@Pooky1991 I agree man, Okami didn't perform well on the PS2, but I think it found a home on the Wii. We can only hope Capcom tries to exploit it as a series so we can get more of Amaterasu's wonderful adventures.

I know this is far from Twilight Princess, but it seems like adventure games these days are influenced by Zelda. Zack and Wiki (Wind Waker), this game (Twilight Princess). Don't get me wrong though, this game is amazing, one of the best i've played.

Dude, sounds like you have serious issues with the Wii. Maybe your box or mote is faulty.. I don't have any problems except the lack of many quality games. Ninty spends all their efforts on the Mario franchise.
@Rushthatspeaks actually i am of the same opinion, the wii-controllers are really un-responsive :/ although i have not tried the new plus-systems... gotta admit that the ps3 motiontracking has so far worked better, and no, i'm not a ps3 fanboy :) just happen to own a ps3 + wii and if i should choose my gaming console - i would choose the amiga-series (far the most superior games) or the megadrive from sega, so no flaming please.
No flaming. I don't care what system anyone prefers, the fact remains, the port of this game from the PS2 to the Wii was a poor choice despite obvious reasons for doing so.
Although I must say I re-positioned the Wii sensor to an optimal location and then had my niece visiting one night and we beat the part I was stuck on thank god.
@Rushthatspeaks yeah, but it's still kinda funny how the ps3 motionsensor is better, i guess it's just more expensive electronics (which in this case is a better thing, as it works as intended)

The Wii is awful it's a complete failure, the graphics are terrible, the games are a joke as the fucking whole point of the Wii IS the control but the control mechanism is terrible, often unresponsive and faulty.

This game at least for the Wii (not sure how good the controls were for the PS2) is horrible. FUCKING HORRIBLE. THe fucking Wii is a fucking waste of money. The Wii controls for using the paint brush in this game are so fucking bad its infuriating. The part where you're supposed to create blossoms on the tree for that old fucking cunt is so bad that I quit. You make one circle, a blossom appears, you make the EXACT same circle again, no blossom. Then the brush draws terrible, no fucking way.
is not the fault of the wii.Capcom is the responsible for the Playstation 2 port for the wii, so the graphics are no different, only the gameplay. the wii okami controls are a little frustrating but this is capcoms fault ,because capcom did not create the concept of gameplay properly. If you play metroid prime 3 for example, everything is perfect. anyway, the game stills 5 stars to me.

Just give this game a try, and i bet you will love this game . I have played Okami for a very long time now, and it's a very good game as I beat it 2 times already. What I hear is that sooo many people only care about the Zelda games more than these types. @Freak0490 It's supposed to... The game blends Japanese-style watercolor brush painting with 3d graphics. It's really spectacular. It's all about the Japanese culture, and I don't mean the anime or weird toys or anything.
Of course there is. Fighting enemies, you can't rely solely on your celestial brush- you gain weapons that fit into one of three weapons throughout the game, and you can improve moves in the dojos, dotted throughout the lands.
I would say, however, if the idea of using the brush doesn't really interest you, it may not be the game for you? Try it out before you buy, maybe.

Yes, yes it is. You actually do have quite a lot of time to complete sidequests etc. I don't think there are many cutscenes, but of course there will be some when the plotline needs to me moved forward etc, and in those cases I'd say enjoy it! The artwork is simply gorgeous throughout.
Objective of the game, simply put: Get rid of the evil that has settled over ancient Japan on the 100th anniversary of the legendary slaying of the demon Orochi by a mysterious white wolf.
Have you played any Zelda game? Well, if you have then it won't be difficult to understand the dinamics of this game. If not, then I suggest you start with Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask or the Twilight Princess and then play Okami. It is difficult to enjoy games like this if you don't like puzzles and quest games. Today the gaming industry is bombarded with war and car racing games so it is difficult to understand the objectives of a game like Okami.

@gujji4life Sure thing! C: I have this game and I've just about beaten it for the first time. Most of it is great fun. However, in my opninion I find that some parts are just so incredibly aggravating that I want to stop playing it. There aren't many cutscenes unless you want to go and talk to people all the time. There are more in the beginning of the game (This video is beginning-ish) because you still have to learn how to do everything. XD

What type does your sister like so does she like adventures and epic graphics and combat with super puzzles then yes but if she's into games like the slow types (such as mario games) or short games and quick to beat then no. This game is good for those who are patient(because it takes at least 30 hours to beat) and people who like puzzles.

