  • Christ, women were so much sexier back then. Damn...

  • An actor of great stature and character, the type that we miss today on the big screen.

  • He was another classic that we will never see the likes of again. Plus he did a lot of great work for the State of Israel - thank you Mr. Robinson.

  • There are not many as great as EddieG

  • Here..Mr.Robinson is sporting his famous gotee beard.

  • rofl 6:51

  • yup he would have made a great santa

  • his real name was emmanuel goldenberg, he kept the"g" in his stage name to always remind him of his heritage, eddy "g" was one of a kind, r.i.p.

  • Wow, this is the first time I've seen a guest babble on and on, and they still had a hard time nailing him!

  • Edward G. displays such a high yet humble intelligence. There are some great actors working in movies today, but I honestly can't think of a one that can match the greatness of this man.

  • @maximadog - So true! He could play Skakespeare, be a ganster and could speak several languages. "Humble intelligence" is spot-on!

  • Emmanuel was a brilliant man and supporter of the arts. Bravo.

  • Edward G. Robinson FTW

  • Edward G. Robinson was terrific in Double Indemnity.

  • @weightfeather1 Yes, I read that, too. Sometime later someone, a total stranger, sent Arlene Frances a small contribution to help her replace the necklace, and she was deeply touched by the thought.

  • When they asked Robinson if he was American, he certainly was, but he was born in Romania. In a biography of him, Robinson mentioned that when he first arrived here he saw some money laying on a sidewalk which he pointed out to his mother. His mother told him not to bother picking up such a small amount because the streets were lined with gold. She really believed that old immigrant tale apparently.

  • Boy I really miss these shows on GSN, which now plays mostly garbage. Loved his Nasser comment and what he said about not having access to the newspapers. At the time of this show there was a massive newspaper strike going on in NYC and no one had access.

  • he gives himself away big time at 4:00. he says "yeah" twice.

  • Is that Robinson saying "yeah" or Steve Lawrence?

  • "I'm not here for bonds for NASA" at 6:22. What was he talking about?

  • @wmlfan9

Bonds for Nasser, the president of Egypt not NASA

  • @wmlfan9

Bonds for Nasser" - the Egyptian president. He's saying he is NOT there to help raise money for war bonds for an Arab (Robinson being JEwish). :D

  • "As a matter of fact there's no limit to this particular talent of mine," LMAO!! Good old Eddie G! Love that man!

  • 6:16, jeeezus, that Bennet Cerf. What a piece of work. Never funny.

  • @ClassicShowbiz The thing about Bennet Cerf is that there is a certain charm there. He's kind of corny and old fashioned, a bit of a fuddy-duddy but he always has a friendly likability too. He used to also bother me but after watching WMY for several weeks when it ran late at night I got to appreciate his unpretensious good nature.

  • This is probably the only time I have seen Arlene Frances appear without the diamond heart necklace, but then at 3:50 it appeared on her bracelet. I suppose she was never without it.

  • Arlene is always pretty funny when ( 4:19 ) she gets hit by revelation.
