  • I don't know what it is about it but I absolutely love the transition from Black Mountain Side to Kashmir. Stand up, new song.

  • ran away from home at 15 to go to knebworth.awesome .still treasure the programme today

  • some attention needs to be directed to John-Paul Jones' gothic(like) church organ.

  • James you've got the most beautiful hands I've ever seen they turn me on,I'm gonna talk nonsense right now you can play me like your favorite song i don't give a fuck, your smile hair and those eyes god knows what they have seen just the way you move makes me a pervert and i really don't care about anyone and anything anymore if i could find a way to turn back time i would forget EVERY single thing i know about this era and be there among those free people living the dream of Led Zeppelin.

    End.

  • the best music , the best singer, I love you

  • What was the song called that led into Kashmir in this video?

  • @Hawkmon15 White Summer/ Black Mountainside

  • @Hawkmon15 Black Mountain Side

  • Ooooh I know-I know-I know you will RE-TURN AGAAAIN !!!! haaaa

  • best version of this song EVER!!

  • Awesome song. Best band ever. This was a great live performance. At 6:47,JPJ has purple telephone on top of his keyboard. I wonder why.

  • @slick3xexx They had a little joke in the band where if Page's violin bow solo in Dazed and Confused went on too long JPJ could pick up the phone and order some food haha!

  • thumbs up if you think Kashmir or Achilles last stand is better then Stairway

  • Crowley's Large Influence Upon Rock Music (and it's fans)

Lest you think that Aleister Crowley (born Edward Alexander Crowley, 1875-1947) was just some crazy fool that no one took seriously, think again. Crowley has had a large influence upon modern rock music.

  • Comment removed

  • Unbeknownst to most Americans, much of the Hellish music which they idolize was written and sang by devout followers of Crowley and his Satanism.

Guitarist Jimmy PaIge of Zeppelin is a devout follower of Satanist, Aleister Crowley, who proclaimed himself as "The Beast 666". Aleister Crowley was also a 33rd and 97th Degree Freemason and is recognized as the master Satanist of the 20th century.

  • In 1971, guitarist Jimmy Page bought Crowley’s Boleskine House on the shore of Loch Ness where Crowley practiced his hellish, satanic sex-magick rituals, including human sacrifices. Guitarist Jimmy Page actually performed Crowley magical rituals during their concerts. Their song "Stairway to Heaven" carries the reference "May Queen," which is purportedly the name of a hideous poem written by Crowley.

  • Page had inscribed in the vinyl of their album Led Zeppelin III, Crowley's famous "Do what thou wilt. So mete it Be.’ Page and Robert Plant claim some of Zeppelins' songs came via occultic "automatic handwriting," including their popular "Stairway to Heaven."

The cover of the Sergeant Pepper's album by the Beatles showed a background of, according to Ringo Starr, people "we like and admire"

  • (Hit Parade, Oct. 1976, p.14). Paul McCartney said of Sgt. Pepper's cover, ". . . we were going to have photos on the wall of all our HEROES . . ." (Musician, Special Collectors Edition, - Beatles and Rolling Stones, 1988, p.12). One of the Beatle's heroes included on the cover of Sgt. Pepper's was — the infamous Satanist, Aleister Crowley! Most people, especially in 1967, did not even know who Crowley was — but the Beatles certainly did.

  • Jimmy's riffs are so bad ass.......simple yet stunning.JIMMY-YOU ARE THE MAN!!

  • You say Lady Gaga, I say The Doors

You say Hannah Montana, I say The Rolling Stones

You say Owl City, I say Led Zeppelin

You say Jonas Brothers, I say The Beatles

You say Justin Bieber, I say Pink Floyd

You say Taylor Swift, I say AC/DC

95% of teens these days listen to the same rubbish over and over again. If you're one of the 5% who still listens to real music, thumb this up, then copy & paste it to at least five videos.long live rock.

