i got 7.4 which is awfully slow for a 3,400lbs sedan with 300hp. Another thing is, your gear ratio is way lower than most maximas because your car shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear at almost 80mph while other maximas (same year and model) shift at around 63mph. This lower gear ratio would have a huge impact on performance because your powerband wont reach its maximum hp as soon as it would with a lower ratio.
either you cant shift or you dont have a 3.5 because my blazer does 0-60 in 7 seconds,and if i paused the video the right times,which i did you started at 5 and ended at 12...i know the maxima is wayyy faster than that

These Nissan VQ engines are not made to handle this kind of abuse, they have a tendency to develop bad valvetrain/timing chain trouble after about 80,000 miles.
Maybe not yet, but the issue is very well documented, and stems from the poor lubrication to the timing chains, and their tensioners. It also uses shim-style valve lash adjusters, which makes tightening down the rocker arms more difficult.
yes they do have issues with timing chain rattle but this does not affect there overall reliabilty...they are great engines and can take a lot of abuse...why do you think they use them in everything from the maxima, altima, 350z and g35
Oh my God- 58,000 miles and the transmission shifts with no accuracy or reason at 20 mph. It goes to third (which is to low) and immediately jumps to correct itself in second, and does the whole process over until you speed up.
if u get a Max go with 04-06 stock hp is 265, 07-08 hp is 255:( if u choose an altima go with 07 SE 3.5 with 270 hp I love my 05 Maxima. Altima was suppose to take ova the sports car nissan sedan and make maxima luxury, guess in 09 Nissan change their minds.

This is why Nissan chose the motto; The 4-Door Sports car. The Nissan Maxima uses the same engine as the Nissan 350z. (well,when this maxima was made, they were 350z's, and not 370z's). At any rate, the Maxima is tuned differently. Although it is not as quick nor as fast as the 350z, this car deserves the motto is has.

thats pretty fast, probly keeps up wit an Acura TL. I raced a Maxima like this and an Acura TL in my Merc E320 and actually kept with both of them 0-60 wise. i was neck and neck with both for about 7-8 sec and after 60 mph or so they were both gone into the horizon lol. I thinks its the front wheel drive that really slows these torquey cars down. If these had rear wheel drive the start traction would be MUCH better and probly take .5 sec of the 0-60. The new Maxis suck wit that CVT bullshit

wow, clearly you know NOTHING about the power/torque curve of the E320's engine. The e320s max torque is developed at just 3000 rpm, 80% of it at about 2000 rpm. Also, crappy economy tires can really hamper a powerful front wheel drive cars' off-the-line acceleration. Also, i put premium fuel in my Merc, not many Acura or Nissan drivers are using premium fuel, even though they recommend it. Horsepower and weight doesnt mean shit in 0-60 acceleration. Torque, traction, and a good tranny matter
natural sense will tell you that a lower power to weight ratio directly transfers to quicker acceleration. But thats not entirely true. many other factors (traction, length of gear ratios, and torque curve) also contribute. E320s engine has its max torque stretched from 3000-4800 rpm (basically the entire rev brand). also, look out on Consumer guide auto; 05 Acura TL base- 0-60 7.0 sec 05 Nissan maxima SL- 0-60 7.1 sec 05 Mercedes E320- 0-60 7.3 sec
also motortrend, caranddriver, and road and track have much quicker times for the Maxima and TL cuz they normally test their cars with manuals and sportier tires(better grip). A sixth gen Acura TL or Nissan Maxima wit a stick and good set of tires will do 0-60s in lower 6 sec range. Automatic with cheap tires; ur looking at upper 6sec range to 7 sec range. The one in this vid takes about 7 sec
well my numbers differ in my 05 se AT.i can get in the low-mid 6s because of bad tires and bad weather.but on a good clear day with good tires i can get in the high 5s

unfortunatly when i bought it i didnt know that the sl came wit a 4 speed auto so i ended uo gettting the sl. but i dont see 1 more gear any different ill just be getting to the top speed quicker but my rpms will be alot higher therfore wasting alot of gasssss

