  • they touch, they touch! Best Nascar Finish ever!

  • HAVE YOU EVER? NO I NEVER!!!!!

  • I saw at first Stock cars called then Grand National 1969 and i thought wow what great monster!

  • Really the last Nascar racing year with the ole´boys

  • I don't call myself a NASCAR fan, but this is awesome!

  • and NASCAR doesnt think darlingotn needs a second race! i say darlingotn needs bout 4 races a year!!!!

  • best finish in nascar

  • see, and everyone says nascar is fake, this is what got me watching this!

  • 1:28 "have you ever"

    "NO IVE NEVER!"

2007 daytona 500 "Im gonna says what i heard i few years ago: no ive never"

  • Have you ever?

  • @nascarfanatic2425 no I've never. lol

  • @nascarfanatic2425 No I've never.

  • "NO I'VE NEVER!" LOL

  • epic finish!

  • LOL< he said the same thing today at Talladega with the #48 "Have you Ever?..." Great stuff!!!!!

Also, this is why Nascar needs to change these identical cookie cutter stock cars with stickers to show which one is a Impala and which one is a Charger..What wins on SUNDAY sells on MONDAY..and the Pontiacs long swooping nose won this race!!!

  • I love how DW is openly telling us who he wants to win

  • @bluesrock09 I think he was just rooting for him for the sake of a good race and a good comeback finish. =P

  • @twitch043 That's always why DW pulls for somebody, simply for the excitement. He pulled for Craven, he'll pull for Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon, and Dale Jr. It just depends on the situation.

  • Jimmie and Boywer just tied it today at talladega!!!! what a finish

  • Craven was 0.002 seconds poorer and stupider :DD

great driving, it's a man's fight, not like those pussies in f1 who start whining if someone comes to close to their cars.

  • @kpingvin 002?? Just as today's Aarons 499.

  • @LeoBruno1000 Yeah, I'm worried about that Jimmie Johnson guy now. He's dumber than spit. lol XD

  • @nascarfanatic2425 He's amazing... I'm his fan...

  • @LeoBruno1000 I was just joking man.

  • @nascarfanatic2425 Good,otherwise i'd have to kill you...

  • @LeoBruno1000 Come on, don't you remember when South Park did a parody of NASCAR? The name of the episode was Poor and Stupid, and that was one of Cartman's lines, so don't take it too offensively.

  • @nascarfanatic2425 I was joking man...;P

  • I was there, 5 rows from the track, and a few hundred feet from the finish line. Also straight across from Craven's pit box. Almost 8 years ago and still gives me chills when I watch this video. Great race.

  • best race ever without a question

  • Have you ever, no I never. This was an awesome race that came right down to the wire. It dosen't get any better than that.

  • fuck, that was intense!

  • this video never gets old... great racing, and watching a busch brother lose is always enjoyable

  • best finish i have seen in a while.

  • Somehow the commentators ruin this completely.

  • This was truly the last great year of NASCAR

  • Saw this as my 1st race. Ive been hooked since.

  • if busch wouldn't have lost power steering he might've won but im glad he didn't

  • Loved this race...awesome finish!

  • If you ain't rubbin....YOU AIN'T RACIN!!

  • @kmtdog1 Amen to that

  • amazing finish ^^

  • Gotta love "rubbin is racing" feeling that happened there. Nobody was black flagged for trying to win.

  • this was 03 or 04

  • i remembered i watched this race.

  • last pontiac ever to win a race in nascar

  • DW was pulling for the Tide car...wonder why...lol!!!

  • nascar needed this back in 2003 because after 2002 where there was no last lap passes in that season in 2002.

  • haha the crew member at 1:33 "Ah, gee whiz"

  • Thats why I love DW hes a fan like the rest of us, I love how he was rotting for Craven

  • Nah-Nah there driving good!!!!

  • I'm from Maine and I was beside myself. To this day my computer desktop image is that photo finish.

  • I've never gotten how they were able to tell instanly who won this race without havin' to look at the scorin' monitors when it was about a inch that decided it, but the 2000 Craker Barrel 500 they had to look at the monitors to see that Earnhardt won by a foot, still, greatest finish ever!

  • i remember that live i was on my feet in the living room screaming, come on baby!

  • man, i'd love to have seen an onboard from Blaney

  • they arent lying when they said he won because of the long nose the pontiac has awesome finish i saw it live

  • wow thats incredible

  • was there

  • I WAS THERE!!!!!!!!!

  • The Closest Finish In The History Of NASCAR!!!!!

  • kurt got loose on the last turn

  • i still get goosebumps and cold chills everytime i see this finish! rockypc48 did an amazing re-enactment of this finish too. i miss this kind of no-holds barred racing this was REAL racing!

  • This was the first NASCAR race I attended. It was also Darlingtons 100th NASCAR race and before the race Dodge Daytona and Plymouth Superbird wing cars did a lap around the track.

  • How are they playing favorites? They're doing what they're paid to do, call an exciting finish.

  • I remember that race also. What a race.

  • I remember watching this on TV too. What a race but im a Busch fan.