  • @mellwaters103 sono daccordo con te al 101%

ma chi e' lady gaga e dove sara tra 30 anni ? ahahahahah

  • @mellwaters103 oh dear lord just kill yourself

  • Robert Plant was perfect here.

    The king

  • the best song that I already heard.

    Robert Plant the king

  • robert plant the king

  • Went to this it was a totally surreal experience . Me and mate were meant to go onto a camping week in cornwall after, but we were so trashed we had to go home. I know they were not at their best but still awesome. I was privileged to have been there.

  • Is it just me or did this gig have all the best Zeppelin songs ever in it?

  • gone down with your fake

  • awsomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • play that silvertone jimmy

  • i was there also, i think we paid about a fiver for a ticket ,that was about half an hour before the fence went down, mind you it was good to see todd rundgren.

  • Jimmy was like "oh crap I forgot my clothes from the previous tours, what can i wear for this gig at Knebworth, oh let's wear this dress shirt and pants because i'm fucking Jimmy Page"

  • damn.why God was i born 1980?couldnt it be 1960?

  • the best song of all times!

  • my dad was here, only 17.

  • I was entranced there too!!!

  • I believe only "The Wall" could be a better live show. By far this is the best live version of any song ever, though. Check out something called the original Kashmir video, it shows an epic beginning.

  • Zeppelin was big in 1979, In thru the Out Door was biggest album then

  • It's a pity the video doesn't show the very beginning of the song, with Jimmy Page doing an improv intro using a fluorescent violin bow in a completely dark stage (it was like 10 pm). The stage exploded with light when the song started and I was in a trance-like state during the whole song. Yes, I was there! Awesome show!

  • I don't care what anybody says, James Patrick Page is the definition of cool when it comes to rock and roll

  • Like every artist uses light carefully, so do great musicians, leaving space for your ears to caress. Led Zep is unconquered king of this.

  • Week 2, August 1979, light mizzle. Security by Artists International, me sixteen years old and "bricking it " as made to walk gauntlet of cons on day-release from Rampton check us for stuff. Main memories are, free Galoise , the stench of dysentary and cholera from overflowing latrines and my kudos to the Hells Angles who had camped within inches of sewage storage facility. Tickets were £10 i recall and the only alcohol was cider. Zep were 2 hrs late and we had to sleep on Stevenage station.

  • Favorited and sent to Favorite Music Videos.

  • Suddenly Kashmir! :D

  • @drnapls2 Then why are you here you ignorant judgmental asshole.

  • @TheGargoyleLives

    *facepalm*

EVERYONE! IS! ENTITLED! TO! AN! OPINION!

Sheesh guys, the comment section is not for trolling people who like/dislike the video (or maybe it is, seeing as 90% of the Youtube userbase is retarded).

  • @drnapls2 DEVI MORIRE-YOU MUST DIE-TIENES QUE MORIR-

  • @drnapls2 you go to hell!

  • @mopartrevor426 Jon Bonham is there.

  • i was 15 and this was my 2nd gig(motorhead@aylesbury friars.i took au-pair girl with me,smoked hash for the first time-great days p.s that was me shouting for hot dog

  • It's funny about every two weeks I always seem to end up on my December 2010 Playlist , and although there are many tracks, all of them brilliant. I always end up with Kashmir and Zeppelin. It is 31 years ago that I saw this live, and I first saw it Zeppelin way back when before that. It matters not, the hair still stands on my back, goosebumps cover my body and tears flow at the sheer genius that was and will always be Led Zeppelin.

  • Gave up my job to go ti this gig, best career move ever

  • @highrisetim wow, you went to the knebworth concert? thats awesome, i would have done absolutely anything to go to that concert. unfortunately im only 13 and wasnt alive then, lol.

  • great dvd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Everybody said these guys were doing everything from speed to MDA to heroin.Who the fuck cares, watching ZEP was always an ear ringer and the best time ever.I saw them every time they played Vancouver and that was a lot of concerts. The 60's and 70"s were a time apart.

