  • Real reasons people buy foreign

    5% - they like them

    95% - they're "hip"

  • Only morons buy Toyota

  • I can't understand why people hate the prius? It's still cheaper to run then a ugly american truck:p

  • oh my god this prius is too much holy shit oh god i am gonna die that gerbil under the hood is just too much!

  • She floored it and the Prius gave her a half-assed response.

  • The thing that no one realized is that Toyota like many Asian automakers does not perform these kind of quality/safety tests that other automakers are held to. If this was GM or Ford people would be flipping and starting up lawsuits all around the world. Taking the engineer look on this problem, any domestic car must have the breaking power to stop when the accelerator is fully pressed and do this within 25% of the original breaking distance. Gotta love how Toyota is 'such' a more reliable car!

  • You have disgusting feet.

  • Since when did toyota Prius have torque? Lol jk

  • @whatitis99 ok, ok understandable, however what about a later model Prius, or a different Toyota vehicle, or a totally different vehicle all together. Shifting into neutral and hitting the brakes is a sure fire way to stop your vehicle from moving, because the engine is totally disconnected from the wheels and the brakes work to stop the car

  • @psychoboy95 true but in a low powered car the breaks only would work but neutral would be a good option

  • That may be true at 70, but not at 90-110 mph. The brakes won't stop the car completely from that speed if the accelerator is stuck.

  • @psychoboy95 You don't quite understand. The accelerator can't stick. When you hit the brakes on a Prius the accelerator is disabled. It will do nothing. The car has to come to a stop. Didn't you see her hitting the accelerator when she was on the brakes? The accelerator did nothing.

  • @whatitis99 cars don't crash themselves, quit defending moronic people who don't know how to drive.

  • @stangbr0 What are you talking about? I'm not defending anyone. I'm certainly not defending the morons who wrecked their Toyota Prius and are blaming the car.

  • when you floor it, it sounds like my trucks AC turning on. lol, that cars a jokeeeee!

  • I actually did this to prove to my friend I wasn't driving an "out of control death trap of a car."

  • well its hard to see what the problem was with the car that the accident occured in, of course in a controlled setting with diagnostic machines strapped onto the car possibly while on a dinometer it is easier to come to a stop, maybe you are correct the gas pedal wasn't the problem but explain the breaks not working, u claim that they step on the gas instead, ok well in the 911 call the man driving says he even pulled the emergency break a totally different action from pushing on a pedal.

  • @BAULMOVEMENT the parking brake is mechanically linked to the rear drums, and would have slowed the vehicle down. That man was lying and was trying to cash in on the recall scare.

  • @stangbr0 by taking out his entire family with him? i highly doubt that. if a scam were in place the man would have driven solo and his family could have sued toyota and benefit from such a tragedy if someone were that desperate and willing to do so. quit defending the fact that it was a defect which infact happens year in and year out with different car makers its the luck of the draw and toyota failed big time.

  • That engine sounds badass !!... Keep driving that prius because my V8 Jeep needs the gasoline.

    Btw thanks for the video

  • it sounds like a microwave

  • Why do it sound like its struggling when it accelerates?

  • @BigTMoney121 because its a goddam prius?

  • @BigTMoney121 CVT transmission.

  • @firstmusic00 Thanks

  • In ANY CAR, not just Prius, the brake MUST OVERRIDE the engine.

  • @dmitriy40 However, the engine is really not the issue. The engine just charges the battery. The electrical power is the issue, and whether the electrical power to the wheels shut off like it was supposed to.

  • @bodryn In non-hybrid cars, pressing on the brake does not shut the engine off, the brakes are simply stronger then the engine. The Prius is smarter, since the power supply to the wheels is cut off/diminished when you apply the brakes. But even if that smart algorithm is malfunctioning, THE BRAKES ARE STILL STRONGER THAN THE POWER YOUR CAR IS SENDING TO THE WHEELS, be that electric or internal combustion.

People who exploit this scam bet on your not understanding the above.

  • @bodryn This video was supposed to demonstrate just that principle: THE BRAKES ARE ALWAYS STRONGER. The girl on the video apparently did not realize that Prius kills the power supply to the wheels when you press the brakes. She intended to keep 100% power, and still slow down the car simply by applying the brakes. And if Prius would not have killed the power automatically, you would see how BRAKES ARE ALWAYS STRONGER.

