This effect is not really hard? you need to need to track your footage because the camera is shaky. apply the particle effect. use trapecode they have preset so you don't have to creat one yourself. then maybe rotoscope the ground's car a little so the cosmic look like it is in the background. that is just a breakdown. you need to add the detail yourself and play around with it. learn AE at creative cow or video copilot. use your imagination for everything else.

just by adding big black strips on top and bottom of the final comp (solids in after effex) does the trick I find. Though Magic Bullet offers a Letterboxer plugin..try downloadin it..
