  • I like the part where it goes, tooooooooooooooot.

  • that guys deff goin deaf

  • Man, you know you're bored when you think of looking up ship horns on youtube and to my surprise, I found a symphony! I was mystically mesmerized by the sound of this, but didn't care for the end.

  • so how were they pressurized to do the performance?

    im amazed

  • i added this to my favs not because i plan on watching it again, but because i'm literally dumbfounded.

  • creepy but VERY interesting! NICE!

  • sounds creepy

  • Awse.

  • That guy smiling at you, hes happy he cant hear his wife anymore.

  • Tööööööööt! :D The beginning was tragic and sad but then, just before the end, came drunken police cars. Best wishes to all sailors and musicians of the world!

  • That's awesome. This isn't just noise, it's actual music.

  • I want to hear the Krypton Fanfare (from the Superman movie) played on these...

  • on warships we do that at the New Year Eve. A real pleasure lol ;-)

  • love ship horns...lol espically cruise ones

  • 0:16 to 0:26 are creepy!

  • listening to this always sends shivers down my back...... amazing

  • It'll be so cool if they actually directed a crowd of ships in a bay to play this.

  • AWESOME :) THANK YOU :) SMILES :)

  • Freaking sweet.

  • creepyyyy

  • Fantastic!

  • Next time, have them play the 2001 a space oddessy theme.

  • Amazing & very cool.

  • I've had dreams like this

  • amazing

  • this symphony gave me the chills

  • WAY COOL!!!!

  • That'll wake the neigbors.

  • anyone in the USA want to do this?? I do

  • Heres the scenario: Your working in the docks on a foggy morning. You hear this and then all the magnificent cruise liners that sank way back when are approaching the harbor. What do you do?

  • @TheSiberianyiffa

What do I do ? I probably keep on working for a few seconds, just enough time to realize I recognized one of the boats as one which sank at least 30 years before my birth. So I turn around and have a 2nd look ... to recognize other vessels which sank even longer ago. Then, behind, I see battle-cruisers, aircraft carriers, surfaced submarines, etc. supposedly destroyed many years ago. And then, me and my colleagues start to freak out and wonder what will come after they land.

  • @TheSiberianyiffa Grab a beer and stay very very VERY quiet :)

  • @TheSiberianyiffa

Cheech Marin in Ghostbusters 2 when the Titanic arrived:

    "Well, better late than never!"

  • @TheSiberianyiffa jump for joy

  • "Hey Will!! Neat sound!!"

    "What?!!"

  • amazing sound

  • Magnificent

  • NICE :)

  • l o l

  • the'll appreciate this in tibet

  • Wooow!!

  • The sunken ships of both World Wars are coming back from the depths ... ^^

  • ... a pod of

    gassey whales

    passing...

  • scary ass music

  • What the hell ? sounds like titanic coming back from the dead in fog.

  • @TitanicVE

    Same here, mate. ^^

  • @TitanicVE it does lol! Sounds really creepy...

  • @TitanicVE titanic actually had whistles, not horns

  • that's cool .thanks

  • why am i watching this

  • dont move near me lol

  • that took some doing

  • Very badass

  • me like haha

    so damn cool sounds.

  • ROFL, they probably had 15 people pressing the buttons for these.

It took 3 months of practice and 7 sound pollution fines...

But here it is, for your viewing pleasure.

  • LoL that´s like "Close Encounter of the First Kind"

  • What dissonance there may be sounds entirely appropriate imho. A moving piece, and a great idea; have always loved deep sounds. A. Sax may have enjoyed hearing this :)

  • OH THE DISSONANCE. Tune those damn horns!

  • awesome love it

  • what type of air supply is there?

  • @woodyate i'd imagine probably a group of large air compressors; quite a few powerful horns, and thus a need for a massive quantity of compressed air

  • When i hear this i think of Maximum Overdrive with ships until the end...

    o_o

  • Fascinating!

    How far away?

    Air supply?

  • Very much so. Ir does. OMG!!!!

  • I don't know if anyone else thought of it, but to me it sort of sounds like the theme music to 2001: A space oddessey.

  • haha yeah kinda does oO

  • @tubemaster2701 Yeah, Tats exactly what i was thinking.

  • Man that sounds awesome.

  • was on the deck of the plymouth to santander three years ago when the ship's horn went and I nearly bit through my tongue. I had goosepimples and the urge to cry. At the Tall Ships meeting in Rouen years ago, each night the ships blew their horns, and it was spine-tingling and very emotive stuff. Wonderful.

  • to a person like me, who spent all his life by the sea, this is not the mere sounds of ship's horns, but the ghostly voices of old vessels lost at sea, hark! can you not hear the tormented cries for help?

  • :) indeed!

  • Hearing this makes it feel like back home near the ports

  • Nice, a bit creepy like something lustmord would produce.

  • nice work! keep it going mate!

  • thanks for putting this one on youtube, that is my favorite sound in the world,it makes me feel like i am in a port with lots of ships and since i don't really live near a port,i can listen any time..got any more like this?

  • i love sounds like this to it seems to make me high - train and ship horns exspecisaly ship ones unless there is like a two train meet horn battle!

  • somewhere on youtube you probobly could hear a train horn battle!I know I found a few ship horn battles!I always wonder what it would be like to be on the deck of a ship when the whistle blows!I mean right next to it!!

  • amazing!Makes me think of sailing on a an ocean liner at night through the fog.

  • i love it, it is beautiful

  • same with me:)

  • close encounters of the 3rd kind.

that would be the damage with ship horns lol :)

  • imagin them doin the dixie horn round town

  • Gives me goosebumps x.x

  • it makes me sad like u can here the ships lost at see :(

  • wen I ear this, i feel the lost ships on the sea ....talk me, & said, we are death, we are lost

  • wow where did this clip come from? I bet these guys a havin a blast!!

  • compresor de aire y ena flauta o cualkier cosa ke se pueda soplar

  • WOW! It's very dark sounding at 0:31, I have goosebumps!!

  • one heck of a lot of volume of compressed air, or steam!

  • You should do the main theme from 2001 A Space Odyssey. I think you've got the right notes for it.

  • should make it happyier

  • no...this is great, I love the eerie, on the sea like sound.

  • Comment removed

  • 0:18 - -:26 sounds like a fog horn in a video i saw...

  • fantastic.

  • Reminds me of drone music...

  • it would be awesome to be there in person

  • that would be awesome to be a mile away...you get to keep your hearing and enjoy the music :-)

  • ............

  • Where was this recorded mike?

  • 2007 performance in London

  • @BIGMIKESOCAL How was it made? Did he have a bunch of ships in the Thames?

  • @Brad3374 Well i think he used The Great American Horn Machine...

    I think

  • @aussietraindriver Good question? Probably 100 yards away, I'm guessing, lol.

  • Tremendous sound!

  • there really is anything and everything on youtube

  • @DarkGodV Well said

  • most depressing thing ive ever heard, i love horns but please never use them to mkae music!! =]

  • Lol

  • From Brasil !!! mucho loco songs ...

  • If you could get them to play the five notes from "Close Encounters of the Thrid Kind" you could blow some people's minds, especially at night.

  • Very well done sir, Absolutly awsom

  • How the heck?

  • fkn awesome

  • Nice !!

  • this is verry cooll

  • Very Good, Mike.