  • @bodryn Are you serious? You think the engine is just there to charge the battery in a prius? Do some research before commenting.

  • @stopindecentvidremov Apparently you are saying that when the engine comes on, the Prius leaps ahead with more power? If you want to correct me, maybe you can answer that question because it seems to me the performance would be irregular that way, and not what the public wants. This is far better than some vague statement to do some research. That in fact is what I am doing as I read sites like these. Vague comments merely obfuscate, do not enlighten.

  • @stopindecentvidremov hahahah he said that seriously? wow you know he didnt even know that the us government called toyota to the supreme court over the problem

  • it's a toyota microwave

  • thats called brake torquing your vehicle...DUMBASS...YOU DONT BELONG BEHIND THE WHEEL

  • @jonathanhernandez76 I've driven just about every vehicle known to man including 18-wheelers but I don't know what you mean by brake torquing. To say somebody doesn't belong behind the wheel is ignorant if you don't know the full scenario.

  • Nothing is proved by this video. Obviously this Toyota is working properly. But think about this scenario: The car is basically powered by battery power. You let up on the accelerator, but it still accelerates. What then? You apply the brake, but for some reason, it still accelerates. It apparently happened to Steve Wozniak, inventor of the Apple computer. If he thinks it's a software problem, I am inclined to agree. There needs to be a foolproof kill switch.

  • @bodryn If so many people, including Wozniak, have had this issue WHY CAN NOBODY SHOW IT HAPPENING ON VIDEO? Not one person has been able to prove there is a problem with their Toyota, yet on the videos like this one, which prove there is NO problem you just continue to argue the point.

  • Since when do you push the brake pedal with your left foot? And at the same time than the accelerator?

  • @stopindecentvidremov The way I originally heard it, via the news, is that the brakes on 2 of the wheels were badly worn, and that same car had to be stopped by a trooper driving in front of the car to slow it down, but by that time it was going uphill also and went up one of those truck lanes. I would say that under such conditions, it would be hard to take a video. He was doing well to survive what happened. As for this video proving something: how can ONE example prove ANYTHING?

  • @stopindecentvidremov How many people have a camcorder along when the car goes bad? And can you really imagine yourself in a traffic emergency thinking, oh yeah, I really gotta TAPE THIS and stop the car later?!? Come on, get real!

  • @bodryn You are clearly demented in the head. That fact that all of the stories of sudden acceleration have stopped now that its off the news every day has 100% proven there was never a problem in the first place.

  • @stopindecentvidremov Obviously the best way to prove your point is to make crude insulting remarks about my intelligence. How about the radical new idea that people might actually discuss the science and mechanics of the problem? I don't know everything, like to learn as I go. It doesn't help anybody to learn anything by calling them crude names. I can insult you too as an uneducated dolt. (I have 3 degrees.)

  • @stopindecentvidremov then why did toyota admit there was a problem? if there wasnt one at all why admit it?

  • @robby844 clearly you need to do some research on the issue. look up what happened to Audi in the 1980's. there customers claimed unintended acceleration too when there was really nothing wrong with the cars. audi completly denied everything and it almost put them out of buisness. toyota just made up a fix just to shut the people up and it worked. now all the sudden its not a story and nobodys crashing anymore.

  • @stopindecentvidremov i need to do more research? wow your an ass.you might wanna look at audi now with their radar braking. how many people have died because it doesnt work? and do you know why they wont admit failure? and why are we comparing 2 different companies that have NOTHING to do with each other ? i have done my research on the yotas.and nobodes crashing anymore because asshole toyota (if you would have done your research) fixed the problem.now if it wasnt a problem then why did toyota

  • @robby844 There was no problem. The "fix" made no difference at all. I drive the fucking cars every day. All they did was put a metal tab into the pedal to give it slightly more resistance. This does absolutly nothing.

  • @stopindecentvidremov wow it took you 3 replies to spam bs? and if there was no problem with faulty steering racks then why did toyota admit it? and if you werent so retarded then you would know that corolla also has the same exact throttle system (inside the car) and they were also recalled.since my sister owns a corolla its not that impossible to go to toyota and say you want the full report of WTF is going on.so pull your head outta your ass and just simply admit your'e wrong because you are.

