I've been wondering what this scene was from for over 30 years, I've waded through every bigfoot upload on you tube trying to find it! This scene (at least up until bigfoot's hand breaking the window) was part of a commercial for this film/tv show (?) around '76 or '77 in the Richmond Va area.Never saw the film, but this scene has stayed with me all those years. As a kid of 7 or 8 it scared the crap out of me!
Saw this on TV in the early 80's when I was seven or eight. This scene was seared into my memory, and I could never forget that face when he opens the door. Creeped me out then, and still does a little bit...thanks for uploading!
I saw this documentary back when it aired on NBC. I was in the 4th grade and it still scares me just a wee bit everytime I watch the guy open that door. I can honestly say that seeing this Bigfoot special way back then is the #1 reason I am an avid Bigfoot Field Researcher. I love these old, hoakey Wednesday night specials from my "Welcome Back Kotter" days as a kid.
Finally I found it...saw this on TV as a trailer in mid 70's in Buffalo NY for the Drive-in...of course on my way upstairs to bed...where I slept next to a window....I slept with 1 eye open for years thanks to this movie.
I remember seeing this as a young boy and remember being scared shitless, lol. I will admit that these 70s bigfoot specials make me more "uneasy" than do the newer ones. Long live Bigfoot!!!
I remember seeing this movie at the Drive-in when it came out. At the part when he opens the door - the sounds of screams coming from other cars was almost deafening. I've never seen such an intense audience reaction to any part of any other movie since.
I sasw this in a movie theater back in the 70s in my hometown of Olympia, Washington. Bigfoot territory and we lived in a woodsy area with deer, raccoon, etc so there were some scary nights hearing things go "bump" in the night outside my bedroom window. I can still get chills thinking about it. Bigfoot exists.
In the book, the year is 1967, not 1975, the girl's name is Rita Lawrence, not Rita Graham, and the guy doesn't see anything when he opens the door. I wonder what else they changed?
he is the most interesting hominid in the world ..his breath smells like ass...hes been known to wilt a redwood tree just by walking by ..he has the mannors of a deranged pig ...he dont often drink urine but when he does its his own ...stay undiscovered my friends!!!
Oh yeah, this is probably the scariest thing I ever saw as a child. I was a kid who loved watching monster movies, and never had a problem when it was Hollywood make-believe, but this damn thing was supposedly real!
Scariest background music EVER! I remember seeing this as a kid and jumping out of my skin when the big bigfoot shadow goes by the window. GREAT STUFF!!!!
I saw this as a movie ad when I was a small kid. I was so traumatized, I ran screaming for my mommy and daddy. My dad was pissed that a TV station scared his son. LOL. Funny thing is, in my memory, bigfoot comes crashing into the room through the window behind her. So my memory was false for 32 years. I remembered it much differently. Funny how a traumatic event can be recorded differently in your memory and you swear that was how it happened. Anyway, now I can finally sleep at night. LOL.
"Funny thing is, in my memory, bigfoot comes crashing into the room through the window behind her."
ACTUALLY there IS a movie with that scene. You're thinking of a different movie. It's called "Curse of Bigfoot". You can download it from a site called cultrararevideos (dot) com
"Curse of Bigfoot" was actually made in 1958 with the title "Teenagers Battle The Thing". But it was rereleased and retitled (with new footage too) about 1976 to cash in on the Bigfoot craze.
I've uploaded the entire movie Curse of Bigfoot. You can see the scene I'm talking about in part 9:
e6yI4uLROuU
Technically, it wasnt a bigfoot that comes crashing through the window, but a mummy.
There are scenes in other movies where bigfoot sticks his hand through the window, but does not come bodily through. Just sticks his hand in. I'm thinking of "Legend of Boggy Creek".
No, it could also be that the TV commercial for the movie cut right from the part where "she heard a noise outside and turned to look" (if I remember correctly). Immediately then, they show the shot of the hand going through the window.