@TheBlueSoup Hrrm. Never trust Wiki! XD If you pay attention, there are a few instances in which Ammy is mentioned as female. They're subtle: Waka calls her MA Cherie, which is the feminine version. All of the gods say that she is MOTHER to them all. The ghost (Whose name I forgot :D) at the entrance to the Gale Temple says she is a MAIDEN. It's weird.

Not sure what's been said about the wii controls...currently playing this right now on the wii, and have had no problems at all with the wii controls...the power slash is abit hit and miss at first, but once you get the controls..there's no problems
Well, at some points in the game, it's difficult to draw the right thing. But most of the time, the game registers perfectly what you've drawn. If you have a little patience, like a great story with good dialogues, nice gameplay and awesome graphics, this game is a must-have.
The paintbrush works almost perfectly; it doesn't register ALL The time, but that sorta adds to the challenge. MY big issue was that I couldn't get the regular attacks to work well swinging the remote.
I just brought this for the wii for £9. pretty good deal tbh seeing as everything for that damn thing is expensive. I hope its good though, always admired the artwork never had a chance to play it

@Freak0490 It's supposed to... The game blends Japanese-style watercolor brush painting with 3d graphics. It's really spectacular. It's all about the Japanese culture, and I don't mean the anime or weird toys or anything.

Of course there is. Fighting enemies, you can't rely solely on your celestial brush- you gain weapons that fit into one of three weapons throughout the game, and you can improve moves in the dojos, dotted throughout the lands.
I would say, however, if the idea of using the brush doesn't really interest you, it may not be the game for you? Try it out before you buy, maybe.

Yes, yes it is. You actually do have quite a lot of time to complete sidequests etc. I don't think there are many cutscenes, but of course there will be some when the plotline needs to me moved forward etc, and in those cases I'd say enjoy it! The artwork is simply gorgeous throughout.
Objective of the game, simply put: Get rid of the evil that has settled over ancient Japan on the 100th anniversary of the legendary slaying of the demon Orochi by a mysterious white wolf.

Have you played any Zelda game? Well, if you have then it won't be difficult to understand the dinamics of this game. If not, then I suggest you start with Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask or the Twilight Princess and then play Okami. It is difficult to enjoy games like this if you don't like puzzles and quest games. Today the gaming industry is bombarded with war and car racing games so it is difficult to understand the objectives of a game like Okami.

@gujji4life Sure thing! C: I have this game and I've just about beaten it for the first time. Most of it is great fun. However, in my opninion I find that some parts are just so incredibly aggravating that I want to stop playing it. There aren't many cutscenes unless you want to go and talk to people all the time. There are more in the beginning of the game (This video is beginning-ish) because you still have to learn how to do everything. XD

depends. What type does your sister like so does she like adventures and epic graphics and combat with super puzzles then yes but if she's into games like the slow types (such as mario games) or short games and quick to beat then no. This game is good for those who are patient(because it takes at least 30 hours to beat) and people who like puzzles.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64 release) is best !!SINGLEPLAYER!! adventure of all times IMO - on any console + PC..
Can't find anything comin near that game - in that genre and they had enough time for new ideas.
Don't come me with Diablo I / II or such now pls, I said SINGLEPLAYER ADVENTURE :-)
Dunno gonna try this game and maybe buy it but i doubt that - looks wack at some points.
Just my 2 cents.. suggestions welcome.

it's actually called amaturasu or something like that and it is a girl in the european version, but it's gender is not mentioned in the North American version.

@TheBlueSoup Hrrm. Never trust Wiki! XD If you pay attention, there are a few instances in which Ammy is mentioned as female. They're subtle: Waka calls her MA Cherie, which is the feminine version. All of the gods say that she is MOTHER to them all. The ghost (Whose name I forgot :D) at the entrance to the Gale Temple says she is a MAIDEN. It's weird.

Not sure what's been said about the wii controls...currently playing this right now on the wii, and have had no problems at all with the wii controls...the power slash is abit hit and miss at first, but once you get the controls..there's no problems

Well, at some points in the game, it's difficult to draw the right thing. But most of the time, the game registers perfectly what you've drawn. If you have a little patience, like a great story with good dialogues, nice gameplay and awesome graphics, this game is a must-have.

The paintbrush works almost perfectly; it doesn't register ALL The time, but that sorta adds to the challenge. MY big issue was that I couldn't get the regular attacks to work well swinging the remote.