  • @robby844

that was a problem of dumb drivers, and GM and others published it, nothing more

  • @robby844

that was a problem of dumb drivers, and GM and others published it, because toyota sold much more cars on their market than them, nothing more

  • @jakubek89 HAHAHAHA right right right.is that why GM outsold toyota 3 to 1? but im glad you blamed governmant motors and not ford because ford outsold GM 8 to 1 hahahhaha.make another excuse.

  • @robby844

maybe in us but not in whole world;)

  • @jakubek89 worldwide sales asshole.

  • @robby844 worldwide cocksucker

  • @stopindecentvidremov go to the supreme court and admit that it was a problem? not how a company should act if there wasnt a problem to begin with right? then why after the prius problem did they admit that brakes lines on over 3 million of its vehicles failed certain tests when conducted but they shipped the cars out anyway? again not something one should confess if there wasnt really a problem.right? so then we must beg to have you answer why they recalled over 4 million vehicles that had

  • @robby844 Your a fcking dumbass. 3 million prius? They havent even sold that many of the new body style yet you fucking moron. And there was never a problem with brake lines, they made a software change! Are you fucking retarded?

  • @stopindecentvidremov faulty steering racks.again not something one should confess if there was NOTHING wrong like you claim.so do YOUR research before you attack some one that knows more than you.

  • @robby844 There were never any toyotas with faulty steering racks! you have no clue what your talking about!!!!! There were some hoses that leaked. What fucking hose doesnt leak after awhile??

  • @bodryn Steve has come out and admitted he was wrong. He said he was "misquoted" and simply had an individual problem with his car.

  • @stopindecentvidremov Well, knowing the media, he could easily have been misquoted.

  • @bodryn its called turn the engine off..

  • @FevaFordaFlava So is that what YOU would do? Then watch your steering wheel lock up on you as you drive into the ditch or head on into another car.

  • @bodryn your steering doesn't lock up. You lose power steering, but you can still turn the car....

  • @bodryn Ha, it's called "neutral" :P

  • @clankandmatt Shifting to neutral of course makes the most sense, but if this unexpected event happens to you when you're driving, are you going to have the calmness of mind to think of it? The thing most people tend to do in a driving emergency is step on the brakes.

  • @bodryn It did not happen to steve wozniak you dumbass. He said he was misquoted and had an individual vehicle problem that was fixed by Toyota.

  • @stopindecentvidremov How do you know he said he was misquoted? Or did you follow the same media who is said to have misquoted him? I guess it depends on your source of information. Even smart people can be misinformed. But for a simple uneducated person, it might be hard to differentiate misinformation from stupidity. Far easier to insult the other than check for your own shortcomings.

  • @bodryn apple sux

  • @bodryn um....like the ignition switch?

  • @bodryn The Prius acceleration problem never existed. One instance was a hoax and the other was driver error, where the driver was pressing the gas but thought she was pressing the brake.

  • Comment removed

  • lol your pushing the gas and brake at the same time.you dipshits just dont get it.and the sad thing is this is a 2008 or newer prius.

  • @robby844 it's to prove that the electronic pedal control in the Prius will cut the throttle as soon as you touch the brake, no matter how far down the accelerator is

  • @ngkful on a 2010 prius the model THEY FIXED

  • @ngkful So, is that electronic cutoff foolproof? I know it should be, but is every single vehicle foolproof? With all the stories I've heard with this same problem, either we have a lot of fools driving, or the system needs to be more fail-safe.

  • @robby844 If you're stepping on the brake but the car is still accelerating, there is a malfunction in the car. I can see such a possibility in an electrically powered car without some kind of failsafe power cutoff.

  • @bodryn and thats what toyota admitted was wrong. DUH

  • @robby844 Oh, so they finally admitted it? Then why did all these other folks not get it?

  • @bodryn ummm what do you think they went to the supreme court for? they admitted the problem with the prius's and they had SEVERAL other problems.like the steering hose breaking cuz they werent made right.or they fact that they used ECM's that caused the cars to burst into flame if it wasnt fixed.

  • @robby844 People go to the supreme court for all kinds of reasons, including political ones. Thank you for informing me of that in your most kind way.

  • @bodryn wow.

  • Toyota is the scapegoat for GMs failure

a concerted effort made to be the bad guy overnight so that youll start buying GM

remember Jim Sikes "balloon boy" runaway prius fraud how much did Jim got paid for his acting stunt?

