How does this unit handle a mic plugged into the Input? Is the sound quality good? Or would I be better off purchasing the larger JM Stereo with the XLR?
@KFLUFF27 Yes you can set each loop storage place (preset) as a loop or as a one shot....the LEDs left to the display indicate if it is a loop or a single playback. This can be set up in ....well the setup mode
2 questions does this pedal have true bypass, and does it change your sound when put with your effects chain and switched on or does it not change the signal at all.
@spredthefunk I am not aware that any looper out there has a true bypass feature - but having said this I have the looper in my signal chain all the time and I cannot hear a thing. It all depends what loop you want to create and which position the looper has in the signal chain. For some obvious reasons it is best to be after the distortion but this is not a rule of thumb
@CorvaxDK with the jamman loop you can get aboot 30 min of recording and with the boss you get 16, i bought the boss cause it was a few dollars cheaper.
I love this pedal! The 99 memory locations and the SD card (with 99 more memory locations) are the best feature in this pedal, in my opinion. Just think of it, you can have may many different SD cards with different backing tracks, or your own compositions... A library and a mini-recording studio :)
wow this thing is amzing. it definatly kicks the boss rc2 where the sun dont shine. or am i wrong??? idk. all i know is i cant wait to put my own wav percussion on it with a drum program on the pc. wat a breeze this thing is gonna b...99 settings yum. mp3 clips yum. oh the posibilities lol. i was wondering about the dual pedal stero js. whats it got over the mono model? u get ur basic play/dub fun out of both. all i see different is the double tap to stop feature. is there a BIG diff?? or tiny??
ive been looking 2 buy a phase looper and like the look of the digitech jamman....also the recent roland XL 40.........which would be better for playing acoustic....... also i am limited for space .........any suggestions many thanks
@shaunyboy45 Well...for acoustic you might want a XLR in and on the Digitech side you must then look into the JM Stereo. It is a double pedal which offers way more than the JM Solo.
I prefer the percussion sound of the RC2 but I don't own the jamman but before I buy one i want to know if we can change the percussions sound of the jamman? Or we must use the presets to put nice drums sound to our pedal? ._.
@BorisDono Since the JM has so many presets you should reconsider and think of those many looper sides and drumrythms on the net you get for free....download those and import them into the JM and you have the best percussion sounds in the world because it will be the ones you have chosen!
@BorisDono You can change the sounds of the rhythm guide to be a metronome or a click or a bassdrum with HH on the one...I think it was 10 different sounds you can choose from.
I know the Looper comes with the supply power in box, but does it also come with all the chords you need in order to hook it up to your amp of whatever you need, or are those separate? I'm looking to buy and don't want to get the looper and not be able to use it the first day I get it.
@MassEclipsis Hi there, no there is no instrument or USB cable in the box....dont know if any other manufactorer is doing this. So you must also get a second instrument cable (which is always good to have) and the USB cable you might have anyway
@FallOfTheSun I didnt check the RC too deep but the obvious difference is the USB connector then the 99 presets the 35 minutes and the extension of the storage capacity via SD card...all these things you cannot find on the RC pedal
@FallOfTheSun with the RC-2 you can't switch to other recorded slots on the fly (soo helpful for doing full songs), it has many less slots, the RC-2 does not have upgradeable memory (I think)
@statlerhotel Sure there is...you havent read the manual so far did you? By turning down the Rhythm level you can record without the sound...or you do switch it off in the program...by pushing both knobs simu. you access the setup menu and there you can not only change the rhythm sounds but also the time signature and you can also turn it of
@chadworthman Yeah you can and this also answers your question before. You must be aware though that this looper in mono so all stereo will be converted into mono
will this pedal run from a boss DC brick? Is it 9volt DC. I.e. same adaptor and socket as the usual boss adapter, will that also run it. I know it comes with its own adaptor, but will it run from anything else if you know this? Im in New Zealand and the model i brought is going to arrive with the USA adaptor, so that will end up in the trash. But i have a DC Brick. hope you can help. thanks
yeah great pedal, ive just ordered one and look forward to it indeed. VEry helpful learning tool, to learn timing and soloing over top of other instruments at home. I use a DR880 roland drum and bass machine, and this will allow me to have Drum / Bass / Chording Guitar / And then ill play solo over top. 4 peace band in the closet. lol check out THE JD SCREAMER pedal i make. Buy one, they are seriously sweet tone. :-_)
@finZendt Not on this one - but there is a big brother which is called Stereo and it has a mic input (XLR plug) plus a Mic level to balance the levels....I post the video soon
Actually, there should be a way to hook up a mic to even the Solo. You just need an XLR-to-1/4" male adapter and plug it into the Solo. Should work that way.
@TheLegacyBand5in5 I am a little reluctant to say it is better that another product but here are some facts : USB connection, 35 minutes on board memory, expandable for 16 hours, 99 internal looplocations, 99 external loop locations.....
@joehssstrat latest news from the engineers the PC version is a week down the road by today....which means next week it should be up to download...Mac version takes a little longer
I've had this pedal for about 3 weeks now. To anyone considering the pedal:
-I don't like the exclusion of auto-start recording found on the full size JamMan and the almost ancient Boss loopers. Count-in feature is okay, but auto-start is better IMO.
-The preloaded rhythm tracks suck... The built in drum-machine on the RC-2 is way better. Digitech JamManager software isn't out yet
-Sound quality: JMS>RC-2
-Build Quality: RC-2>JMS
Jamman is cheaper on Amazon.. get that or RC-2 instead. IMO
@kingkevo25 thx for this comment.....but I wondered how a autostart can be better oin one or the other....I mean it is starting the loop automatically - I guess I miss something.
The JamMan does not have drumloops in there.....not one....it has a USB connection and you can download drumloops and bring them in thru the USB port. There are a few loops prerecorded to get you started and there is a rhythmguidline but there are no drumloops in the JamMan!
@ralfjung By autostart I mean the pedal detects when you start playing to start recording. The larger Jamman and Boss RC-2 have this. The Solo is a great pedal, but considering how old the RC-2 and the original Jamman is, it should have this feature. They did include this feature on the new Jamman Stereo though!
The USB connection is cool, but the needed JamManager software isn't out yet. I emailed Digitech, and they are clueless about when it will be available.
@kingkevo25 Yes I guess Digitech did not include this feature to have more justification for the Stereo model. The JamManager software is out I do have a beta version since last week which means the official version must be out or is about to be out...I am happy to share the beta with you if this is not the case
@ralfjung Ah i just checked their facebook page and apparently it was suppose to be released this last Friday. Nothing! I guess I can wait. Do you like the software?
@kakazimka Hi Kakazima, I didnt see this feature so far but I am not thru with the features of the Solo at this point. I assume this feature you can only find on the older JamManLoopers....
