  • I had thought all British intellectuals were socialists. God bless you, mates (Figuratively, not literally)!!! There's is hope!

  • It reminds me SO much of America!

  • blonde saxon prostitutes can go to china and export their services. the problem is, they will have to compete with low-wage blonde russian whores.

  • Love the video - wish everyone in the USA watched it!

If you are interested in having a longer video in YouTube you can use this software to take any length video and snip into YouTube approved timeframes and then it creates a video playlist - check out Vidsnip dot com

  • @VidSnip trust me, this was a first for british television, and most people here still won't listen to it.

  • Excellent video exposing Communism, imho. From everyone according to his abilities, to each according to his needs, eventually leads to a race to prove who in society has the greatest need. Productive workers end up lazying around so that they do not produce more than the average. The average, over time, keeps trending down leading to lower standards of living.

  • In New Zealand we have a huge number of people who are beneficeries who live off tax money. They are also high users of police resources, hospital resources and other tax payer paid social services. Massive drain!

  • @kneesalesman and half of them are immigrants!

  • @MrMiketron I don't agree when it comes to NZ. Most immigrants come here and work very hard for minimum wage or less. It's our native population who fill the dole ques as well as the prisons, police cells and hospital beds.

  • whole program: watch?v=7gd6-zfeeaM

  • Channel 4 seems to be getting some balls, didn't they run a show on how the Green movement has fucked up recently?

  • If anyone wants a copy of the whole program.

  • In the 50 pound scenario suppose, instead of having the civil servant spending the 50 lb at an expensive French restaurant, it goes to a man who was shortchanged on his public education, has a large family and just lost a manufacturing job that moved to China. This man takes the 50 lbs and spends it at a neighborhood grocery store, an anchor of the community, on necessary foods items to feed his family?

  • Good info. Everyone should get taught this.

  • 5 star video. Thank you.

  • take out the middle man.. goodbye government elitist control.

  • Thank f*ck someone points this out - I'm so fed up of people forgetting that the Public sector is the leech on Private Industry.

In the words of David Starkey "The Public Sector does not make money. It would be lovely if it did, but it doesn't"

I wish they'd force the BBC to show this...

  • @tdp1909 There's not a wax cat in hell's chance of the BBC showing this LOL

  • @richiesherman True. 2 b fair they've at least stopped their more obvious bias against the coalition. Freezing the licence fee quickly shut them up!

  • so what have we learnt? labour love a massive public sector.

conservatives like a big private sector. we have years of labour increasing it and making the country worse off, then the conservatives have to come in with unpopular ways of correcting labours mess, then repeat

  • Watched this last night, brilliant. Can we have more clips please from the full documentary? Can't believe how much s**t we are in. Did you see the bit where he threw 50 pound notes out the window every second? If it was the national debt he would have started throwing them out in 1000BC!!!!!!

  • There were a few things I wish this documentary covered.

For a start, who do we ultimately owe all this debt to? Also, it talks a lot more about problems than solutions. It's nice that China is doing things differently and getting results, but how does that help the UK get out of this mess?

I appreciate that this documentary is probably very one-sided, but I'm still glad I watched it. You'd never hear any of this from the people who actually run our country :(

  • Comment removed

  • @sbowesuk Where our national debt is financed by Government Bonds we owe anyone who purchased those bonds, hedge funds, large financial institutions, individuals etc. The irony is when the Bank of England purchases those bonds because they buy them with cash made out of thin air and tax payers have to pay interest on this debt back to the BoE who we supposedly own. I'm suspicious that the interest we pay to ourselves is a scam and we won't ever see any of it.

  • Is it possible to upload the whole programme? It's not possible to watch 4oD from outside the UK.

  • @GrahamCresswell I have more clips, but youtube is screwing up again so I cannot upload them, one stuck in "processing" for 6 hours at time of writing.

I didn't record the whole show, so am hoping it's repeated.

  • @liarpoliticians thanks for this - could you put up more clips from this documentary? would appreciate it!

  • I caught a little of this the other day.

While it does make points, there is also a lot of idealogical propaganda in it. If you went by what I saw in this, we have the worst healthcare in the world; and the free market is a cure all.

Essentially it's like if you hired a bunch of far right Americans to write a documentary about the UK economy. They talked a lot about manufacturing, but now who we are going to sell to; when we have ultra cheap competitors like China.

