  • where's the clutch?

  • Wowww now thats a beast!

  • I'm really jealous... wish to have your bike standing in my garage :'-(

  • Clutch?

  • i didn't knew ktm had a 500 2stroke :O !!!

btw is this one compareable against the cr500 ?

  • this is about the coolist thing i have ever seen

  • what year?

  • Awesome bike!! Ride safe!!

  • WTF!!! kick start on the left??? ha and what year is that bike? and how many CCs does KTM make? ive never heard of a 550.

  • weirdo kickstart

  • Now THAT would make a seriously fun supermoto (with a proper clutch, of course).

  • Sei il mio nuovo dio

  • Thats a badass bike!!

  • What did KTM build this bike for? (Supercross, Motocross, Endurocross, Arenacross, Freestyle Motocross, Hare Scrambles) What kind of transmission does the KTM 550 MXC have? (# of Gears and Gearing Ratio {Wide Ratio, Semi-Wide Ratio, Close Ratio})

  • um, 550af?

  • I had that bike ruin too many pants by kicking back and tearing my jeans leg right in two - that's why my pant leg is tucked in.

  • @bennyl118 it never kicked back for me the 565type engine so the 500 and 550, but after the rebuild of my 550 with high compression head if you would use your tehnic to kick it in you barely turn over the kicker :)

  • fix your damn pant leg

  • Awesome new looking ktm with 96 beast 550 engine!!!

I have a 08 sx 250 (ex Ronnie Renner) and I also fucking love it, but this must be a real beast!!!

    KTM & 2 STROKE 4EVER!!!

  • sweeeet!

    but were is your clutch?

  • @adriktm125 i think its a Rekluse clutch (its automatic, its open at low RPM and its close when there are more RPM ;)) :D

  • @MrLennart1993

i would not like that! its nice to get the clutch when you get a dip..

altough i dont thing there is a mayor dip in a 550 haha!

  • That looks siccccck

  • wow nice build man. sounds beast

  • very nice.. i wish i could do this but instead of the newer plastic where the sidepanels are different, i wold have used like 2003 plastic.

  • 550 2stroke!!! what the hell!!!!!!!!!! that thing must be a beast!!!!!!!!!! didn't know that exist ktm 550 2 stroke... just knew about cr 500 2 stroke! Uh la la !!! Great bike mate

  • why would they put kick on the left, where most other bikes are on right fucking stupid

  • WOW i thought the biggest cc 2stroke was the cr500.. that ktm is pure evil!!

  • @craigrm85

    Check out the maico 700

  • thats awesome thats my next build plan i built a 2002 kx 250 500 converson id love that bike though

  • was the updated suspension and swing arm and plastic and airbox easy?? did you have to change anything?

  • I wouldn't call it easy, but it was definitely doable. I used the stock airbox, but I changed the plastics and tank. It did require welding a few new tabs onto the frame where the mounts lined up. If you're motivated, it can be done!

  • have you ridden a kx500? if so how does it compare?

  • Hi leanuue - yes, I have ridden a KX, but it's been a while. The KTM is quite a bit more powerful. The KX is a nice bike for sure though, and parts for the KTM are starting to get scarce (they quit building them in 96). I ended up selling this bike. I miss it though, it was a MONSTER!

    Ride safe!

  • MAaN I LOVE THE SOUND OF THAT 2STROKE!!!!!!!! great build man congrats.. hope its good to ya

  • Yes, stock silencer and pipe. I was using an FMF pipe, but it was much larger and I didn't notice any more power, so I went back to stock. It's actually louder in person than the video captures. It's loudest at idle though. Once under load it's actually pretty quiet through the woods, which is nice because the 4 stroke riders never know what just streaked past them!

  • i woulden't realy like the left foot kick start

  • no clutch? great bike btw

  • Thanks for the comment! It has a clutch, why do you ask?

  • i didn't see clutch.. and some dirt bikes are semi. ty for answering.

  • that is real 2 stroke power, what year is that? it looks fairly new.

  • Thanks for looking! It is a 1994 550 MX/C that I modified with updated suspension and all 2008 KTM body work.

  • well you did a good job, that is a damn nice bike. how did you get the 08 body work to fit? anyway, well done, that is an incredibly machine.

  • Thank you much! I have tons of pictures and links to a build diary that I kept while building it. If you're interested in seeing them, shoot me an email - bennyl118 'at' hotmail 'dot' com. Thanks again!

  • that'll be great! ill giv ya an email in a while, im not at home right now!

  • that bike is badass

  • tht bike is badass

  • Thanks! The bike is for sale, if you know someone interested, send them my way!

  • How much are you selling it for? or how much did you sell it for this was like 4 weeks ago

  • Hi Armand - asking $3,000. An 8 month old daughter means I just don't have as much time to ride as I used to, so I don't need two motorcycles, and my other one is more practical. Check out my other videos of the bike and let me know if you're interested. Thanks for looking!

  • Thanks for the comments! Yes, she's still running just fine, and yes, the kick on the left is a little weird to get used to!

  • Weird that the kickthingy is on the left side. x)

  • Yeah, it takes some getting used to!

  • nice bike man still runnin?

  • Thanks a lot! I look like a dork starting it, but it works. Check out my other vids, I finally posted some of it being ridden. Thanks for looking!

  • That is a super badass bike, sounds incredible. I've got a 380 and love it for now. I like your starting technique."

  • Yep, all brand new and ready to roll. Thanks for the comment!

  • ooooo nice! u restored everithing?
