sinulog is more on fine details in dance and pattern while dinagyang is the liveliness and beat... each one have their differences.. comparison is done so that there would be room for improvement not to degrade one another.. stop the fight. we are all filipinos naman eh... we shud be thankful for festivals like these coz it shows our pride towards our provinces, culture and tradition. i Love all the festivals here in Pinas. so unique and so groundbreaking!!!! peace po lahat....

Heres good news for Cebu.
Cebu City is now the worlds number one emerging global outsourcing destination based on the latest survey made by Global Services-Tholons Study, a reputable magazine in the Information Technology or IT world.
Cebu bested other 50 emerging outsourcing cities in the world.
The worlds biggest outsourcing companies are now looking at Cebu.
NO WARM body yet can beat David G. Lim (DGL) at the race track.
The ace Cebuano driver added yet another trophy to his victory shelves after ruling the Quick 8 title in the Palumba sa Maskara 2008 in Bacolod City last Oct. 11 and 12.
Lims Mitsubishi Evolution 9.5 recorded the fastest time in the track at 10.03 seconds to win the prestigious Quick 8 title in the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP) race.

i hope that the dinagyang contingent should present the true warrior, there shall be character dancer since ang ang mga ati puro lalaki lang ang sumasali, at masyad magulo ang choreography, nawawala na yong ritual na ginagawa ng mga ati, palihog lang mr. trompeta ayusin ang dinagyang festival.

Dinagyang choreography was consulted first to the different religious sector bago gawin, at saka may workshop pa yan kung paano gamitin sa tama ang mga props lalo na ang images ng mga santo.

No gay performer in the dinagyang holding a sto.nino, only lady dancers and warriors hold it.
Gay dancer use only as back-up & not a lead dancer as per dinagyang rules book.

Most provincial contingents got to cebu for sinulog whole heartedly they r not invited or anything. Coz cebu province alone can have atleast 40 contingents for the festival, still many provincaila contingents join to offer a dance prayer to SR. STO NINO DE CEBU!

The Aliwan Festival 2008 Streetdance competition Criteria for judging are: Choreography 30%, Performance 30%, Timing and Rhythm 30%, and Costume 10%.
This is the criteria for judging, it clearly shows that there is no AUDIENCE IMPAC in the criteria. I hope aliwan organizers will give a "CROWD-FAVORITE AWARD" OR maybe through TEXT VOTES or ONLINE VOTING, para rin naman hindi na crowd ang pagbabasehan! CROWD is not a part of the dfance its merely and added excitement.
well shufafa contests are held not for the judges, but for the public. Well the people have spoken through their yells and claps in dinagyang's favor, well they cannot be wrong! ... PS there is such a thing as winners in paper vis-a-vis TRUE winner... that is Dinagyang.
Also, we cannot see the hands that rocked the judges' tables... You know the usual things that we cannot confirm but only speculate. Bahala ka na mag-interpret.

The performances are recycled and copycat, they have only improved their choreography from slow paced to fast-paced movement, adding a riser and giant props, but nothing has new, no new innovation, no surprises.
Most of the choreography and performances malayo na sa totoong meaning ng kanilang festivities.
The performance is very similar to what Pagihdaet performed during the Dinagyang Festival in January, which has already spread over the internet.
If the choreographer did not intend to let other people spy then the performance you've seen if most likely just a preview and is not their final performance.

sinulog is more on fine details in dance and pattern while dinagyang is the liveliness and beat... each one have their differences.. comparison is done so that there would be room for improvement not to degrade one another.. stop the fight. we are all filipinos naman eh... we shud be thankful for festivals like these coz it shows our pride towards our provinces, culture and tradition. i Love all the festivals here in Pinas. so unique and so groundbreaking!!!! peace po lahat....

i think dinagyang is the best festival in the philippines. im from manila and ive been to masskara(bacolod) and sinulog(cebu) but i think dinagyang(iloilo) ranks first? Ay mali pala. sinulog pala kasi sila ang 3 times grandslam hall of famer,world class na sila, second is masskara, both have cultural linkages.. dinagyang is only street dancing to pop musics and parang warshock dancers covered by aspalt and grease nakipag away ng judge pag natalo. ay nakakahiya. dats only my opinion...

Dinagyang choreography was consulted first to the different religious sector bago gawin, at saka may workshop pa yan kung paano gamitin sa tama ang mga props lalo na ang images ng mga santo.
Walang nakitang MALI ang mga religious sector sa paghawak ng sto.nino sa performance na 'to.
No gay performer in the dinagyang holding a sto.nino, only lady dancers and warriors hold it.
Gay dancer use only as back-up & not a lead dancer as per dinagyang rules book.

Most provincial contingents got to cebu for sinulog whole heartedly they r not invited or anything. Coz cebu province alone can have atleast 40 contingents for the festival, still many provincaila contingents join to offer a dance prayer to SR. STO NINO DE CEBU!

The Aliwan Festival 2008 Streetdance competition Criteria for judging are: Choreography 30%, Performance 30%, Timing and Rhythm 30%, and Costume 10%.
This is the criteria for judging, it clearly shows that there is no AUDIENCE IMPAC in the criteria. I hope aliwan organizers will give a "CROWD-FAVORITE AWARD" OR maybe through TEXT VOTES or ONLINE VOTING, para rin naman hindi na crowd ang pagbabasehan! CROWD is not a part of the dfance its merely and added excitement.

well shufafa contests are held not for the judges, but for the public. Well the people have spoken through their yells and claps in dinagyang's favor, well they cannot be wrong! ... PS there is such a thing as winners in paper vis-a-vis TRUE winner... that is Dinagyang.
Also, we cannot see the hands that rocked the judges' tables... You know the usual things that we cannot confirm but only speculate. Bahala ka na mag-interpret.

Hay nako im sure u r insecure coz theres nothing in your place that we can call "world-class" and FYI CPDRC inmates has gained recognition from here and abroad. They r receiving world records, and as perse CPDRC is the happiest prison on earth. The performance is very similar to what Pagihdaet performed during the Dinagyang Festival in January, which has already spread over the internet.
If the choreographer did not intend to let other people spy then the performance you've seen if most likely just a preview and is not their final performance.
