  • Just got my VTAC Quick Attach sling today.... FANTASTIC!!!Comfortable with many options...

  • I have the vtac padded 2 point sling and it's 10 times more comfortable than mtje magpul POS sling i sold

  • @VideoGameBandit A lot of people use the VTAC Sling for shotguns. If you have a full stock you will need a buttstock adapter that we make for shotguns and full stock rifles. -Kyle

  • P.S. The caveat to my question is that my shotgun is also quite short, (barrel length 12.5 inches, OAL is maybe 33 inches).

  • Whatup Kyle. I roll with this sling on my vz58 and it's outstanding. Do you feel your sling has use on a shotgun or is there another sling/configuration you would recommend?

  • If you need to make an instruction video on your sling it's waaaaaaay too complex. Keep It Simple Stupid.

  • We were given these slings in a course i took in the 82nd. Ill never get another 1 or 3 point sling again. helps when your on a knee using both hands to search a house or treat a causilty and functions fine. there was no problems with getting hung up on my gear like i was afraid of.

  • That vertical forearm grip is mounted WAY too far forward!

  • @jdarling2k

Not if you want to control your muzzle in recoil

  • What holster are you using that allows you have the light attached to your pistol?

  • @boanerges144 Blade-tech WRS

  • @VikingTactics Thank you.

  • geeez!! i remember when i was in the 82d in 74-76:my squad ldr was former abn RNGRco,another squad ldr former UDT.both of these guys got with the post vietnam army program to not give sh_t about anything tactical.while "there i was" trying to figure out how create gear & carry modes etc on my own as the platoon "lifer","johnwayne".now look at all this cool stuff...

  • I'm pretty sure Magpul made one of these first......and there's is way better.

  • @glock727

AND you would be mistaken, SGM Lamb designed this one before Magpul ever made "A" sling... That is a bonefide fact. I have used the Magpul sling and I found it to be "Lacking" I have used the BFG VCAS as well and now am using the VTAC... So far I like it.

  • I'm pretty sure Magpul made one of these first......and there's is way better.

  • I'm pretty sure Magpul made one of these first......and there's is way better.

  • Why VG so far forward?

  • Kyle, in the video you state that the sling is made in the USA, but I just ordered and recieved my VTAC 511 tactical sling and it clearly has a tag "made in china" on it. You may want to either change the video or get with your manufacturing line and stop the tags from being added. I like the sling.

  • @MrBikenut Check out the caveat listed in the video description - and pasted here as well:

**ALL SLINGS purchased DIRECTLY FROM Viking Tactics are Made in the USA. Slings produced under license by other manufacturers may not be. If in doubt, check with the company you're ordering from.**

5.11 is a licensed manufacturer that does not produce their sling in the USA.

    Hope this helps.

    -Kyle

  • @VikingTactics - Got ya. Thanks for the explanation Kyle. Like I said, I like it. I just didn't want folks to misunderstand that little bit of info. I wish I would have known the difference before my purchase transaction, my bad. I just googled, saw it on Amazon and ordered. I usually try, even at extra cost to me, to get US made products. I'll be buying more so I'll get to support our great workers here in the US! Thanks for the quick, kind response.

  • Sir, you mention in "Green Eyes Black Rifles" that you used a 2 quart strap as a sling. How, and where did you attach it to? Did you use any special setup? Thank you.

  • @Astro577 No, just the 2 quart strap with 550 cord to hold it in place.

    Kyle

  • I just purchased this sling and let me say, it is the best sling I have ever used and I will use no other sling from here out. I absolutely works perfectly. For years I have been on the hunt for the perfect sling setup, something all riflemen can identify with I'm sure. This sling has solved all of the issues. Well done V-Tac!

  • Mad sling... i use a guitar sling

  • Sir, Is that a Glock you're carrying in this video? I can't quite make it out 100%.

Also, if you don't mind, do you have a preferred caliber.

(I'm buying a Glock for CCW soon.)

