Check out Hum, Shiner, C-Clamp, Castor, Pond, Red Red Meat, Thirty Ought Six, DoosU, Failure, Seki, Jawbox, Quicksand, Sunny Day Real Estate... just to name a few. Can't really go wrong with any off them.

Red Red Meat is kinda strange, and so is Pond but give them a chance and you'll be well rewarded.