  • @AnnoyedDragon The real scam is the way money is created via bank lending. Banks lend new money into existence out of nothing, and they have the cheek to demand interest on it. If we default on our debt they can take our possessions away so they get real assets for digits created from nothing. This scam goes on the world over. As a sovereign nation we could create our own debt free money bearing no interest and not even need taxes or a national debt.

    PositiveMoney . ORG . UK

  • @globalbankfraud I've seen the documentary Money As Debt, but what does fiat currency being created from debt have to do with what I said?

My criticism with the free market and manufacturing being treated as a cure all, is that we actually need someone to sell the goods we produce to. With the strength of our currency compared to China's, plus the difference in wages, why would people buy expensive UK goods; when they can buy the same thing cheaper elsewhere?

  • @AnnoyedDragon The relevance is that if you want to sell more to pay off your debts you should consider why we have debts in the first place. And that is because of bank lending being the means to create money. Banks are scamming us because they create the money out of nothing but effectively take a tithe from us for all our economic activities. So why work harder and suffer wealth loss to pay off fraudulent debts? It's a racket.

  • @globalbankfraud I'm aware of everything that you have said, but it is still not relevant to what I said.

Even if there was no national debt and we weren't on a debt back fiat currency, the issues I posed would still be a problem.

  • @AnnoyedDragon Sorry must have been up too late, your original comment is sound. I would add one other criticism of the show: they say all money spent by the public sector comes from the private sector, implying that private businesses generate real money but all private businesses have to borrow the cash to get started and they borrow most of this from banks. Therefore all money really comes from Private Banks who load in out of nothing. You know that, just informing others.

  • @AnnoyedDragon because we currently dependent on privately owned backs to supply our economy with cash if they stop lending then we're screwed. That is exactly why we are in recession because banks have stopped lending to small & medium size business. If our government had any sense they would have the Bank of England bail out small & medium size businesses with new debt free cash, no increase in national debt & no future burden of taxes. It's a racket!

  • I trust Geoff Howe more than that sky bastard

  • No pot of gold but there is a printing press.

  • @insearchofsomthing But like they said, printing money only delays the inevitable. The more you print money, the less it's worth. It's a downward spiral.

  • I always laughed at Mr's balls argument about "taking money out of the economy" by not increasing NI. When in actual fact it's the opposite. Taxing the private sector is what drains the economy. Labour was rubbish and now the coalition is as well.

  • this vid is so ingenuous. Tax is a problem but not the biggest problem. It is the price of renting or buying that is a bigger problem. If u earn 3k a month, you pay about 450 in tax and NI and about 1k for rent

  • @losarman tax/ni aside the rent is what you can afford. If you pay 1k rent then surely that is your decision, how is that a problem? If you cannot afford 1k rent then you should move to another property where the rent is less.

  • @Sres1 in theory it is your decision but usually to earn good money it is necessary to move to a richer area sp then it is necessary to either pay the extra for rent or pay it in transport or/and time

  • @losarman I'd have to disagree with you there. you can earn a good wage without moving to a rich area. I'll agree that travel costs should be taken into consideration with the job, as in this day and age you can spend more on fuel and have that wipe out the extra that you travel for.

I moved from Cheshire to Chorley for example for a better paid job, moving to Chorley saved me £160 a month in fuel costs, would probably be more now as that was 6 year ago.

  • @Sres1 i know u can earn a good wage without moving to a good area but the fact is most good jobs are in good areas.

like you i moved to spain, my rent is 250€ pm but my income is greater than it was in London, but the tax is much higher

  • @losarman Jobs appear in good affluent areas because companies know that the workforce is going to be local, going to be good quality and have a reasonable education. The biggest issue in this country these days is education, lots pass GCSE's, but the education level of people leaving school is lower than what it was when I left school 15 years ago. If you want a good example, head to a pub quiz, join a team of youngsters and you'll be shocked, I know I was...

  • Ok, it worked after reloading, damn you public sector and your taxation on business *shakes fist*

  • Nooooo video doesn't finish :( The last 30 seconds odd is stopped, what happens with the £50!!!

  • @Sres1 Sorry, youtube does not process videos in one go, but in chunks so it can sometimes look like it's not finished if it's just been uploaded, as this video clip has.

  • @liarpoliticians np, appreciate the vid's :)

  • @Sres1 Just watch it on 4oD. The entire episode is there :)

  • @sbowesuk And how long will it remain there, a week?

  • @liarpoliticians Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it'll be there indefinitely on 4oD on YouTube. Alas, this upload is redundant, lol.

  • @sbowesuk people outside the UK can't watch 4oD - so this upload is much appreciated @liarpoliticians
