@arthurdyason There have been many a mighty good machine fail in the marketplace because of their looks Arthur, don't understimate the importance of a tidy professional, quality appearance. If the splitter's all developed and good to go, I suggest you engage a good Product Engineer and you'd be amazed how they can rework to a marketable product that's much cheaper and easier to manufacture, looks cool and works just as well - sells faster for more There are plenty of these people in Australia.
Nice to see a machine on youtube splitting other than toothpicks but man she's an ugly bitch? We split big old man pines and NZ hardwoods (softer than Oz types) of similar size, they'd be softer overall but its the knotty sections that do the damage to multiblade splitters? If there weren't knots the logs'd be too valuable as lumber though. Who makes a machine strong enough I wonder? cheers,
what was this recorded with, a brick?

Not built as a piece of art but to do a job.
If you need to only split softwood the hydraulics can be modified to increase the speed.
The splitter is made fro 1" Bisalloy which takes about 10 hours to sharpen and has stayed that way with minimul damage from use.