  • Too much clothes on Plant....must check for another clip!! LOL

  • @SweetNova1000 hahahaha! I really needed this laugh today!

  • Too much cloths on Plant....must check for another clip!! LOL

  • oh look, 5 Justa Dweeber and Lady Gagamaggot fans stopped by to vote!

  • fuck Don McClean- this is the day the music died- rock has never been better

  • haha i live near knebworth bitches, but i wasn't alive back in 79 god dammit

  • so jimmy just doesn't know whats going on haha gotta love the 70's...well if your like me there's a bit of purple haze covering the time but still man...good ass times

  • Is Jimmy Page wearing Dockers??? lol...

  • That Dano must feel as light as a piece of loaf bread after wearing a Les Paul nearly all night.

  • Is it just me or when he says four winds fill my sail... It's wrong.... It's supposed to be later in the song.....

  • @Joeberrks He really often misplaced lines live but I don't think it was really a matter of being "wrong", I think he was just ad-libbing.

  • I think led Zeppelin is absolutely best live. And Bozo makes drumming look so easy, and impossible too. On Kashmir, at least the version I have, it sounds like he plays a liiiiitle bit slower than the rest, I guess he doesn`t, but it sounds heavy man!

  • jimmy page is rockin the khakis and belt!!!oh yeah, work that buttondown!!!totally awesome son:D

  • brilliant, was this the first saturday concert or the following one?

  • They played 2 shows at Knebworth.. it's been sayed that the 1.st one was great ,2.nd bad .. I've always been wondering from which shows are these stuffs shown..? Anybody?

  • @fragilebeaster this is from the second show. once you watch the 1st one you will wonder how you ever thought this was zeps best. the 1st one is that much better.

i have a few vids on my profile if you want to see any from the first show including kashmir

  • @fragilebeaster its on dvd that comes with their cds. its about $100, but totally worth it!

  • Forever Live ZEPPELIN

  • Ótimo

  • Robert Plants vocals are in HIGH form!

  • awwww my first song!!!...just love it!!! can´t never get tired of it!

    awesome, awesome, awesome!

  • To everybody who has ever been at their concert: I'm so jealous ;)

  • at first, i thought jimmy page was just really busting his ass, but now i see that's just heroin drenching his shirt.

  • @0TheBear yo- that was great....you know there doing horse, before they get out there...look what happen to bonham....rip-herion and jack...now thats a tight rope to walk!!!

  • real rock!! no bubble gum here!! morrison,, joplin,,hendrix,...no sustitutes for them. they all died at the age of 27-NO COINCIDENTS IN LIFE........and led zepp keeped the dead alive, through the traditional true rock!!

  • @MrRichBiker cobain also died at 27

  • @hed1e oh...yea,your right-forgot about kurt,thanks.

  • @MrRichBiker cept for John Bonham, RIP

  • kashmir

simply the best song ever written.

  • My Favorite version is

Earls Court May 25 1975 I was there

  • These are the captains and I am a passenger along for the beautiful ride that is Kashmir.

  • yeah whos the idiot who dosent like page

  • Kashmir is a masterpiece, Viva Led Zepellin

  • @rialbamo they are the masters...of heavy blues rock ..no one comes close...i am sorry i never saw them

  • @deltamx Yeahh

  • Best band ever!!!! They can't be topped!!!!!!

  • @ALCAEUS72 AGREED!

  • Is it just me or are Jimmy's arms especially long?

  • Led Zeppelin FoReVeR

  • Titans...

  • me tooo men just one more show even if its another planet

  • wonder how long it would take for their concert to sell out if they did 1 last one...

  • @waitanddie1 they sold 20,000 tix for the 07 reunion and got over 2 million hits on the site to buy them in the first day or so. the money made

would be obscene but it will not happen unfortunately

  • One of the best rock songs in history.

  • Jimmy Page <3<3<3<3<3 Best guitar player ever! Ok second. First is Hendrix :P

  • how's wetting their shirts like they do(did)? ...

