@Dannepihls That was a taunt. Sometimes an opponent is so wound up they can be made to flinch or launch a sloppy attack with a quick yell/grunt or a stomp of the foot to make a loud noise.

@USMarineRifleman0311 Stick to more basic fare dude. I certainly would not proclaim your stupidity/ignorance to anyone who would care to read your post.
@squirrelrudes Regardless of your comment, to make a vid with the combatants bare chested would make it a more exciting and awesome duel between 2 muscular men who must fight to the death to defend their honor. Women, especially, crave not only to witness bare chested men fight but also phantasize that each man fights to the death to prove his love. So, why not make a vid that is more exciting and passionate.
Andrew Steinmetz states (1868) in THE ROMANCE OF DUELING IN ALL TIMES AND COUNTRIES that combatants are requested to throw off their coats and to lay bare their breasts to show that they do not wear any defense that could ward off a thrust. Why is it then that in many films, that duelists do not "lay bare their breasts to show that they do not wear any defense..."? To do so would make film duels more realistic as was common in real duels.
@bud674 the Napoleonic wars (during which the film is supposed to take place) were over by 1815, So even if Steinmetz's word was taken as law, it would not effect this period. Never mind the fact that by stating it, he demonstrated that there was a need to make the request, Id Est there were those who hid protection under their cloths, Ergo, were not universally bare breasted during such duels till (at the very least) 1868.

I read that most of the budget went towards getting the costumes. Love it.
