ER doctors do not even have any contact with the financial staff of the hospital, they are compensated through the hospital and it is not legal to refuse care based on the ability to pay, a doctor will not risk losing their hospital privileges or license by refusing service. continued

Another perfect example of the failure of an unregulated free market is the California energy crisis of 2000-2001. Governmental regulation put price caps in place to keep the cost of energy affordable. In 1996 the market was deregulated. As a result prices jumped 800% due to artificial market manipulation by the energy companies. The free market does not regulate itself, which is why we need the government to institute checks & balances.

All it does is concentrate wealth upwards and destroys the middle-class. 1% of the population owns 25% of the wealth. The top 1% holds more than the bottom 50%. Sorry, your ideas are a failure. Reaganomics is supply-side economics. That's been our model sine the '80s. We switched to Laffer's model in response to the Keynesian failure of the '70s.

Welfare, n.HEALTH, happiness or prosperity well-being.
So in pointing this out you have now offered proof that the government has the obligation to provide healthcare to the citizens of this country and to levy taxes in order to pay for it. Awesome, now all we need to do is cut the military budget in 1/2 and we'll be good to go.
