I think The Great Urine changed his mind of killing him because he said he remembered his dad said that he needed talented people (which Sima Yi's brains is) to rule the country and spared him. Sima Yi raveled at the father and son and said "bakame", which roughly translates to stupid, but he may not necessarily say they are literally stupid. It points at the whole situation/said the the father & son are foolish, but till the end I don't know if he was touched or still bent in his shrewd ways.
