This arguement falls at the first hurdle the season starts on the 12th not the 9th. I would agree to the other comment about supporting other people such as keepers and beaters.
True a few privileged people inherit vast estates that allow for grouse to be shot but his argument fails to take some things into account. The estate holders must pay vast sums to maintain the grouse and their habitat. I would also argue that a good majority of grouse shooters are foreign clients who spend their money in the UK. Grouse shooting also directly provides income for many "working" class people ie keepers, beaters, sporting agents, etc not to mention the benefit to the economy.