  • wow what a finish!!! i remember watching this on TV it was crazy lol to date I haven't seen a crazier finish like that!!

  • Better then any other mtorsports finish you'll ever see.

  • Damn, I miss this kinda racing and the 90's!

Dont get this kinda racing now.

  • this video never gets old. one of the greatest if not the greatest finish in nascar and you can listen to this video and it will still get you excited

  • Watching this video I can't help but to smile. Then I get a little bit sad, because this was the end of the era where a little guy like Craven (or Blaney) for that matter, had a realistic shot at pulling off a win (not including Keselowski at Talladega). Still wish they would have had one more lap, because with another lap Blaney would've probably had both of them. He was bad fast this day.

  • @speeddemon79 Looks the little guy can still win after Regan Smith's victory last night...at Darlington no less!

  • Whatever happened to Ricky Craven?

  • ESPN analyst, I believe.

  • Best finish ever. And no, the new cars and tracks just aren't worth watching in the same way as Darlington, poor raceless Rockingham, etc.

  • nascar needs to go back to the old car they had better races

  • Decent collection of UTube:

    NASCAR Finishes & Crashes (Non-Fatal)

    NHRA Top Fuel

    70s Muscle Cars

    LOTS OF NOISE, SMOKE, BURNOUTS

    Sit back grab a budEnjoy!

  • This is why Darlington needs TWO dates! Take away one cookie cutter race and give one date back to Darlington!!

  • dw is crazy

  • Darrell Waltrip said "I dont know what kept them from waddin' it up in turn one, but Damn! Oh Boy!" lol

  • he said "bam" not " damn"

  • Nah i replayed it about 10 times, he did say "Damn"

  • This was aired on Fox man, he did not say damn, he said BAM. And that's a fact.

He was exclaiming "bam" as the two cars hit together, it's blatenly obvious.

  • He said "Bam."

  • It's "bam." Sorry. DW says it right at the moment of contact.

I watched this race live, watched it literally dozens of times on my TiVo, and I never once thought Waltrip said "damn." Rewatched it three times here, and still don't.

    It's "bam!"

  • Amazing finish, I'd love to see something like that again sometime soon

  • I really wish Dave Blaney would've won this one.

  • I think he would have had a great chance to win if he had more time

  • Aren't the commentators supposed to be impartial and not blatantly root for one of this competitors?

  • I don't think it matters; I think it actually makes it more memorable when they go from calm and collected early on to wild and crazy on the last laps. It makes it much more heart-pounding, as well.

Of course, I don't want to be watching Chicagoland next week and hear the commentators outright rooting for one driver the whole time, too.

  • man i sure am glad that they took a race away from darlington and gave it to freakin california.

  • Bad Ass Finish!!!!!

  • i still believe he wouldn't have won without the pontiac nose which protrudes like an extra 3 inches from the car...

  • As opposed to your definition, which you never gave...

  • Stereotypical bastard

  • have you ever? No I've never! HAHAHA

  • lol at Darrell Waltrips laugh at 1:35 to 1:38

  • Imagine if they wrecked and Blaney won.

  • They were wrecking---but they both took the checkered flag.

  • NASCAR?

    Fucking awesome.

  • @MrSportsFootball NASCAR= Awesome

    IndyCar= Ehh... not bad

    F1= Follow the leader= boring= SUCKS.

  • Have you ever ..... NO I NEVER ... ;-)

  • man... Great Ricky ! wath a finish baby !

    yeah !

  • the good stuff starts at 1:11

  • I love DW's laugh at 1:37.

  • Fantastico, isto e que e uma chegada!

    Fantastic! this is very finish!

  • I remember seeing this.

I flipped through the wall, especially considering I didn't really like Kurt Busch then.

  • I miss Pontiacs..

  • man this was SUCH a good finish....i remember going crazy!!

  • If this race didnt have you jumping up and down in your living room, you didnt have a pulse.

  • This is when Nascar was the definitive autosport, now look how far the excitement level has fallen...

  • did you not see talladega???

  • I did, but my comment was about the sport in general. Yesterday's Darlington race was also a good one, but I'm just referring to the average race. I know they still have good ones, but they're coming further and further apart.

  • lmao im not even a nascar fan at all and that made me smile

  • Goodbye Pontiac. Thanks for all the memories!!!

  • Craven was cool...it was good to see him come back from those terrible crashes to run well in that 32 car. Good man...

  • harika

  • I would love to hear a story from anyone at the race that day watching the finish

  • haha i was at that race... me and my dad sat 8 rows from the finish line... all of people around us were standing up and then leaning forward to see who actually got the win... then we all went NUTS... it was one of my greatest experience in my whole life... i'll never forget that race!!

  • lol D.W. cracks me up. "nah there driven good", "here e comes, here e comes","CRAVEN got him". hilarious. i remember i was jumping up and down on the couch and fell off when they crossed the line. my friends thought i was nuts, most of them never seen a race b4.

  • i was at that race

  • Your right the "New Bristol" does sucks. There is more side by side now but not as much bumpin and booting people out of the way, like it should be.