  • @trojanmike2008 That is a Glock. If you buy a Glock get a 9mm, if you buy and M&P get a 40.

    Kyle

  • @VikingTactics PRetty sure of the reasons for Glock in 9mm. Why M&P in 40???

  • Kyle,

What is the reasoning behind the caliber selections listed above for the Glock and M&P?

    Thanks,

    Will

  • @MakeYaTap I cannot presume to know what Mr. Lamb's reasoning for his recommendations are, however, those are the calibers those particular pistols were originally designed for, and guns are usually the most reliable in their original caliber. With the M&P, you probably wouldn't have as many problems going from a gun designed from the ground up to handle .40S&W to a 9mm, but going from a gun designed for 9mm to a .40 is more problematic as some Glocks have proven. I think they're pretty squared

  • @wcropp1 away these days though--the 4th Generation Glocks were supposed to address all of those problems, however, the changes created some new problems of their own, which I think they have since fixed. Nonetheless, though, Glocks were made in 9mm first and then beefed up when .40 became popular. The M&P was a .40 from the beginning.

  • @wcropp1

Thanks. I was thinking along those lines but wasn't sure.

  • Nice sling, but I think the "release stamp" (? the adjustable thing under your shoulder) is a bit problematic in reaching it, especially if you have a full combat rig system. Don't you think it would be hard to move your arm to that angle if you carry a thick vest, rig, etc.?

Btw.: what holster do you use for your sidearm?

  • @lllBASlll I tested that issue with my V-Tac sling and a fully loaded C.I.R.A.S. and it's honestly not too much harder to reach than without the rig. If you can reach your rib-cage area, you can reach the release mech. Works great.

  • This is my preferred sling - it does it all.

I like this guy. He seems happy to be teaching.

Unlike Larry Vickers who always seems to glare at the camera and try to look mean...

  • Do they come with optional H&K clips ? Need those to fit on the Swedish AK5C.

    Thanks in advance.

  • @shocker76 You can buy the HK hooks separately on our website.

    Kyle

  • whicH Rifle is he using for demonstration ?

  • Does this work on Aug? and other bullpups?

  • @TheRedGrant It works, but be careful with the AUG shooting from the support side, might have to slide back a little to avoid a burned neck.

    Kyle

  • @VikingTactics

Thanks for the advice on AUG, but I am already aware of it. Glad it works on AUG.

  • Does anyone know if this sling will work okay with a Mini 14? The gun does have the oval type "garand/m14 style" sling hooks near the end of the bottom of the stock, and end of the front of the stock. Anyone know?

  • @SuperSneakySniper Oh I see a buttstock adapter now.... OH WAIT! I see the sling is usually attatched to the side of the front end of the gun... how does it preform when attach to the bottom of the front of the gun? As it would on a stock Ar-15 or M1a/Mini 14 or Ak series rifle? Is that side attatchment needed?

  • I made a sling for about 25 it's nice too

  • I just puchased this sling. Learned it's uses from the above video. Absolutley no complaints. Well done.

  • my local gun shop has this sling for 40 bucks...is it worth it? from the vid it looks good but 40 for a sling?

  • I just picked one up. It is as advertised. I love it.

  • Should arrive soon can't wait to put on my StagArms M8 :)

  • Absolutely the best 2 point on the market.

  • So Vikings really use these weapons! :)

  • sweet

  • This sling looks great, and I'm looking at purchasing one of the wide ones so I can also use it with an M249 when I'm not rocking my AR, but I was wondering what the strength of the material used is. Could it support that sort of weight, or is it simply not designed for that sort of use? Cheers.

  • @DanDaCanadian You will be good to go with the wide padded sling, in is also used a lot with sniper weapon systems.

    Thanks

    Kyle

  • I have four of these slings. I shoot 3 Gun and this is what most all of the competitors use for many good reasons. Slings aren't that expensive and I know a lot of shooters who have tried other products, but they've all come back to the VTAC. Excellent product!

