw this film when i was very young, didn't understand much of it, but it has always been on my mind. Two years ago it was on the telly again..very very late..I have to say that I loved every minute of it..