thats pretty fast, probly keeps up wit an Acura TL. I raced a Maxima like this and an Acura TL in my Merc E320 and actually kept with both of them 0-60 wise. i was neck and neck with both for about 7-8 sec and after 60 mph or so they were both gone into the horizon lol. I thinks its the front wheel drive that really slows these torquey cars down. If these had rear wheel drive the start traction would be MUCH better and probly take .5 sec of the 0-60. The new Maxis suck wit that CVT bullshit

bullcrap... i just took a e320 the other day. the guy even gave me a thumbs up when we both stopped at a light. those weigh more and have less HP than a 6th gen max. Thats unless your talking about the Bluetech... then thats a different story and class of car...

wow, clearly you know NOTHING about the power/torque curve of the E320's engine. The e320s max torque is developed at just 3000 rpm, 80% of it at about 2000 rpm. Also, crappy economy tires can really hamper a powerful front wheel drive cars' off-the-line acceleration. Also, i put premium fuel in my Merc, not many Acura or Nissan drivers are using premium fuel, even though they recommend it. Horsepower and weight doesnt mean shit in 0-60 acceleration. Torque, traction, and a good tranny matter

natural sense will tell you that a lower power to weight ratio directly transfers to quicker acceleration. But thats not entirely true. many other factors (traction, length of gear ratios, and torque curve) also contribute. E320s engine has its max torque stretched from 3000-4800 rpm (basically the entire rev brand). also, look out on Consumer guide auto; 05 Acura TL base- 0-60 7.0 sec 05 Nissan maxima SL- 0-60 7.1 sec 05 Mercedes E320- 0-60 7.3 sec

also motortrend, caranddriver, and road and track have much quicker times for the Maxima and TL cuz they normally test their cars with manuals and sportier tires(better grip). A sixth gen Acura TL or Nissan Maxima wit a stick and good set of tires will do 0-60s in lower 6 sec range. Automatic with cheap tires; ur looking at upper 6sec range to 7 sec range. The one in this vid takes about 7 sec

well my numbers differ in my 05 se AT.i can get in the low-mid 6s because of bad tires and bad weather.but on a good clear day with good tires i can get in the high 5s

high 5s?! Thats better than the 09 Maxi's. Your engine must of been very well broken in to. Obviously you take good care of your engine. (premium fuel, synthetic oil) cuz high 5s is an incredible time for a sixth generation Maxima

nope just the 300C with the 5.7L HEMI...it does the job...i would have got the srt8 but its horrible on gas...mine shuts down to 4 cylinders when im not pushin it...its probably cause of all the extra horsepower and torque i have over a g35....how much does the maxima have?

ohhhh hell yeaaa com on ur comparing a 3.5 engine to a 5.7 that thing must pull. im sure u dont beat g35s or maxis by alot though for some reason these are real good built motors, they came out as one of the top ten best motors ever built.

i used to be right with g35s when i had my 300M which was a 3.5L...but now im ahead with the 5.7L....not be a huge amount though...i'll tell u though it really does pull...to hurl a 4000+ pound car that quickly i would say its a pretty good engine lol

cant be supercharged and if u wanna turbochange it its limited like u cant go big u gotta stay in like the 8lbs and ontop of that u gotta custome build it they dont make it for the maxima they make it for some other car there but it kind of fits the maxima and its real complicated. Bro i get nasty torque steer right now like the wheel wants to rip out my hands when i slam it i hate that..

yea man even with the 300m that had 250hp it torque steered like a bitch lol...i think they should have made maxima rear wheel drive with all that power....thats probably why you cant customize too much because they already know that the torque steer is gonna be killer

yea for real i dont know why they maid them front wheel drive i dont think it was a smart move. well look at the chevy cobalt ss you can do lots of stuff to them and they are front wheel drive. i think even the srt-4 and those things get hooked up nasty

true...i think my friend took the stock supercharger out and got a more powerful one...but you must be able to atleast put a cold air intake on the maxima right? even though that will only give you maybe 15-20 more hp

yea of course like i can put intake exhaust, no headers they are still in production so nothing yet. i can get a intake manifold too and those are the main things other than that thats it lol...