  • Kyle, do you run a blade-tech thigh rig or safariland? BTW cant wait for the pistol DVD it looks good.

  • @HST40 I use a Blade-Tech WRS Holster. First Pistol DVD should be out soon.

    Kyle

  • Very nice setup here.

  • Nice sling system, but...........WHAT HARDWARE DOES IT COME WITH?

  • @kimberHD45 The VTAC sling does not come with hardware, we sell hardware separately. The sling was initially designed to go on the M4 which does not require special hardware.

Look on our site and all the optional accessories and hardware are available to be shipped with the sling. We do manufacture a special sling for Larue that comes with the HD Quick Detach swivels already installed, but you must buy those slings through Larue.

    Hope this helps.

    Kyle

  • does the sling attach to the rifle with clips? (like ones found on one point slings)

    thanks

  • @LittleWing1127 It can, that is up to you. We have several different choices on our web site. Depends what you have on your weapon.

    Kyle

  • @VikingTactics thanks for the quick reply - i will certainly visit your website and look into it

once again, thanks and Merry Christmas

  • Awesome product!! I purchased this sling simply because it was highly recommended by a trusted friend. I must say I am VERY pleased with its performance and durability.

  • What you don't show is how you install it on your AR???

  • @jbravo70 Search for 5.11 Tactical / Viking Tactics 2 Point Sling Installation and you'll see a video I made for 5.11 that demonstrates how to install the sling. You can also find it listed under my VTAC Product Descriptions playlist (look for that on the right hand side of our Channel page).

    Kyle

  • great vid.. all though there was a bit of sound probs..

  • I like my vtac sling alot. Went through a few different ones before settling on the Vtac. The adjustments are super fast and easy. A great product

  • What pistol holster are you running?

  • @MDmarine84 I am running a Bladetech WRS Holster. I like their holsters because I can have several holster that swap from adapter to adapter and they will accommodate my lights as well.

    Kyle

  • @VikingTactics Mr Lamb,

I love this sling. I am on my second one a believe it to be the best one out there. Mr PRH turned me on to them (you know who Im talkin about :-) You are a true patriot for sharing your insight and knowledge with us regular good old boys. Thank you from the bottom of mine, and my families hearts for your years of dedicated service sir. Merry Christmas

  • @rightwinggunnut1 Thanks, PRH has turned a lot of folks in our direction.

    Merry Christmas.

    Kyle

  • I noted the Brokos Belt on the website, nice belt..... when will they be back instock?

  • @kwb977 They're going out as fast as we can get them in right now. We'll put out an announcement (Twitter or here) when we get them back in stock.

  • What belt is that?

  • @kwb977 That belt was an Eagle belt, I currently use the VTAC Brokos Belt.

    KL

  • Why would you order from anyone but Kyle - I got my sling and a nice pack of targets and green eyes & black rifles - shipped quick & reasonable shipping $

  • I have a rail mount swivel for the sling. Then I just attach the sling via an adapter that's strapped to the Standerd butt

  • I thought 5.11 tactical VTAC slings were made in the United States. They are NOT. After I purchased my sling, I too saw a label that said MADE IN CHINA. I purchased this sling because of this video. Kyle, please put a note on the video that they are made in the US ONLY IF YOU BUY DIRECT FROM VIKING TACTICS. I am hugely disappointed that my sling was made in China.

  • @justlikeneo ALL SLINGS purchased DIRECTLY FROM Viking Tactics are Made in the USA. Slings produced under license by other manufacturers (such as 5.11) may not be. If in doubt, check with the company you're ordering from.

  • Comment removed

  • Will this sling work on a Remington 7615 that's got an ar15 style butt stock and a 3 way barrel mounted picatiniy rails?

  • @dominicpatto Yes it will work. If you have the full stock you will just need to order a buttstock adapter to go with it as well as a way to attach to the picatinney. There are a couple options there. I would suggest our LPSM and a QD Swivel.

