One of the greatest, most underated, singer/songwriters ever. BTW, "Still in the Kitchen" was from the album that had "Anglws" on it, cannot remember the album name right now. But I'm sure the song is on one of his compilation albums.; he put out a couple of those you can order, on CD of course, or digital; no longer the good old days of the cassette!
i love my J.B. i'm glad to find this posted but does anyone know where i can find audio and/or video of my favorite "Still in the kitchen" from like 1986-ish??? it's the 1st song i ever heard from them. i'm kicking myself for losing the cassette. yes tape. this was before CDs, to any of you young kids out there. i had this on cassette. this video makes me smile. thanks for posting.
Cult of the Basement is my favorite Jazz Butcher album. Can't agree with your equation though. Max wasn't on Fishcoteque, Cult, Condition Blue, Big Planet....etc. All great albums

A moving, wistful song that takes you to a light-filled harbor or a winsome, sunny afternoon.

No Max = No Jazz Butcher
Although I do LOVE "Cult Of Basement".

But man, their post-Eider output was also awesome! E.g. Big Questions, Cult of Basement, Condition Blue...

Some of the Jazz Butcher's best work came from Illuminate and Waiting for the Love bus. Peter Crouch was a very good substitute.
