Dude great work...... it would be awesome though if UofM had the block M's and the signiture Yellow front on the helmets. but awesome awesome awesome work. i feel that ea is missing out on a huge part of hockey and college teams would be awesome for be a pro. play 4 years of college then get drafted.......idk might just be me thinking outloud......

It sucks they don't have the block letter colors like the white S for the Spartans and the block M for the Wolverines and yes cages would of been epic for this match up! I'm going to try this myself and see what works! :)

EA needs to just make NCAA Hockey already. Do like they did with Madden, After your 4 years are up you enter the draft and keep your created player going. I would buy that game in a second

how in the hell did u get the announcers to say spartans and wolverines???

The announcers will say the nickname for all of the teams already in the game and also for those that you make yourself in create-a-team. Both 'Spartans' and 'Wolverines' happened to be in the list of 100 or so additional nicknames that EA Sports included as nickname options.

While it is cool that Spartans and Wolverines were already listed, other nicknames weren't: Badgers, Lakers, Bulldogs are examples of nicknames not included. I had to be creative with some of the teams...

@john1842msu oh cool thats what i figured, what system do you play on? and it would be pretty awesome if they made an ncaa hockey game, but i think if they do ncaa it should also include the CHL i know its already in nhl but its not done correctly with arenas, players likeness and you cant play franchise with chl teams, it would be cool too see it all done correct, i would love to see my hometown arena where the ohl champs owen sound attack play, its so small but it be nice to see it re-created

this is really cool. A nice touch would have been to change the players helmets to the caged masks.

I didn't realize until after I had made these videos that the college style cages were available.  For NHL 12 next year, I'm going to do this again with 30 NCAA alumni teams, add the caged helmets and also hopefully be able to share the rosters with everyone on the PSN. Of course this is dependent on the EA development team adding an EA Locker like they do for the NCAA Football series.

@john1842msu Ya man I did this same thing too bad they don't allow roster sharing we could have teamed up and made it unreal. I put all the alumni on their former college teams. I actually edited every player player and gave them the college cage and also gave the goalies chl masks. Took a long time.. For some teams like Northeastern i just used the black hawks because their jerseys are almost identical.

I just used Windows photoshop. Took a college hockey pic from internet and photoshopped it together with the NHL 11 cover.

You can't just type in what you want for team names unfortunately. So I had to use Grand Rapids for MSU and Flint for U-M. Luckily, both 'Spartans' and 'Wolverines' were available as nicknames, so those are at least accurate.
