Athens 2004 were the best games ever! The games were praised and appreciated for their excellent quality in terms of organization, hospitality, symbolism, the level of the competition and athleticism, and the overall image transmitted worldwide. Although unfounded and wildly sensationalized reports of potential terrorism drove crowds away from the preliminary competitions, attendance picked up as the games progressed. Athens 2004 weree unique, dream games!

To panadem: It's just a matter of opinion. Some people like apple, while others like orange. If you think Athen's opening ceremony is the best, then so be it.
I personally like the Beijing one.

Yes we also watched. Athens 2004 Opening, it is quite good, better than my school SPORTS DAY!!. BUT CAN'T COMPARE To BEIJING!! Totally different scale if compared. Just look at the Athen's stadium, it is like a construction site!! If you HATE CHINA, please continue to HATE!! I don't blame you, being brainwashed by CNN and BBC western media. Poor thing living in the cave. Thank You!!

I 've just expressed my own opinion. This doesn't mean i don't respect the GREAT nation and tremendous history of China. I still believe Athens had been the best Olympics ever!!! Authentic, simple, in a human scale; olympic games the way they should be!!! China was anxious about showing the rest of the worls its strength! Nothing more...

Maye it's true, but do u know why? Let me tell you. China has been bullied by many western countries for the past 200 years. Even hosting the tourch relay encountered so many brain-washed peoples political flavor into it.
