i have a friend who has such contempt for 80's new wave, and he lists "Take On Me" at the top as vapid pop tunes of that era. However, I love how this banded has matured and grown. Keeping their unique sound and integrity and just expanding on it like a tree.

Plus there is nothing wrong with "Take On Me" as a staple for a moment in pop culture. It is a shame that so many groups did not stand the test of time. I would love to Culture Club's sound today if they had grown like A-HA.

I saw the a-ha show in Manchester on tuesday night..it was fantastic..!!!

After the show i waited at the back of the venue for around 90 mins and when Morten came out in his car he then got out and signed autographs and took photos with the 30 or so of us fans that waited. All of the this in the pouring rain too. He stayed with us for around 30 mins until all of us had our pics taken and autographed. He was such a nice Gentleman, i'll never forget it. Not many other stars would do the same.

Actually, Keane would sometimes sound like A-ha. Keane and Coldplay are great admirors of the norwegian band, which has been a wonderful influence. Might it b because of that i like keane so much? And the voices of Morten & Tom Chaplin r very special & somehow similar by reachin high tones, but very softly. Both r among my top favourite bands.

the song was originally going to be called "it's Not fair" however the band felt that morten singing it's not fair in full falsetto was a bit over the top. so pauls wife, lauren suggested the change in lyrics.

I much prefer a-ha's earlier work but that is because I have not heard a lot of their current work. I love this song but I have to say, it just doesn't come close to Out of Blue Comes Green, Driftwood, Cry Wolf, and Hunting High and Low. Nonetheless, Pal continues to thrive on puzzling and intruiging us with his beautiful songwriting, Mags dazzles us with his operatic and melodic compositions, and Morten sings like a whole symphonic choir of heavenly angels.
