Hey I have download the iReb but when i go right click on it > properties > compatibility then I have Run this program in compatibility mod for : Windows 95, Windows 98/ Windows Me, Windows NT 4.0 (Servis pack 5) and Windows 2000, i have only them and i dont have the option Run this program as an administrator :P What should I do, please help.

I have an Ipod touch 4g (not 2g) and i have the same problem but nothing seems to work when i try the solutions i've found to solve the problem.

When i try to restore the ipod a message appears "error 1603 the ipod could not be restored" and the apple logo appears on my ipod. this is the best fix ! run iReb. Put iphone/ipod on DFU PWNd, open up itunes and shift restore your firmware. After the extracting then it will restore, after that you will hear the USB connection sound (the sound wen u plug in a usb device) wen u hear that, kill Itunes.exe with task manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL) keep ireb runing, re open itunes again and shift restore again, this time ur iphone/ipod DFU will light up :).. once again kill itunes after usb sound. then run itunes again n repeat, FIXED! !
