Someone clarify what Google Wave was supposed to be used for. Was it supposed to be trying to compete with other social networks? I understand Google+ is supposed to be kind of simultaneously integrating multiple Google features, while kind of "competing" with Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Foursquare, (MySpeace?) etc.. What did they want Wave to be?
I don't undestand, I think Google Wave's concept WAY better than Twitter's, and yet Twitter is EXTREMELY popular and Wave is practically dead. I really wish Wave had been as a worldwide phenomenon as it was announced. I'd enjoy using it...

@cowlord14 Thanks already got an account, but have no idea how to use it. Is not compatible with msn messenger or even twitter it's like a mysterious MAC-fan thingy. And when I get there there is not even a link to gmail or other place. It's like hanging there. By the way I'm tired of seen people watching their phones.
@capitanqueso That is not google waves fault. I had a bit of trouble getting used to it but its pretty intuitive after a little while. All that stuff you said works, plus it is still in beta so... don't expect it to be perfect

@Luiji99 I see how this will soon replace the traditional email. Let's say that you have a class group project... this would be a way more efficient communication tool than conventional emails and folders... You would also have to be organized, otherwise...
@luke5019 Personally I think it will never replace email for simple messages, such as YouTube notifications and stuff, but it will probably replace stuff where a file is sent for people to view. For example, if people submit a graphic to their friends so they can easily comment.

@acidvertigo If you are watching this from google wave, and you click on a new wave, the current wave you are viewing will disappear. That video is embeded onto the wave so when the wave disapears, so will the vid with him in it. Once again, he's assuming you are watching this from inside google wave.

I'm glad his video was positive for you, however, It was not helpful for me. I would prefer someone to try not to be a comedian & just explain it in plain English. We aren't all computer geniuses. That's why we didn't invent the social websites ourselves. I have not used Wave once since I received the invitation a week ago. I signed on, I looked, I tried, I left.

well the thing is, wave is brand new in so many different ways...even if you're just posting text back and forth, it transmits LIVE, so you dont spend time waiting with a lame "xxx is typing"
Also, it is faster because unlike an email, it doesn't really "go" anywhere...its on the same server.
Other than that, it also has nifty features like whiteboards, video embedding, drag-and-drop pix etc.
is there one i can load that a lot of people are working on as a group? almost like a wikipedia type conglomeration? strangers working on something?

it's to do stuff all online, the next step of google it's to do ur computer just like a browser, that means all ur HDD content should be in servers and you can access it and that so on, in this waves you can do a lot of stuff that is the why you don't understand it, it's just too many things, the one that is cool it's like doing live chatting,make bots,put bots,damn sorry it's too much,it's like a mini operating system,with a lot of tools/programs,just read and you will get an idea ;)

well the thing is, wave is brand new in so many different ways...even if you're just posting text back and forth, it transmits LIVE, so you dont spend time waiting with a lame "xxx is typing"
Also, it is faster because unlike an email, it doesn't really "go" anywhere...its on the same server.
Other than that, it also has nifty features like whiteboards, video embedding, drag-and-drop pix etc.
Its really cool!

unfortunetly for the first impression it failed, i got firefox 3.5.5, when i started the session, it said that i'm not using Chrome or Safari 4 or Firefox 3.5 or higher... it failed in the first run :/

Ive made comments about most companies against their favor too, google included, when i feel something is shitty.
Credit where its due.
I consider what services are offered vs what i have to give up for their services, and if i feel the deal is fair, i sign up.
About data privacy? other than the demographic marketing feedback, i'm guessing most of my info is already available somewhere if someone really cared to dig for it.

it's to do stuff all online, the next step of google it's to do ur computer just like a browser, that means all ur HDD content should be in servers and you can access it and that so on, in this waves you can do a lot of stuff that is the why you don't understand it, it's just too many things, the one that is cool it's like doing live chatting,make bots,put bots,damn sorry it's too much,it's like a mini operating system,with a lot of tools/programs,just read and you will get an idea ;)