  • @emforty2 So it was all GM's fault? Maybe they could hire Jim Sikes as their new CEO?

  • automatic cars are for american fat people...... that don t know hot to drive

  • @buneaalexpetru It's actually the illegal aliens that scare me, and an illegal female will literally drive into the side of you because she's so stupid and doesn't know any better.

  • @AintLifeGarand right!

  • @AintLifeGarand Ah, so it's a political problem! What a relief!

  • @AintLifeGarand Illegal aliens like that rat Rupert Murdoch.

  • @buneaalexpetru Also for me because my left hip went bad and I had to quit using a clutch. I know how to drive: I used to drive 18-wheeler.

  • automatic cars are for american fat people...... that don t know hot to drive

  • WHAT A OUGLY FOOT!!!

  • Nice Hammertoes

  • Thank you for posting this video. It comes to show how people who complain about their unintended acceleration, and other various Toyota problems of late are full of themselves and are just WHORES looking for money and attention.

  • doesnt she have anything better to do with her time? Gaarsh never thought of hitting the brakes!!! Thanks foot lady!

  • I would have your entire brake system re-done after practicing that.....

  • Is this before or after the computer update?

  • man her feet gave me a boner...

  • When the throttle stuck wide open on my 1959 Corvette with 525 hp All I did was press on the brake. The brakes make some 3000 hp and a 525hp engine is 1/6 of that. I let the car go to 25mph or so and take off again, yep: brakes worked every time. And I still had the E brake, neutral and the ignition switch just in case! Well, the throttle stayed stuck so I had to turn off the engine, which I did. The Mufflers blew up like big M80's. My vette did 0-120 in 10 seconds and went 100mph in 2nd.

  • @IExposeMormonism The problem with switching the ignition off is that in most cars this also locks the steering wheel - so at this point you're going fast and unable to even steer anymore. This is why the general advice is: put the vehicle in neutral - the engine may suffer by over revving, but you should coast to a stop.

  • @bodryn Well, if people knew they had two positions.......But many people believe a 100hp car is going to overwhelm the brakes: Brakes make 3000hp+/- My 550hp 1959 Corvette did 40-120 in 7 seconds. Yet when it stuck wide open in 2nd gear (70-100mph) I just put on the brakes and stopped. But first I let it run up and slow down a couple of times, because it was 1985 when Audi was accused of the same runaway problem. And I proved my 550ph was no match for old drum brakes. And niether is a Prius

  • @IExposeMormonism I had an interesting experience some years ago: I was on a California freeway and was being tailgated by a guy in a station wagon. My usual response is to go a bit slower (no brakes) and they usually back off. This time, the guy got closer and made contact with his bumper. So I decided to put the brakes on. The trouble was, he had a big station wagon and I had a Ford Maverick. I couldn't slow him down, and my brakes started smoking. I was able to get away finally.

  • @bodryn I know someone that did that to a car that was bothering him! And so at an intersection, when the guy was in front of him, he just pushed the car out into the intersection and into traffic.....no one was hurt, just the car.

  • @IExposeMormonism Interesting: Tempting I suppose, but the best response to road rage is just to get away from the situation. The guy whose car got pushed into traffic could probably sue for damages and then it might be hard to defend by saying "He started it".

  • @bodryn My friend got into trouble but his insurance co decided not to cancel him.

  • whats up with the bunion besides ur big toe

  • You need to do something about that corn on your foot! Jeez girl!

  • What's up with the big ole lump beside your big toe?

  • try that with a broken prius bitch!

  • toyotas SUCK!

  • lots of people want 15seconds on TV and cash. hhaha

  • I had a blender once. It was supposed to "blend" things. I got it home and the blades wouldn't spin. I'm sure millions before me have a perfectly operational blender...however, I did not.

  • Maybe some of the car had some problem with the sticky pedal but don t forget that the average problem is 12 inch behind the steering and for that toyota can't do a damn thing

  • Eh. The whole point of the "jim sykes" story is that the car didn't do what it was supposed to do.There would be billions of stories of "unintended acceleration" if the car did NOT do what she did in this video. I don't find it extraordinary that 1 car was perhaps faulty. But I'm guessing the more likely scenario is he had very old brakes.

