  • Great explanation. After clicking on at least dozens of "scare" videos on rip tide/currents, I finally understand what exactly is a rip current. It's not one big scary backwards wave that happens like a rare shark sighting. It's just a natural part of the ocean dynamic. Like you say. Water comes in. Water goes out. Missing tooth! I wish I knew this when I was boogie boarding back in the days.
