I might have the answer for the leon thing. The guy in ff8 is squal he uses the name leon in kingdom hearts. The name leon belongs to a flashback caracter in the game ff8, squal really respects that guy and that is why he uses his name in kingdom hearts :-)

Most of the editing done is from the game itself.

It was simply put together with fading effects.

But when it shows Rinoa all faded or blurry, etc it's part of the game when Squall thinks about all his memories when he's lost at the end without Rinoa.

The guy with the brown hair and black clothes is Squall, the girl with black hair and blue clothes is Rinoa. The guy at the end with blonde hair Squall is fighting is Seifer. I'm pretty sure all the animation is from FFVIII. Some of it I don't recognize, probably because I couldn't beat the final boss, since she sent all my guys into compressed time, or something. I hope that helped. =]