  • @ LG15Fan that Prius owner who claimed he was having 'acceleration problems' did this just because he was in Chapter 7 bankruptcy and that Prius was all he had left. He was doing this for money, no matter how much he denies. Jim had almost 'syke'd' the public.

  • Or that Mr Sykes is just full of shit.. its been proven.

  • The problem is, normal cars have way more engine power then breaking power. The engine turned off on this car when the break was held in, but try standing on your break and gas at the same time starting at 50mph, you almost certainly won't come to a stop if you are in a vehicle with a large engine.

  • @bruestle: Lol what? Normal cars have way more brake power than engine power. Braking from 60 to 0 can be done way faster and in a shorter distance than accelerating from 0 to 60, meaning your brakes are able to remove power way faster than your engine is able to apply it.

Any standard car will squash the engine if you apply full brake, no matter if you have the gas pedal floored or not.

Porsche claims that their 996 Turbo has 1900 hp stopping power vs 450 hp of engine power just to illustr.

  • boost!!

  • I honestly don't feel safe driving a machine designed by Dr. Eggman anyway.

  • That is the ugliest foot I have ever seen. Brakes havent worked with this default, just put it in neutral or turn it off.

  • the reason for what happened here is that the brake pedal overrides the gas pedal in a prius

  • What about slipping the tranny into neutral

  • Que horrible los pies de esa mujer, debería operarse esos juanetes.

  • did i just took advices from a brod.

  • @asianmanMLK Let a broad help you. "Did I just take advice from a broad?" And I see you are young. You'll get used to it. I know it's all shiny and new, but this is the norm.

  • Yes i am Young and proud of it and your old i mean OLD. BTW how much did Toyota paid you to do this fake crappy video again.??? Again dont be telling everyone your old on the internet that Embarassing.

  • Uh...Let this old broad help you again. I'm 28 by the way. And I didn't make nor post this video. It's shocking you even have the ability to post on here.

  • are you using the name Asian to make Asian looks bad???

  • Brakes will not win. When you have an open throttle you won't build up power brake assist vacuum pressure from the intake manifold. So if you press the bakes a couple of times you loose power brakes. The you are in a world of hurt

  • Achtung, mach schnell.........So how would you suggest I stop my 73 914 or

my 66 Mustang? No power assist!

  • Bhaggen, I would think you wouldn't be able to stop either very well. I think your Porsche has disc in the front but your mustang has Drum I also have Drum brakes with no power assist on my '59 356a Convertible D. I can tell you it takes a long time to slow down from 80mph. I just don't think drive by wire is a good idea in a car. I think Toyotas are shitty tin boxes.

  • The brakes on these are electric assist as well..

  • Haha this is funny. A good common sense answer to all those common sense lacking people. Haha @ :43. I'd hate to see her drive my car, she'd piss her pants :D

  • I like your feet.

  • yeah, great video, no speedo, can see nothing the OBDII Diag you have plugged in.

This is why the problem is called a glitch, the PCM doesn't regulate throttle normally, like you just demonstrated in the video.

  • The brakes are NOT controled by the electronics, brakes will win even at full throttle. It doesn't take that much to get

     brakes to smell.

  • @bhaggen They should win, but not always...

Remember there is a reason left foot braking is not adviced for novices, it eats brakes and makes them overheat quickly.

And it doesn't take too long to make brakes cross the 300 degree C marker, at which point normal road car brakes will experience fading.

In heavy cars that is definitely a problem, so pending on the car and engine it will in some cases be futile to use the brakes.

  • Then we did 4 consecutive full throttle runs to 75 and slamed on the brakes holding down the throttle. Each time the brakes won. In fact if we hadn't been wearing our belts our faces would have been part of the dash! And yes we could smell the brakes as well as the cat.........BRAKES WIN ! During

    subsequent service brakes looked fine.

  • Factor in brake wear... Fresh brakes will be more fade tolerant than worn down brakes...

On some cars you usually get a warning, on others you do not...

So a lot of cars out there run on very worn pads and rotors and do not spot it before the yearly checkup... Those run a high risk of this.

But like I said, try this in a heavy SUV where you got mass work against you as well and the brakes will fade before you get it stopped...

Pray you ain't on a downhill slope, because then you are screwed.

  • The car we tested was an 07 Prius with 60K and original brakes. The SUVs you are speaking of must be grossly under- braked. And then if you add 22" wheels and don't fill those wheels with larger calipers & rotors things get worse.