    Thanks

    Kyle

  • Anyone have any issues with this sling for left handed shooters?

  • @Remylebeau905

Nope I'm a southpaw, and the sling is completely ambidextrous. It works exactly as it says for us lefties.

  • aaah, ok ! I didn´t know that ! yeah, it´s from 5.11; well, like I said: it´s pretty rough as well and think it works great. Thanx for the reply. Cheers fom Germany

  • ... "the Viking Tactics Sling is made in the United States...", small flag on my sling says: MADE IN CHINA ... well, at least my first impression is good.

  • @TacticalSchwein All Viking Tactics Slings are made in the USA, the one you have must be a 5.11 Tactical sling, those are made overseas. We have licensed our design to 5.11.

    Hope this helps.

    Kyle

  • I love the VTAC sling for everything but weakside transitions. I always feel like there is a noose going across my throat, which is a bit distracting. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is there a way to alleviate this? It might an issue of not enough slack but I don't see a way to create more.

  • @ejbock You should adjust the sling so when it is completely released and only around your neck, not under your support arm, you can place the weapon to the support shoulder without the noose effect. I push the weapon out as I transition to get the sling to slide on my neck. Try that and see what you think.

    Kyle

  • i buy one of tohs ofr my m16 and its awesome

  • Does that sling fit on a HK 416? Or do i have to get an adapter?

  • @antidead No issues with the 416, attach it to the stock and your sling swivel on the side and you will be good to go.

    Kyle

  • It's a good sling, I just wish I had bought the wide version instead.

  • Is it possible to attach the Viking Tactics 1" Sling Hook to the rear end of this sling?

  • @Mrhhartge3 Absolutely, just loosen the strap and attach the hook, you will be good to go.

    Kyle

  • Nice sling, looks much better the the 3 point sling I got recently from one of your competitors,

Does Viking Tactical ship to Canada?

  • @Akaoushi Yes. Here's the contact info:

    Edmonton, AB T5H 4H6

    Canada

    (780) 424-5281

    POC Cody Savard

    Hope this helps,

    Kyle

  • @VikingTactics

That works perfectly, there 20 minutes from me.

    Thanks.

  • @VikingTactics

Yup that works better then I thought, that store is really easy to find.

    Thanks.

  • Great Product, use a ton of JP and 5.11 stuff. I have a question, what is a good way to use your sling with a magpul prs stock, neither of the provided sling mounts are really optimal. thanks for your time

  • @fasty77killa

With the PRS you can just run the sling through the slot on the left side of the stock. The sing will work fine with this setup.

    Kyle

  • @slp1113

Yes sir, it will attach if you have a sling swivel mounted on the side as most M4s do.

    Kyle

  • Any video or idea of using the sling with a Med Bag/back pack/rucksac)?

  • @Jeannicolas737

Normally when folks carry a rucksack they put the sling on after they have the ruck on. Some only carry it around their neck unless they are climbing, then they put it around the arm as well.

    Hope this helps.

    Kyle

  • ive been thinking of getting this sling... only problem is i prefer to use the sling attachment points on the stock and rear of my receiver, not on the front of the handguard. its more comfortable to me but doesnt allow me much flexibility in how i use my weapon

  • @mandaloin

If you attach like you stated, our sling will still adjust, you just wont have the ability to cinch it down across your chest or back as tight.

Some of our customers use Quick Detach swivels and change locations depending on what they are doing, sometimes attached at the rear of the receiver, then moved to the tube. I think this might be a good option for you.

    Thanks

    Kyle

  • What is the sling adapter you are using to attach it to the fore grip?

  • Corrupt

I am actually using an uncle mikes attached to the side of the free float tube on that particular weapon.

    Kyle

  • I need one bur for MP5SD6 :P

  • Do I feel violated!! I have been doing research on the best two point sling to buy for my M4 and what do I get in the mail, a Made in China POS sling made by Vtac. I would have been not much worst off if I had just run 550 cord thru the swivel mounts. This product is going back to USCAV ASAP.