  • @paulfranchitti 1979 summer heat outside !

  • @paulfranchitti jimmy is beyond fucked up on herion in this

  • @tokeification how in hell would you know what he was on that night ? you wouldn't .

  • @Tecumseh1812 o god not u again. ur the biggest bitch on youtube. you always have invalid arguments and youre always wrong about like everything. im not gonna argue with u again cuz itll just be a waste of time. i know hes on heroin cuz one, he said in an interview he got fucked up alot on this tour, and two, look at his shirt, fucking drenched. heroin cuz u to sweat alot. i win

  • @tokeification you win ? ok collect your prize at the door , congratulations .

  • lords of the 1970s

  • Bonham creates a groove, sway and heaviness with

    his drumming style

    that makes him my favorite.

  • Great version. Only criticism is those gazillion camera shots. I got dizzy with all the quick cuts. Sadly, it's a problem with most concert vids.

  • I was there too !! Brilliant !!! At the time they were being slagged off by the music press as being dated and irrelevant. Punk was the thing in '79. Who's laughing now Mr. Rotten ??? We don't see Jimmy Page advertising butter on TV !!!!

  • @hextongogley Haha, precisely!

  • @hextongogley Are you serious? Johnny Rotten does butter advertisements?!

    Ha! isn't that ironic.

Yea, where are the Pistols now?.....not even close to the same staying power as the almighty Zeppelin.

  • @ninjamojo711 Dead serious ! do a youtube search for the Country Life Butter advert ... there he is waving his little flag, supporting the establishment. Disgraceful - what a sell-out !!!!

  • @hextongogley Lucky you!!! You must have good memories!!

  • @hextongogley so true!! the sex pistols were a fart in the wind compared to the Zeppelin. and plus, any real punk fan will tell you the best punk didn't surface till a few years later.

  • i was there!!!!! unforgettable!!

  • shiver in my spine

  • Robert Plant is a little too much on the improvising mood for me, but this performance stands as one of the best for this song.

  • This is from Aug 11

btw they had them wear the same clothes at both of the gigs because since it was being filmed they needed continuity

  • Does anybody know if this is from the Aug 4 or Aug 11 gig?

  • Well, Robert Plant was wearing this shirt when I saw them on the 4th - but who knows? he might have worn it the week after too??

  • Plant is so fucking amazing.

  • This show was good but without them being totally stoned @ here they could have done better.

  • I love to wear my pink cashmere sweater while listening to this.

  • Jimmy Page is sweating pure opium!

  • Yeah his sweat would have got Pete Doherty and Shane MacGowan off that's for sure..

  • @benebrius lol good one!

  • @benebrius I don't know how to say this, so I guess I will come right out and say it. I am a heavy user of opiates, and every time I watch this stuff from when I was quite young, a child really, I always wondered why he sweat so much?? Now I know!!

  • @benebrius LOL,LOL

  • @benebrius yah basically.

  • @benebrius oh yeah dude. opium is better than crack believe me..! and this riff after opium... MAN... really makes u bang your head hard!

  • @benebrius and you must be sweating pure dumbass pills

  • @prober45 Yeah i must be.....i just waisted 30 seconds of my valuable time "listening" to your absolutely shithouse "music".

  • Led Zeppelin is amazing

  • Comment removed

  • speak english much?

  • I am Someone else who was there for BOTH weekends and it WAS awsome, (as far as I can remember, lol).

I still have an orange ping pong ball from the event!

  • you would think that this song would have an orchestra but yet again its the fantastic JPJ.

  • it shouldnt even be called rock n roll it should just be called LED ZEPPELIN.

we will never see another band close to this its impossible there will never be another band that can say they were the best at every position on stage

    robbert plant best( vocalist ever)

bonham (by far and away the greatest drummer)

jimmy page( the greatest to ever pick up a guitar)

JPJ(greatest bass player rock has ever seen)

    #1 Led zeppelin

    #2- who gives a fuck

  • i agree 100% but JPJ is also the best keyboardist

  • u my friend, are very correct.

