The weight is 98.94% of the most officially done by any USA super. Don't forget he did the same lift earlier weighing only 90 kilos it was less decisive but a successful attempt Barcelona 1992. He weighed over 150 pounds less than Shane Hamman and did almost 99% as much!!!
@skirts365 Notice how he didn't need the extreme depth seen in some Chinese lifters for this squat power jerk I think they do need him badly as a consultant.
akakios kakiasvilis is one of the greatest greek weightlifters... he was born in georgia but he became greek by taking the greek passport as a greek citizen.... so its GREEK!!!! it doesnt matter where we ve born but how we feel and believe me especially kakiasvilis felt MORE GREEK THAN EVERYONE!!!
It's OK, he Suleimanoglu was just the first man ever to win three olympic gold medals, has the number one sinclair score of all time, and is considered by most to be the best pound-for-pound weightlifter ever, that's all.
Honestly, you can't say that you know anything about weightlifting if you don't know who Suleimanoglu is.
@JacktheDaniels To be frank Suleimanoglu won 4 olympic gold medals. In 1984, Bulgaria which was a member of the old soviet union and which was the original country for Suleimanoglu before he defected to Turkey, his ancestor homeland, boycotted the los angeles olymipcs and thus depriving him from participating in that year. However, Moscow through a goodwill olympics that year, a month later and suleimanoglu's total was like 40 kilos more than what the guy who won in LA, so I count that as well.
Three (3) seconds between grasp bar, clean to shoulders, and stand ready for power jerk. He might have been good for 10 more kilos---he did same weight at 90KG in 1992, less decisively but 3 white lights. This is also more than Ken Patera did in competition.
@kaga13 no. he is pure Georgian but at this time Georgia was in deep crisis after war with russia in 1992-93 years.. that why many Georgian sportsman fleed country...
@MrRezz0 i can understand your sadeness because georghe asanidge always loosing the games against kakiasvilis and dimas so you want to have a part of GREEK GLORY by sayng that kakiasvilis is georgian... dont say bullshits poor georgian boy!!!! and i can understand how you re saying all that because i thought that greeks are brothers with georgian people!!! we must celebrating together my friend and not arguing here for nationallities etc....
I watch this videos to get pumped up before lifting and all I see are people complaining about where these lifters are from. It makes me wonder what they make of the USA participants since they are ALL immigrants to some extent.
He was born in georgia, he represented georgia when he c&j 235 kg in 1992. you cn find it on wikipedia. After that he move to greeca , change his second name and becobe greek wheilifter. You must know what you are writting
Comparisons are in order. Pablo Lara power cleaned 190 at 76---two & a half x bodyweight. Kaxi at 99 would have had to do 247.5kg power clean to match that on percent. Lara's 205 on You Tube really looked like he could have matched Varbanov's 215.5 and later Lara did 208--one kg off Rusev. Lara was the greatest lifter to ever come from the Western Hemisphere. There is an efficiency "curve" in lifters correlated to increasing size and height which is why supers can never = smallers on %
I hear a shout (in Greek) that sounds like "HECK OF A" yeah it was for real. 12.6 pounds more than Ken Patera did, in more impressive form, by lifter 113 pounds lighter. And he actually looked good for 11 pounds more.
And half of Armenian male team as i saw lately. And the "normal" jerk how do you say in english. On my native language we would translate it roughly Scissors jerk, but I dont know real english phrase so pls if you can, can you tell me?
This is actually a power jerk since his hips didn't go below parallel which made it even more impressive. If he had gone below parallel or into a full squat like some of the Chinese lifters do it would be called a squat jerk.
thats part of it, alexeev wanted a russian lifter to lift in his place and the try outs. Kahkiasvilis put a whole 10 kg more than the russian and got the spot.
i have another video of this lift, and it is 100% accurate, it took closer to 10 seconds from the bar leaving the ground to hitting the ground again, this video is a little fast, but hes still one of the best ever
Что ж, Каха, молодцом..По слухам, ты не прочь в Пекине попытать счастья..Да Каха, ты - это то, о чем мечтали, но чего в силу разных причин, не достигли многие и многие из нас, цхинвальских парней. Удачи тебе!!
unbeliavable feet! unbeliavable clean!! like a rocket from the squat! he's the man!! goddammit! 235 in 90kg!! for fuck sakes that's almost as unbeliavable as suleymanoglu's 190 in 60kg or mutlu's 168 in 56.. WOW!
i dunno dude look at the bar when he drops it to the floor looks like normal speed, remember he did 235@90kg body weight 4 years before this so 4kg muscle could make u that fast specially as fast as dimas said vilis was
no, its definatly speed up, i have a different view of it on my hard drive, and i ran both videos side by side and this one is definatly faster but maybe 10-15%
its not sped up, this is actually speed. i can drop that fast, its not im possible. all you have to do is contract your hamstring quick pull on the bar to launch yourself down. your fast but it can be very unstable and lose the lift like that.
