i broke the 5th or i would call it snapped off because mine was pretty mangled, i waited 8days before going to the Dr. because i was embarrassed, i punched my cousins 1947 model truck 2x and i totally forgot that old cars are way tougher than new cars. by that time it had healed @the wrong deg.so they had to do surgery and re-break it in the OR then put 2screws/pins and a plate. but the surgeon said it was worse than the X-ray showed and wouldnt of been able to reset it in the office anyways.
It is common for the wrist to be sore because of having to flex the wrist back. People usually get use to the wrist position. However, if there is a specific sore spot where you feel that fiberglass if rubbing or there isn't enough padding, you should contact your ortho and have them take a look at it. If you are experiencing any "burning" type of pain you should contact your doctor tomorrow and ask them to take a look at your cast.
Yes, punching anything hard (wall, floor, someone else) can break one or more of your metacarpal heads. I had a patient come in that had punched the pillow of his couch and ended up breaking his 5th metacarpal. All it takes is enough force for impact to break the metacarpal head. It's called a Boxer's fracture because the bone breaks from striking a solid object (like someone boxing)
if you punch a wall can it break your 5th metacarpal, how much force (power does it take) like full strength, half etc, and will it only break\fracture if you make contact with the wall with you 5th knuckle? please repson! thankyou

Is this position supposed to be uncomfortable because I broke my fifth metacarpal and they casted me, but the positioning is making my wrist sore.
