This song is pandering, cliche-driven, right-wing nonsense set to tune of a commercial jingle. "And I'm proud to be an American / Where at least I know I'm free"--As opposed to being, say, Canadian, where you're tortured to death for speaking your mind? This was the song of the Reagan '84 campaign and it was played ad nauseum during the Gulf War. A patritoic song should stir feelings about why I love America, like "God Bless America" or "America the Beautiful"--this does the exact opposite.

She sang at Urban Network in Los Angeles and she sang "How Great Thou Art" She has an African American Nephew who was adopted by her sister from Ethiopia. Who she says "I love dearly".
