Watching the show I was truly amazed at that man devotion to the craft and the compassion and love he had not only for his sons, but for the crew as well as the entire fleet. Only someone with a deep and indescribable love for the seas could not only put their body through the torment and stress both physically and mentally year after year. I could see that in his eyes on the first episode of season 5 after coming back from the close call like he had. RIP Phil. Know that you are missed...
