I've never understood how the PAW is larger than COOLJC but they seem to pull similarly-sized crowds for their conventions...in some cases COOLJC crowds look bigger. Just an observation.
Even for evening services the crowd appears to not be that different in terms of size...I was at the spring convention back in '05 in ATL and the crowd was about the same size as a COOLJC Congress crowd. But I will be at COOLJC's holy convocation later this month and the PAW summer convention next month and be able to make a more accurate comparison. Not trying to make this a competition or anything, just making observations.
Yeah that was the Spring convention which is not attended as well as the Summer. At any rate back to your original statement: the membership of the organization isn't based upon the attendance of the delegates to the convention cause as you know everybody can't make them. God bless you and enjoy the conventions.
This is true. I guess it's just a difference between the organizations. PAW seems to operate more like a ministerial alliance compared to other organizations like COOLJC and I think that's what may account for things like convention attendance.
PAW started in 1906 as a ministerial organization that developed into a denomination. It converted to the Oneness theology as a organization in 1915 thru the efforts of the late Bishop Haywood. PAW is the oldest Oneness church and the parent body of many Oneness groups including COOLJC. To God be the glory that His Truth marches on. One Lord, one faith and one baptism!
Let's not get caught up in worldly conversations such as which denominational organization is bigger. Let's just please give God the glory, always! There is One church, One faith, One baptism and One God!! Be Blessed!
beloved, who is to say we are not giving God the Glory? We are having a discussion merely dicussing the facts, this coversation is not worldy. God Always get the glory when it comes to the vids posted.
I havent been to a PAW convention in a while, but I remember several conventions being held in the 90's, New Orleans, Chicago, Detroit, Houston that were pretty much JAM packed, especially Detroit, that was held in the Cobo center and the last couple nights, there were people in the nose bleed seats.
I think the cost of making it to these events is basically why you don't see AS MANY people as have made it out in years past.
The location of the convention does play a part on attendance we have more churches in certain areas and some areas are more econonically reasonable to get to than others.
When is the PAW summer convention normally held? I would love 2 try and make it 2011

I don't think so... please keep in mind this is an early morning service around mid week. Not all delegates are in attendance

Right, PAW is a ministerial organization more than a church organization. But it seems we are moving to become both.

I do believe that's what Bishop Smith is trying to accomplish, in part, with the Apostolic Manifesto.
