My mum went to that place and she was playing at a cave nearby in low tide, then 5 minutes later...... BAM! she turned around and the water was creeping towards her pretty fast and she didnt know how to swim,. She said it was one of the scariest things she has ever seen!
imagine getting shot out to sea by the undertow... .OUCH. are you suggesting that these environments can be DESIGNED and trenched so that the moon does this to the coast line all over the place? like an entire coast of these trenches? with electric generators attached?
The wonderful Fundy Bay is the perfect candidate place for applying new Aero-Aqueous multi purpose renewable power station design, specially at the neck of bight Minas basin where the bay narrows to almost 4-7 Kms in the distance starting from Cape split and up to 8 Kms east of it.
North to south consecutive arrays of floating submersed wheels could be placed in such area to help catch high tidal energy plus bridging the two bay sides.
If you are in the United States go north-east to Maine and turn right. The body of water that separates Maine and New Brunswick from Nova Scotia is The Bay of Fundy.
The Bay of Fundy's tide is equivalent to the power of all the rivers in the world combined - the earths crust bends as this tide comes in. Enough power to light up millions of homes - I know, I live here.
Well, I guess that depends on how large the Bay of Fundy is and how much water is displaced every day. I would venture to say that, assuming the geographical layout of the bay was capable of being manipulated by dikes and levees, one could extract a very meaningful amount of energy from this location. Remember, you don't have to produce 100 megawatts to make a difference. The cost versus benefit of a setup like this might be fairly unfavorable--but sustainable nonetheless.
Why does the poster of this video advocate that any future hydroelectric energy created produce Hydrogen? Could it not be fed more efficiently to a Plug-In Toyota Prius (or equivalent) via the electrical grid? By promoting complicated technologies that lack infrastructure you destroy the public's sense of trust. Biofuels are also not the answer and government subsidization of ethanol-producing crops is contributing to the world food shortage. Don't buy everything you hear.
the album is in my tops list i can only asume joni is talking of places near where she lives although i have no idea where the bay of fundy is i would apresiate enlightenement. all the best.
Located in Burlington Vermont USA - sometimes called the west coast of New England! Not much tides here but traveled to Nova Scotia and was intreged by the Bay of Fundy. Your videos last "bare bottom" part was great but it looked like it was getting dark.
The video is at Hall's Harbour and I'll be updating it this summer, in better quality, and hopefully nearer the middle of the day. Its kind of like fishing - not knowing just what you have till you get home to view it.
You can who the newcomers are; their boats dangle from short lines tied to the pier!

If I am not mistaken, I believe this is Halls Harbour, on the bay of Fundy side of the North Mountain, I have family down in Harbourville.

You're absolutely right. If you go to "Bay of Fundy 2" you'll see the tides from several locations around the area.

Eastern Canada - separates Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
If you're in the US, follow the coast north from Maine, its all Bay of Fundy.
Not sure what Joni Mitchell's connection is.