  • Agreed, the Food City 500 sucked this year. The whole point of Bristol is tight, rubbing is racing.

  • Gotta love these guys

  • They Sure Kicked Their Ass When They Were Coming To The Checkard Flag!!!!!

  • First time-"Craven got him"

Second time, just incase you missed it-"Craven got him"

Third time, cutting off Mike Joy in the process just to be positive you heard him-"Craven!"

  • Now that's racing, you don't see that anymore in nascar. Most of the races are boring now, except for Daytona, Bristol, Richmond, and sometimes Martinsville.

  • what about talladega

  • That's restrictor plate racing---this isn't.

  • new bristol sucks

  • CRAVEN!

  • Greatest. race call. Ever.

  • D.W.:Here he come, here he comes. He's got him this time!

Larry Mac:It's gonna be a drag race,

    All:WOW!

    Larry:THEY TOUCH ,THEY TOUCH,

    All scream various things

  • one-onethousandths of a second the closest finish ever.

  • pretty close. not as close as Logan Gomez in the 2007 IRL who beat Alex Lloyd by 0.0005 seconds (0.5 milliseconds) but that was in the IRL, this is nascar

  • "Both cars are driving terrible right now" - Larry Mac

"Naw, Naw their driving good" - D.W.

"Have you ever.... " - Mike Joy

    "No I've never... " - D.W.

I just love the commentary... D.W. is probably one of the funniest and in my opinion the best announcer for a usually fairly boring spectator sport...

  • Ah man, I drove 10 hours to see this race from eastern PA, that was 2003. Now, I change the channel when I see Nascar highlights on ESPN. I just hate what it became. Oh well, with the IRL, at least one "premier" league is heading in the right direction, instead of the going backwards. Doesn't matter though, dirt has always been where the real racing is

  • i love the simultaneos scream at 1:20. GREATEST FINISH EVER

  • greatest finish ever

    go busch brothers!

  • I remeber this i didnt get to see it live :{

  • i was watching the NASCAR in-car on demand shit and the had a track map on the corner of the screen i saw the #97 bubble exit turn 4 and when it got to the line i saw it change to the #32 so i had no idea who won i turned the tv over to FOX just in time to see the replay after that i was so pissed because i didn't get to see it live only the replay

  • "Have you ever?"

    "No I've never"

  • "Have you ever?"

    "No I've never"

  • -Have you ever...

    -No I've never!!!

  • And that was only 5 years ago. It's so shitty now. Brian France can go to hell.

  • I was in the stands that day on turn two,the first NASCAR race I ever attended!

  • This was no doubt the greatest finish in Nascar history, The underdog wins, a really fricken close finish, and beating and banging to get there.

  • After seeing this it completely makes sense why helton took away the spring race. NOTICE THE THRILLING FINISH NASCAR? Phoenix and California WILL NEVER REPLACE DARLINGTON!

  • One of the most historic tracks on the circuit.Cutting the second race is almost criminal!

  • I remember that race, it was then and I think will forever be one of the most if not the most exciting finishes ever in racing history. Still gives me goose bumps!!!

  • l o l!Both of these cars are driving terrible right now, naaaah naaaah there driving good.:)l o l!

  • I could watch this a thousand times and not get tired of it.

  • waltrip keeps sayin "come on baby" lol

  • what happened to craven's nose for it to be pushed in

  • I was there, sitting on the back streetch, I had to ask the guy standing beside with the radio who won... I could not tell... Great race at a great track... love the track to tough to tame....

  • hehe i love DW:NAH THERE DRVIN GOOD

  • this is good old hard racing

    craven 4 life :D

nascar races now are too safe and too sappy..its no fun to watch

  • Ppl talk trash about DW and his broadcasting, but He is by far the best guy we got on either Fox or ESPN,He puts real feeling into it,Unlikr these corporate ass idiots we have,,The worst is prob Alan Bestwick or that fag on NBC that intro's everyone,Cant remember his name!!

  • Gotta love NASCAR and The COY

  • A shame NASCAR shipped one of Darlington's dates to Auto Club Speedway.

  • i know! you send a date from one of the best tracks to one of the worst.

  • Kurt Busch is the man anyway

  • Its not like a finish like that can't happen again in the car of tomorrow, its just extremely unlikely it will ever happen again, but that finish is exciting every time, DW does great broadcasting.

  • thats awesome racing i wish it was the same as that now but they had to change to the car of tomorrow

  • sub for sub!!!

  • i kinda feel bad about blaney, still hasnt won a race, if he had a couple more laps, he wuda passed em both.

  • did DW say "DAM!" at 1:51?

  • he said bam

  • lol your right

  • damn thats exciting every freakin time!!!

  • WOW!! Never, and I mean NEVER, will there be a finish as exciting and/or close as that one again. Awesome finish!

  • hola te pido si este video lo podes pasar 3gp

    porque este video esta bueno

  • other than the 1959 daytona 500 that was the best finidh in nascar history

  • damn damn damn, that was a nice finish
