  • Awesome tank and video. What are the types of corals are in this tank?

  • Wow nice, what do you use for lighting?

  • @Zeyko ive recently upgraded to nano-tuners led's for fluval edges

  • @Zeyko in this video i was using 4x Coralife 50/50 power compacts 20 watts

    3x blue 15 led strips

  • I'm BLOWN AWAY by that awesome current! I feel like jumping in and swimming until I can't anymore and then just let it blow me around like a dead fish! Wheeeee!!

  • Current's too strong for the fish, it could weaken from exhaustion and die.

  • @Autumnvicky my clown has been alive and well for the past two years.

  • What are the flowing orange things on the top of the rock?

  • @Zidentify gsp

  • That is crazy!! I love it and wish I can have one...

  • Poor fishy! That's a pretty fast current he's swimming against

  • Beautiful. I admire what you've done with the Edge.

  • @JenatronAT thanks

  • This is very beautiful! I've been wanting to turn my freshwater Fluval Edge in to a saltwater one. I love how you have everything set up, its magnificent :) great job!

  • Nice man!

  • hi ..... can you tell me ....how did u hood up the led lights??? do u use transformer power supply????? thanks

  • What r those orange corals on top

  • @varrio989 gsp

  • very nice

  • how bigs the tank?

  • Beautiful!!! Clown wants a buddy

  • do you have an ATO?

do you think it could be left for 2 weeks without one or would i need someone to come and top it off every once and a while?

    thnaks!!!

    beautiful tank!

  • That's a lot of powerhead for that little thing.

  • Hi dstruong,

I've been inspired by your videos and build thread and set up a SW edge. It's been running for a month now, added a cleaner shrimp a couple of weeks ago and a Xenia elongata just the other day. Everything seems to be doing great but I have a couple of questions.

Do you have both of your pumps on all the time?

I currently have mr11 LEDs and 3 strips of blue LEDs, should I add a coralife bulb or even 4 with a new hood like yours?

    Many thanks,

    Matt

  • @MattWarrenWilson Thanks for the comment. adding more lighting all depends on what yo uplan of having in the tank. If money is not an issue, i would reccomend getting the LEDS created by nana-tuners. ($300.00).

  • @dstruong86 aquabeam 600's (6x2w crees ttl 12w) marine or reef blue are great... and are only around $160 per strip.

  • @MattWarrenWilson also. I used screen door mesh repair to reduce the flow on each nano. I leave them on 24/7

  • First off great job dude its a gorgeous nano reef, have to tell ya after watching your vid. I went out and got one, I had an 80 gal. reef and wanted to set one up since I lost my house ,the Edge is sleek and after work this is my therapy, to speed things up I got 10 lb of live sand and I bought 5 gal. of salt water from the F/S and 2.5 lb of live rock I'm having a blast with it . Allready found brittle stars choc. stars fether dusters , anemonies, shrimps, worms,...... Thanks for sharing

  • @silvanodebby thanks good luck on your tank.

  • @silvanodebby Post a video of yours : )

  • Are you on any forums? If so do you have a build thread?

  • @Partsocaster im on nano-reef

  • I got the fluval edge tank as well and making it a SW tank. hopefully it can be half as beautiful as yours.

My question: Should I use the stock filter system that came with the tank? the package with the foam, activated carbon bag, and he BIOMAX

  • @dathoe use everything except the bioballs. You may also wait to add a poly filter.

  • @dstruong86 Thanks! i hate my LFS. they never bother to explain anything.

  • @dathoe yep no problem.

  • I know bioball is a nitrite factory. But yesterday I've seen a successful tank on another forum. .. the owner decided to use filter floss at the bottom and a mesh load of Bioball. are there any benefits to his approach?

Would leaving the bioball in there help the tank cycle for now? it's a 3 day old tank :D

    then take it out later?

  • @dathoe Everyone i spoke too while building my tank removed the bioballs. The live rock should give you a more natural filtration. There should also be no rush in creating any marine aquarium. I would add a small piece of shrimp in there to help speed up the cycle process. Once you have a algae outburst. Its time to add a CUC and shortly after, your first fish. I would hold off on adding any coral for a couple months.

  • HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH

    (to the guy below me)

  • animal abuse! that clown is prolly so horny. look at him swimming back and fourth lookin for poon!

  • Awesome ha ha ha ha.

  • @newyorksteelo thanks

  • Whats that at the top of the live rock waving around in the flow...?

  • @marts500 GSP

  • i would like to set up an edge tank just like this...is everything still stable considering the 6 gallon capacity and did you cut down the PH outputs...?Would you consider a mp10 Vortech an upgrade...?

  • @if you have the money for it, i would recommend the mp10.

I check my levels once a month, and everything is very stable. The key is to add live stock slowly and not to throw off the biological balances, and to allow the tank to mature.

  • @marts500 Everything is very stable

  • Best tank ever...?btw do you change the poly filter pad every week..?

  • @marts500 thanks for the comment. I change the poly filter every 3-4 weeks.

  • Nice mate! Love the lighting looks just right!

Hoping to turn my edge marine soon.

    Nice one dude!

  • @200dev Thank you. Good luck on the conversion.

  • awesome tank dude! is it still up n running like in the vid ?

  • @skunk000 Thanks. And yes!

  • what are the benefits to having two pumps in there?

  • @leftys1983 less dead spots.

  • Awesome tank, good job! I've also got a fluval edge but have a tropical setup- do you find that the filter does not put out much aeration? Mine is on full but still hardly any bubbles, I'm considering adding an airstone. Any tips ? Thanks

  • @stevieh2780 try replacing the aquaclear 20 for a aquaclear 30 HOB. I believe is should fit .

  • Outstanding

  • @Tetrodouk thanks

  • love the tank man, where are your firefish and goby?

  • @Thomizbeast hiding
