@fabiobranno I PERSONALLY LIKE AIKIDO. BUT ANY AIKIDO VIDEOS THE GUY TAKES DOWN BUNCH OF WIMPS. THAT WHY I ASKED. IM JUST CURIOS HOW IT D GO IF OPPONENT GUYS R BEAST
Aikido techniques are derived from sword fighting. You could pick up a sword and have the essentials of movement needed. IM not very experienced with Aikido, Im a black belt in JUDO but all circular martial arts have the idea of capturing the inertia of the linear technique and exploiting it with circular motion. No one does this better than Aikido.
Tissier is usually a lot better than this. Still pretty bloody awesome though.
To clear up a few minor points, due to me being a real maiden-head.
The song was Rainmaker, the band were Iron Maiden, the album is Dance Of Death, the vocalist is Bruce Dickinson, This was the 1st album after the dreadful Blaze Bailey incident. "The Blaze of fire fire did no hurt upon me" UP THE IRONS.
The important thing to understand here, is that aikido is not at all like real fighting. Just because some of the locks would do damage if uke didn't 'go with the technique' doesn't mean those locks are realistic in a real fight. The problem with TMA is that it teaches damaging techniques from a COOPERATIVE beginning. So, if uke hadn't let Nage grip the joint for the lock, the lock wouldn't have been applied. Real fighting is about using techniques AGAINST RESISTANCE. Aikido is not about that.
thisi is what it seems. Aikido doesn't teach how to lock. Locks are only the end of a change. The beginning is : Attack-Position safe and, in the same time, dangerous for the attacker.
In the real fight danger become immediatly material and the fight will end.
In the aikido the target is teach how to understand the danger, how to use and how to escape it.
Lock and projections aren't dangerous if you know how to deblock yourself and how to fall....Don't you?
people who dont know how to fall will barely be able to take a solid Ikkyo without doing a faceplant. The waza can be gentle, but gravity can be a real b*tch =P
@slapupchrist I don't know maybe you are right but I wouldn't dare to fight C. Tissier. Even though I have been doing different martial arts for a while. Maybe you dare? Maybe you can show him your "resistance". I'd love to see it.
riisimees, fighting is simply competition. COMPETITION means individuals trying to defeat one another. Defeat can be achieved by escaping an attack or repelling an attack or attacking an attack. Self defence is simply competition of a sort.
The way you compete with someone is by RESISTING their moves/motives. Resistance is achieved by simply actively NOT going along with the attack. That is, doing something that counters it.
Aikido is not trained in a competitive/resisting fashion.
@slapupchrist But what about the tehniques? Isn't tehniques important for you? This video doesn't show you aikido in action for sure. It will look different, because you are watching stylished aikido. But look for Rik Ellis Aikido in MMA and you will see it in real fighting. Aikido has real counters and real strikes, so don't underestimate any fighting style.
You're absolutely right. In a real fight, it's nothing like a dojo, because most people don't know how to blend and fall properly. In THAT case, aikido is not so nice.
Did you know more injuries happen in an aikido dojo then a TKD dojo? It's because people don't blend and try to resist the throw. just like a "normal" person.
Let's see this guy try to take on a College football defense end's tackle...He'd be on is back and wondering what the hell just happened. This idea of "usig the opponents motion against him" is pure hogwash. In real MMA fights, it's shown over and over the real truth; you cannot prevent a takedown. Once down this guy has no skills whatever in which to defend himself against a trained grappler.
DO U THINK THAT CAN TAKE DOWN BROCK LESNAR OR KIMBO OR ANY GUY WHO WEIGHS MORE THAN 250LB PURE MUSCLE?
killthemall55 6 months ago
@killthemall55 I don't Know. Do you think YOU can?
Problem is different. Problem is: do you think HE can take me down using this technics? I think he can.
So I think the problem is not the technics....!
;)
Good Luck and Good Look!

@slapupchrist My point was that: even if you try to resist any tehnique then no one starts to wrestle with you. You must fight, not resist.

nice techniques! bad I also think that aikido is not suitable for real fight. If uke does not move with a harmony ,most technique falls down!

It only depends on how u train it.

Ukes make this guy look good.
Where is the martial base? The 9 elements? All i see is a choreographed dance form with uke co-operating.
Id like to see him do the same techniques on a 20 stone muscle bound neanderthal!
Borogas33 4 years ago
if there's no co-operating, there will be broken bones.. broken wrists, etc..
elcornuti 4 years ago 2
This is a demonstration. Of course uke makes nage look good.
There is a differens between training and demo.
