  • don't dis the stones, and clapton. They resurrected some of these old guys. If it weren't for these guys educating us rockers.... I would have never seen guys like BB king, and Buddy Guy live.

  • Eric who? Rolling what?

  • bit a boogie, lightening chilly

  • Man, Look at Bad Bad Bad Johnny Boy Go!

  • Awesome!

  • XIV!!

  • That's a concert I wish I could have attended! Seen all of them at one time or another, But together!!!! Don't get any better!

  • Very cool....man, what a great drummer Charlie is!

  • fuck this is so awesome

  • one of the best blues performance ever

  • watching these great guitarists of rock ... you know that the blues man is boss. lol! Just look at Ronnie, Eric and Keith in the background kinda looking scared and waiting for JLH to let them rip on the guitar. Shows how much respect these ROCK GODS have for this BLUES GOD. "Blues had a baby named Rock n' Roll."

  • Ronnie Wood, Keith Richards and Eric Clapton are just looking on in disbelief at one point!

  • ...τι να σχολιάσει κανείς εδώ...

  • priceless....

  • קונצרט נפלא,טובי המוזיקאים של המאה ה-20

  • los stones con un guitarrista de excepcion, eric clapton, como hubiera sido el grupo con el como guitarra...

  • Quite possibly the coolest man ever to walk the planet: the incomparable Mr. John Lee Hooker! Thanks to the Richards, Claptons and others for helping the John Lees, Howlin' Wolfs and others get their just rewards.

  • @jCd1058 For some reason I can't click the thumbs up button so here is me saying damn right!

  • well damn I could do what that drummer is doing : P

  • @4lokistone ummmm.....no you couldn't. But that's not a knock on you....Charlie is one the greatest drummers ever.

  • bet bass is loving this lil

  • love it! is this blues rock?

  • @ThePhil909. Not regarding labels and other categories, this is proper boogie, you can call it blues rock as well or electric blues.

  • @19franken95 yeah love it! when u said boogie that struck a cord with me that sounds right to me, and another option which is a sentimental fav would be rhythm 'n' blues(just love the sound of tht )

  • Unfortunately I never had the pleasure of seeing JLH in person, but I did see his son - who is pretty damned good in his own right. One by one the greats are leaving us. Thank goodness for posts like this so that those of us who know and appreciate good music have a break from the crap that's out there now passing as music.

  • Put this on Blu Ray at 96khz, Kill the beaver, gaga, flo rider,j zee and all those other fuckin wankers. In 1 to 2 yrs times they will all be gone , and this will all be a bad dream , and nothing but

a bad skid mark on the music industry.

  • So classy! And look at the music that black people do nowadays, it's all hiphop/gangsta rap sh-t! This is pure music man!

  • @turkishpower08 totally agree with you. black people had class, when the white man was suppressing them, so many great music, little richard, chuck berry, ray charles, hendrix, lee hooker, buddy guy etc etc. now, when the white man is not in charge anymore, the moneys run wild and make terrible shit like rap and fucking hop hop

  • Love it x 3 ...

  • the one chord king! love it

  • When I was first learning to play, I always called that picking style the 'finger-diddle' style of pickin'

  • No matter what the white guys are doing, JLH is in charge.

  • I wonder how would it be if Brian Jones was playing with John Lee Hooker,...

    RIP John Lee Hooker

    RIP Brian Jones

  • John Lee Hooker , is the master of Blues , the one and only.

  • funny....at the age of 60 I STILL Love the R&B that the Stones did back in the early 60's.....My daddy told me I'd go deaf, bald and wecome a wanker if i listened to this "shit". Well, daddy-o, I still got me grey hair - lots of it, and i can hear just fine.....and best of all, I still enjoy living life between my legs! I think it's the music....KICKS ASS!!!

  • jlh is just one with that guitar man more so than the other two

  • The Stones really got the awsome boogie and endless groove which so characterised John' playing. A perfect backing band for him and with Charlie on the drums is pure magic. He plays rock with such a groovey sense of swing just like Mr. Jonh Lee Hooker. Always will bge sadly missed. Such a legend of music. The man of the endless boogie!

  • i didn't even know he could stand up

  • Old guys ROCKS!

  • @vruzha damn right we do lol

  • now THIS is what music is all about, the roots of rock and roll were planted by John Lee, Muddy and the rest of them, and Eric, Mick and others fed and nurtured those roots til they spread across the ocean and back to america during the British Invasion of the 60's. We need another transfusion people in the music scene of today, and I am doing my part to replant the seeds. bluesman ron

  • He is 72 years old in this video.