  • Plant is pretty good, but only in Zeppelin :/ and it's impossible to decide on the greatest guitarist

  • @leemond09 what does "but only in zeppelin even mean?!" he's pretty damn great, and he IS in zeppelin, who cares about solo shit or whatever!

  • have you heard unledded? page and plant did it in like 94 or something and it's great, it was a live show with all kinds of guest musicians form around the world like 80 drummers from africa among others

  • I agree that Zeppelin's members are all among the best at their instrument, but there are plenty of contenders for all the top spots. Neil Peart and Keith Moon could both have given Bonham a run for his money. John Entwistle, Geddy Lee and Les Claypool are all bassists of the same calibre as JPJ. As for Page..well, he's a god, but so are Clapton, Hendrix, Beck and Blackmoore. I'll agree that Plant is probably the greatest vocalist ever on a stage. It all comes down to preference, I suppose.

  • @lzds2112 i deffinately dont dissmiss any of the artist you mentioned. you have a very valid point i suppose i am just byass to zeppelin. but i will say there will never be a better collection of 4 people to form one group than zeppelin. 4 gods on one stage,

  • Moon and Peart could give Bonham a ride for his money? Nope

  • @musicman9583

Oh, I think they could. They're very different from him though. Bonham always played with a certain restraint, Moon was just completely insane and Peart always plays very complex arrangements. It's hard to compare them, but I still think those 3 are the uncontested greatest drummers ever.

  • @lzds2112 Its called; skill and discipline, part of playing in a band, he was extremely balanced, they werent.

  • @Lukestar1991

And that kind of playing complimented Jimmy Page's improvisations and Robert Plant's wailing very well - he stayed in the background. Moon and Peart always took the lead a lot more, with solos and improvisations. As I said, they're just very different styles of playing. Suggesting that Moon and Peart don't/didn't have skill and discipline is just stupid.

  • I wish i was at the Song Remains The Same concert in New York! I woud've had my screaming voice in the background when they made it into an album

  • what i wouldnt give to see led zeppelin at their peak

  • Unlike Moon Bonham still had it right up until the end.

  • I was there also and remember as if it was yesterday Christ they were awesome !!!!

  • I think this was the best version

  • this is music even 40 years later we isthen them

  • They're either gods, or the biggest fluke masters on the planet!

  • they are both!!!

  • Please God, just one more show. I fly anywhere.

  • @rushdude67 I know right! Plant needs to quit singing with losers like...what's her name? lol

  • I was there. And, yes, it was great.

  • Wish I had a time machine...first thing I'd do is go to this performance!

  • HOLY SHIT 7:47. BONHAM IS GOD.

  • Yeah I went too. 19 at the time.

  • To 7snugguns7 By weird Cymbal sound do you mean that odd sizzle it has? Although the recording quality of this Concert was pretty good I think deterioration of the Original Master tapes may have caused the 'sizzling' from the cymbals as they die off -to answer your question. I was there that night in that open field.. a unique experience and memorable journey (!) ThanX 74BlackDiamond

  • fuck dammit i wish i was there, this is the most epic band ive ever heard, and one of my fav songs ever

  • The sexyest guitar rift of all time!

  • FucK! Bonzo was so fucking awesome banging the skins...nobody, and I mean NOBODY can, could, or ever will touch him...he WAS Led Zeppelin..he was the driving force of their music. Why do all the great ones have to die? God, I wish I could run across one drummer with half the talent and ability of Bonham sometime in my career before its too late. Great video of my favorite Zeppelin tune.

  • i was only 16 and saw them 2 times and never paid a good gig

  • my dad was at knebworth i believe, lucky bastard.

    my favourite band ever.

  • what is that wierd cymbal sound

  • The signal from the mics on the cymbals were fed through a processing device most probably a phaser. Definitely not due to audio degradation.