  • There are two versions of the VTAC Sling, there is the Made by Viking Tactics version, which is 100% Made in the USA. The second version is a licensed version from 5.11, which is not made in the US. Hope this helps to clear up your confusion.

    Kyle

  • You can actually make one of these with a ruck sack strap....that's what my SF buddies and I did! But on our 3rd 6 month deployment to Afghanistan, I ended up buying one! It's hands down the best on the Market right now!

  • I also made my own, but I used webbing from a rock climbing store.

  • They seem really proud of it, but you can certainly find a much better sling for 10 dollars cheaper

  • i think the magpul sling is the best. its just hard to get your hands on one.

  • hands down best sling out there...

  • I got one of these a few weeks ago and used it in a carbine class last weekend. I like it.

  • I'm having trouble with mine. The problem is. I'm short...5'6". It's almost non functional. I have very limited adjustment sliding, excessive straps dangling down, and the tan slider things dig into my neck when I raise the weapon. It's a well thought design. But if your under 5'9". Don't waist your money. It's function for which I bought it for has reached it's limit. I'm no better off then purchasing any standard cheep 2 point sling. Or maybe I'm just doing it wrong.

  • Mine just arrived today, ordered from Viking Tactics website Saturday, received Tuesday. Good Service. The sling seems to be a really nice piece of equipment, well made and durable. Frankly this video was a large influence on my purchase.

It is always a pleasure doing business with a good American company.

  • cool sling. one question what what gun is that?

  • Looks like an M4 with a free-floating rail guard, a forward hand grip (way forward of where I like to keep mine, too), an EOTech holographic sight, a taclight (probably Surefire), and one of those snazzy buttstocks for a really comfortable cheek-to-stock weld.

Nice sling, too. I may have to get a couple.

  • Isn't it Berry amendment with an E?

  • Kyle, what type of front sling swivel is on the gun in this video? I know you offer your own now I'm just curious which one this is.

  • Front sight swivel is an Uncle Mikes connected to a special sling swivel stud, both are on our site if you're interested in taking a closer look.

    KL

  • what is the make of the front sling swivel?

  • Excellent and informative video. I have the VTAC sling and I am very happy with it. Very well thought out product!

  • I LOVE MY VTAC MR2 Sling.

  • how much does it cost??

  • I got mine for $39 but i've seen them as much as $55

  • Hi, I currently have a stag arms model 6L. It is a left handed ar15 varmint rifle with a 24" free floated heavy barrel, a Magpul PSR stock and a Harris Bi-Pod. Will this sling work? I am having a hard time finding out. Would this sling securely carry the rifle on my back and be able to deploy and drop to a prone position. I do mostly long range shooting and would like free hands for crawling on the ground. Any advise would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

    Jim

  • Jim

I think our sling would work fine for this application, it can also aid in your shooting if you keep it on in the prone and cinch up the sling.

Let me know how it works out.

    -Kyle

  • Everyone take note. This is how to run a company. Talk to your customer base! Thank you.

  • @BSMARSBSMARS and definitely more useful than a printed manual...

  • I ordered one a couple weeks ago from you guys, I'm very impressed with the construction, and it works great.

  • Glad it's working out for you. Let us know if you have any suggestions for ways to improve the sling!

  • Will it work with a Compact rifle holster?

  • Thank you, What Holster do you have in this video?

  • Blade Tech WRS

  • This is by far my favorite sling, having snagged one in a Noveske package.

It's superior in flexibility and comfort to the Gear Sector 2 Point, as well as the Vickers Combat Applications sling.

    Just my opinion

  • Great sling and good instructional video. Sling is well made from solid materials.

  • why would you HAVE to have your muzzle up?

  • SWAT518 I normally would not have muzzle up, however there are times when you are the lead climber over a building or wall that you may need to do this, just demonstrating that it can be done.
