Most 3D sonic games you can just let the game play itself, every now and then you turn sonic round a corner or jump to get a ring and whatnot, but that's what's so cool about them!

The version for Sega was just so much smoother than the Gamecube port . . .

Well, smooth is a bad word for it. The frame rate on the original was still quite a mess. The Gamecube game was a bit less consistent because depending on the scene, they sped up the game to give the illusion of a solid 60 frames per second. Their "fix" only made the problem worse, which isn't a surprise, because they didn't FIX anything.

I agree completely. I was playing the game for the DC, then I remembered I had it for the GC and decided to give it a whirl as I had not yet completed the game. Switching over felt awkward, not so much in the controls (although that was a throe that lingered like a foul stench). It seems almost as if they irreparably . . .damaged (for lack of a better word) the depth of field. I would miss jumps that were easily completed on the DC version.

i love all Sonic games, Sonic Adventure series are classics, but also the Chaos make a little appearance in Sonic Unleashed ( i think Sonic Unleashed comes out on top though, especially on the Rooftop Run levels)

This is also how I complete this level. Sure, I could probably do it way faster, but I like to enjoy the level and the music, so speed-running is definitely not for me. For those that like blazing through this level, good for them, but I prefer to take it easy. :)

There were only a few levels in SA1 that I enjoyed, and that was windy valley and the beach level. But it's nowhere near the original games.

How come sonic is so slow when he starts out? How come his feet don't move faster? How come he needs speed pads to even go fast? In the old games, all you had to do was curl up in a ball while you rolled down a hill, and you went extremely fast. You can't even do that in this game.

I am a proud owner of this game. Sonic Adventure beats all of the Jak, Ratchet, Sly, and Pac-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Donkey Kong platformers. Mario is the only one that can beat it. By the way, this level KICKS ASS.
