    Im not sure what this video is suppose to accomplish. This video is not suitable for hearing, practicing speech, or speaking aloud.

    Its just loud music in the background. I know negative comments on youtube arent met well (I mean why would they) but Its hard to be "critical" when I see something so...obliviously...wrong.

    I am a teacher in South korea...so maybe thats why Im so critical.

  • @sexyboi142 there's two ways to count in korean, one is what you said. The other is 1-il 2-ee 3-sam 4-sa 5-oh 6- yook 7-ch'il (pronounced cheel) 8-p'al (pronounced like p'all) 9-ku 10-sip (pronounced like ship)

  • @sexyboi142 there are two number systems, Korean and Sino-Korean which is more Chinese inspired... you have to know both, especially when telling the time because the hour number is said in Korean and the minute number is said in Sino-Korean

  • I learned to count to ten in Korean because my old TaeKwonDo instructor, a native of Korea, counted cadence in Korean. He actually complimented me on my imitation of the Korean terms I heard over and over again, though I never learned to write them (low block, high block, middle punch, front kick, side kick, etc etc). But that was long, long ago.

    Make some more videos, Jimin! Romanized phrases would be helpufl.

Native Korean: 2 - dul 3 - set 4 - net 5 - daseot 6 - yeoseot 7 - il gop 8 - yeodeol 9 - ahop 10 - yeol Sure, the number songs that she sings in involves Sino-Korean numbers, which are definitely used in Korean, but Native Korean numbers are more common; you'll hear more Native than Sino.

  • i completely agree. Native Korean doesnt have words for big numbers like 1000 or 10000. Instead they borrow words from the Chinese. Same goes for the hours of the day, days of the week, and months of the year.

    Sorry, let me rephrase the point I was trying to make:

    The standard form of ACTUAL counting in Korean is Native, not Sino. You will almost never hear Sino-Korean when you see little Korean kids counting small numbers.

  • @yrohnchica just say.. 보고 싶어.. Bogo Shipo.. or to be more polite.. 보고 싶어요. 보고 means to see. from word 보는 to see 싶어.. means wanting. 싶다.. 싶습.. So saying I miss you in Korean.. is basically saying. I wan't to see you.. using the word 싶어 in Korean is a different level of expressing your wants. When you say you like food you literally say.. food good.. or 식품 촣아 Shik-p'um Cho-a or 식품 좋아요.. Shik-p'um Cho-a-yo or 식품 좋습니다.. Shik-p'um Chosumnida. 식품 = food package with drinks 좋 = good

    싶어 is used to express a deeper want.. like..

    for example.. I really want to go to Seoul.

    서울 가고 진짜 싶어요.. Seoul kago jinjja shipoyo.

    서울 = Seoul.. 가고 = to go from word 가요(go).. 진짜(really) 싶어요(want)

    But if you wan't to say you just like Seoul..

    서울시는 좋아.. i added 시..

    시 (shi) is understood as city if it is written after a name of a place

    like 부산 Busan.. 부산시.. Busan City.. its a shortcut.

    도시 (toshi) = City..

    So this sentence here.. 서울에 살고 싶어요.

    살고 = to live

    싶어요 = want

    and guess what? yes it means I wan't to live in Seoul

    서울에 살고 싶어요.. Seoul-eh.. Salgo shipoyo.

    the intonation is at (eh).. (sal). its rising in there.

    Seoul(eh).. (Sal)go.. Shipoyo

    글 Geul.. means writing

    한글 means Korean writing.. not Korean language

    Korea in Korean is 한국. Han guuk.. 국 guuk .. means nation so its nation of Han

    There are many ways to say Korean language in Korean

    조선 Joson (Korea also) 어 Oh (language) 조선어 = Korean language

    조선말. Joson-mal. 말 Mal (Speech) 조선말 = Is also Korean language

    This is in North Korea

    in South Korea.. 한국어 and 한국말 are the ones accepted.

    조선글. is different from S.Korean 한글. in terms of arrangement

    consonant terms.. and spelling.. usually .조선글 spells everything

    for example.. in 조선글 word for woman = 녀자. Nyoh dza

    in 한글 word for woman = 여자.. Yoh Jah

    there is also difference in pronounciation