  • Even the CHP officer stated he could smell dude's brakes. I'll tell ya what I believe is happening. The computers seem to be flaking out and not accepting input during this "glitch phase." I have no evidence to back up my statement, this is merely an assumption.

I will say jokingly, however, that maybe this is the Japanese' Revenge for the atom bombs. They used Kamakazee pilots back then, what a better payback than to turn our country's citizens into Kamakazee drivers today?

  • You're 37 years old, time for you to grow up... Japanese revenge? You make the USA sound like retards...

  • That would be doing a favour to the world.

  • You stupid idiot BSNP, go back to your WWII closet and don't ever appear again! What I believe is that the smart/dumb ones in the good ol' USA are trying to get attention and perhaps some cash from the lawsuits... same old tricks only in the US of A!

  • Hey dude, go fuck yourself! To quote myself, "I will say JOKINGLY," so get off your high horse, fuckwad.

  • If you all can't take a damn joke, go take a flying leap off a bridge, fucktards. Sheesh, the ignorance of idiots online, I SWEAR!

  • Okay as a Prius owner heres something I have to ask, the brakes on the recent runaway Prius could be smelled burning, and the man states he was standing on the brake. If they smelled them burning he probably wasn't lieing, so what gives?

  • Let's say his brake didn't disengage the throttle as it should. The Prius has around 110 horsepower, which is quite weak. The most probable thing is that he lied about "standing on the brake" and instead gently pressed his brake for a long while. This heats up the brake gets them to smell. By the time the cop came, they were smelly and since he's not standing on his brake, he could still be moving very fast. On a different note; his track record doesn't portray him as the most honest person.

  • @horta12 or toyota put small cheap brakes on it...

  • Toyota confirmed yesterday from data stored on the computer that he pressed and released the brake and accelerator over 250 times. There is no other way of making your brakes smoke while you're still going at speeds of 94 mph. Sikes did NOT stand on his brake. There's many Youtuber's who've posted how fast a Prius's brakes will stop it when you "stand on the brake". Sikes is a complete fraud.

  • the problem with the toyotas isnt that they dont have the brake override feature its that the short or something that is causing it to speed up is either disabling this feature or rendering the brakes useless. look up this vid----GLHTC16V

  • NICE BUNYON!!!!

  • put your shoes back on, that's nasty and unecessary :o)

  • wow ugly feet girl crash the car and you in it. your friendly hater

  • old lady feet!

  • very nice demonstration, thanks.

  • i didnt know driving bare foot is suppose to help you brake :P

  • o burra claro que se tiras o pé do travão e mantens o acelerador a fundo ele arranca de novo!

  • Now waiting for the Runaway Prius guy's daughter to come out and say that his dad who is a Corvette Club member borrowed her prius with the purpose to be a good samaritan for GM (Government Motors) and help US auto industry a bit in these uneasy times. Ha ha ha

  • and you know it`s against the law to drive barefoot!.........na na na na na......i`m telling.

  • Your vehicle accelerates to a high speed with the accelerator stuck, you attempt to hit the brakes, the engine overpowers the brakes, the brakes fade and lose all stopping power.

  • And,..so when in this order of operations should u shift into neutral? With hundreds of Prius Taxi's, with hundreds of thousands of miles, and no stuck pedals... don't beleive it! Besides, i race cars, I know brake fade. Your brakes will overpower the 130hp ur engine makes. Even with brake fade, it will just take longer.

  • @FordFanatic59 go check out Car and Driver. They tested a 260+ HP Camry V6 and they disagree with you. From 60, the Camry with its accelerator on the floor stops quicker than a Ford Taurus (without its accelerator depressed). They were still able to stop it fine from 100mph. The Prius's 76hp engine doesn't stand a chance.

  • I performed the same test with my Prius and guess what? The car stopped completely. So what gives with phonies like James Sikes? And why is MSM so hot for him? Something is so obviously rotten about his whole deal yet over-made-up and coiffed talking air-heads give him center stage and credibility.

  • Why is it so hard to understand that the car possibly did NOT do what it was supposed to do? I could think of a million things that don't function or perform as they were intended.

  • Because the guy had $800k of debt and has been trying to make up for it in frivolous lawsuits for the past decade... the runaway Prius in SD is a hoax..
