I've always thought that megaman 8 was by far the most underrated one in the series. It's a great game. And has amazing music too.

Megaman 8 is under-rated because after 6 games of doing almost exactly the same thing over and over again, Capcom actually tried to advance the series with 7 and 8. Since looked different and felt different, people pretty much automatically wrote them off as not being as good. That's why a lot of the old school Megaman fans try to claim that this game sucks. Nostalgia can be blinding.

Exactly, which is why I don't understand why Megaman 9 and 10 needed to go back to NES graphics. Even if 8 is the worst in the series, it's not because of the way it looks. They could have easilly made the gameplay and level design more like the older ones while giving it 8's art style.