  • My blues idol backed by my rock idols. This is what heaven must sound like.

  • If John Lee Hooker asks you from the stage "Do you want to boogie" there's only one answer - drop everything and boogie for the rest of your life, following him as you would follow the God, which John Lee Hooker is.

  • what a fucking awesome hat John lee hooker has on !!!

  • Comment removed

  • I saw all those guys on stage in Vegas and Bruxelles, what a selection of best talent in the music industry. Missing all of them, Gil Evrard

  • Grandísimo boggie con el mejor.... John Lee Hooker...

  • nice tune

  • anndalucia1 bloody good comment! stezyrezy

  • Incredible performance, by all the legends. This is what I love about real music, it automatically connects the souls, not the color, the souls.

  • just saying but i would totally kick Ron Wood and Keith Richards there arses if i was there , you CANNOT talk while john lee hooker is performing

  • I saw this performance years ago. When I saw Clapton play with Hooker, I decided to buy an electric guitar and learn how to improvise blues solo. It took me 45hours of practice just to get John Lee's boogie chillen riff just right.

  • video mithyque sans commentaire !

  • turn the volume up !

  • guau y exelente

  • John Lee Hooker (* August 22, 1917 - † June 21, 2001). R.I.P. and thank you for all the beautiful music you left behind. You were a true inspiration.

  • I skipped dinner for this.

  • Ever notice everyone has an image in their head of what they perceive God to look like? I like to think God looks just like John Lee Hooker. Same clothes and dancin', with this tune blaaaarin! Take me to heaven, lord!

  • @zabba312 MR. Hooker might be god ;)

  • i 2nd that i wish i could burned a phattie with him in person and listen wtf he had to say true og in the game came from nuttin to greatest of all time :) be gone but never forgotten )

  • KEITH RICHARDS IS THE GUY !!!!!

HE IS PERFECT COLLECTING THE ROCK HISTORY ALL OVER

THESE GLORIOUS STYLES LIKE JOHN LEE HOOKER, CHUCK BERRY AND MANY OTHERS THAT HE HAS SUPPORTED !!! GOOD GOOD KEITH !!!!

CONTINUE WITH HOUR BIG SOUL OF ALL ROCK AND ROLL OVER THE WORLD !!!

KEITH RICHARDS, THE EMBASSADOR OF THE ROCK ´N´ ROLL !!!

    GREAT BRAIN AND SOUL !!!!

  • To any critics; if Ronnie Wood, Eric Clapton & Keith Richards are prepared to play backing, who would question the why? JLH has got soul, S O U L, and what he doesn't play, is in the spaces between. That is genius. Go buy some Abba if you don't get it.

  • @anndalucia1 ... or Michael Bolton or Yanni!

  • @anndalucia1 you are so f... right bro,it is what it is,SOUL....

  • Just love all these guys together! Wow! Blues a rocking!

  • This is like a blues onslaught.John Lee Hooker, Eric Clapton otherwise known as God, Keith Richards and the stones. It must have been a humbling experience to be on stage with John Lee Hooker .When the greats leave us we will all be singing the blues.

  • Hey ,where is this from? Any DVD or something? Looks so cool!

  • @turkishpower08 Atlantic City 1989

  • I can't beleive I haven't seen this before. Fricking great stuff! The blues talent on that stage is seldom ever paralleled. This is quite the treat.

  • just jizzed!

  • waw mon dieu ça c'est de la musique mais la bonne!!!!!

  • @gittahfiend You should be shot and your guitar burned for such a remark listen to his first recording of Boogie Chillun from the 40's i hardly anyone can replicate the hook, yes some of his playing may be simple but have you ever heard of the phrase 'less is more'. The Hook was simply brilliant and at the end of the day he is one of the most famous and respected bluesmen ever and just who the fuck are you ?. rant over.

  • I dig those moves at 1:50 :)

  • Great!

  • John lee couldn't play guitar for shit

  • @gittahfiend yes he could ... you just don't get it ;)

  • @gittahfiend You are nasty.

  • @gittahfiend You do know there is more to playing guitar than playing 1000 meaningless notes in a few bars of music, right?

  • @Maverikk68 technique give the notes meaning.Hooker had none.

  • @gittahfiend Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and Eric Clapton obviously don't agree with you, nor would any guitarist that was successful.

  • @Maverikk68 I agree with you. And anyway, it's not the technique that gives the notes meaning, it's the person expressing his instrument, it's the spirit of the person, it's the feeling of the person, not necessarily the box of wood with strings on itself. The player's heart and soul is the instrument and is what gives notes their individual unique meaning.
