@aeriusmetal Stock MAF sensor bolts right up to all kits. No need for a replacement. All it does is measure the amount of air going into the engine so that the computer can compare it to the o2 sensors in the exhaust to control the fuel system. Thanks for watching!
just curious since I'm relatively new to this kind of stuff but does installing one of these mess with the mass airflow sensor? like do I need to get a new one so my engine light doesn't come on? or does it work with the k&n right from the getgo?(obviously with the right model for the specific car)
nice video bro,kit looks and sounds good! Are you using a flowmaster 40 series original?
oh and just so you know, almost all k&n air filters come pre-oiled,there are ones that dont come pre-oiled but do come with a 1 time use lil oil tube/packet to oil before use, and there are fewer filters that dont come with either but the box is clearly marked "unoiled".
I bought one for my truck, after watching your video.I have a nearly identical truck (2000 non stepside, with about 150K miles, same engine and all) Installed it today, took the laptop out to the truck to watch your video as I installed it...I cleaned the throttle body (per your video),and mass air flow sensor while I was at it. I'm elated thank you.Only trouble I had sandwhiching the MAFS with the gaskets, shield, getting those screws all lined up was the most time consuming. Thank you again,
@slowride55 Yes it was very easy! I bought a wiring harness for my truck (was like $15) that plugs into the truck's original harness. that gets spliced to the new radio's harness. The space in the dash is big enough for a "double din" unit so sense mine is single din I had to buy the bezel cover to cover the hole in the dash. I also did all the speakers, I just used self tapping sheet metal screws to attach them. Thanks for watching!
I just got mine for Christmas. I got a throttle body spacer too so I had to wait and get threaded rod so it'll fit. But I can't wait I'm pumped. I'll be getting a flow master muffler too. I got a 2005 silverado reg cab 4.3 I think it's going to be a little harder to put on with the spacer
I got my K&N intake for my 4.3L S10 zr2 about a year ago for my bday and mine came pre oiled already. I was kinda disappointed with it, the only thing i noticed was a little better gas mileage. I couldnt tell a difference in power and i was very disappointed with not being able to hear it suck in the air. but that may be because my exhaust is too loud
@200309214 yeah i'd imagine if you had stock exhaust the suckin would be more noticeable. I only notice it when I let off the gas at the end of a gear when its still pullin, sounds like a turbo lol. I've noticed better gas milage and much quicker throttle response and i've had the kit for awhile now. thanks for watching man
@aldorico7 that is very strange, the tube is probably the most restrictive part of the stock intake and where on the cai most of the gains are going to be at. would there be anything in the way if you tried to put the kit i have on your motor? it cant be that much different, but i've never seen under the hood of the new 4.3 though.
@aldorico7 This kit would not fit, i'd suggest looking into other CAI companies. i personally havent seen the newer 4.3s i dont know how different they are if you want dimensions i can get you them but i'd be willing to bet it wont fit just because it isn't advertised for the new body style. when it comes down to it plastic tubing is plastic tubing, but i would recommended Volant, spectre, or banks. Its weird that they don't have any for the 4.3s for the new body style yet. thanks for watching
You have an awesome last name bro (saw it on the box)

you thin kit would fit my 2008 chevy silverado 4.3L
or no? because the new body style 4.3 does not have an intake and i want to buy the older model
but do you think it will fit?
